" LUCKY ARE THE SOLDIERS WHO STRIVE IN A JUST WAR : FOR THEM IT IS AN EASY ENTRY INTO THE HEAVEN .This is a FAMOUS QUOTE of the Late Netaji Subash Chandra Bose which he delivered to the AZAD HIND FAUZ before they had set for Rangoon to take on the British Indian Army to liberate India which was the slave of the Britishers then.
This was the MAN , THIS is the WARRIOR, this is the SOLDIER- Lance Naik Albert Ekka who roadmapped the VICTORY Singlehandedly for the Indian Army to SPLIT Pakistan thereafter into TWO and lay the HAND on the VICTORY MOMENT for India in the 1971 India-Pakistan war at East Pakistan, now Bangladesh at Dacca, now DHAKA
It is said that- WHAT COUNTS IN THE WAR IS NOT NECESSARILY THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE WAR- OR THE FIGHT- BUT THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG and Albert Ekka was NEVER W DOG in the FIGHT, he always was a LION and the LION means BUSINESS
The ENTIRE FULL SCAPE planning of the war right from the day when there was a HUGE argument between the TOP CONGRESS LEADEWRS, then, and Mr Maneckshaw and the entire story of HOW Mr MANECKSHAW BUILT HIS WARRIOR TO TAKE THE MIGHT OF ONLE LAKH OF PAKISTANI SOLDIER AT BANGLADESH IS NARRATED HERE.
Lance Naik Albert Ekka, PVC (27 December 1942 – 3 December 1971) was a soldier in the Indian Army. He was martyred in action in the battle of Hilli, during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valour in the face of the enemy
Not many of this age and
not many who hardly find the time to read and spend much of their time in
reading would know that IF IT WAS NOT
ALBERT EKKA, INDIA COULD NOT HAVE DEFEATED PAKISTAN TO SIEZE BANGADESH FROM
IT’S GRIP AND THE INDIAN ARMY COULD NOT HAVE WON THE 1971 WAR againt
Pakistan by any mean and by any cost at all.
Early Life-:;
Albert Ekka was born on 27
December 1942, in village Zari, near Ranchi, then at Bihar. His parents were Julius Ekka and Mariam Ekka. Ekka's family belonged to
an Adivasi
tribe . They were
originally the adivasi’s but they had to convert into Christianas poverty made
them to do so .
Albert when he started
growing up he was drawn to HOCKEY and SHOOTING ie hunting. The hunt that he
would do killing the pigeons and the jungle fowls like the jungle cocks, hens
etc would make the lunch and the supper for the family and he was a very good
hockey players as well Hockey is a gane which is adored by the adivasis and the
KHASI’S which he won playing this game added the GOATS to his family for
selling the milk and adding some money to run the family
In the tribal adivasis
area of Ranchi there is a HOCKEY
TOURNAMENT that is played even till the date . They call it KHASI JEET HOCKEY During the
winter season especially the winter the field is open for playing hockey after
the harvest. Every Sunday for the entire day the adivasis bring their teams
from all over the village and play the game for the entire day with two teams
outwitting each other The victorious team oves on and forward and in the finals
the team that wins and the one who scores the winning goal is gifted a KHASI
which is also known as the GOAT Obviously Albert would win most of them This is
a ONE DAY A WEEK kind of a game played every Sunday and Albert and his team
would see to it that they won the finals and Albert won the Khasis
Playing hockey made him a
very TIGHT and a FIT man and
he added a lot of stamina to his body by playing hockey Thereafter a friend of
his brought him an arrow and this arrow changed the complexion of his life.
Barring the Sunday’s then, he would go to the jungle to kill the birds and the
fowls to bring them to his home for his mother to prepare the meals out of it .
Very slowly he became a master in it. He could shoot an arrow from any angle
and from a particular distance and would kill his prey For most of the time his
arrow would never miss the target .
One day by chance during the shoot, ie, preying , he came
across a wild boar in the
jungle. The arrow that jhe shot it to the boar could not fetch him the desired
result The boar after being hit by so many arrow and the pain inflicted charged
him and attacked him relentlessly Albert took the BULL BY THE HORN , and he fought and waged a tremendous bout
By chance he got a sharp knife at that place while fighting the boar He had by
then broken a wild tooth of the boar .The boar was all for his life when he all
of a sudden got that razor knife. The
result was Albert with that knife cut the boar and won the war This was the
first of such war that he had won in his life if that battle between him and
the boar could be termed as a war .
Hunting hockey and archery is all about the adivasis
that they do it in their toddling days and in the youth. That is how they grow up.
Poor and poverty fails them to make it to the school and the villages situated
so far away from the cities these adivasis hardly connect them to the studies
but they make it to the army courtesy Hockey or shooting as their certificates,
and Albert too was no exception when he joined the Army
With his experience of
hunting in jungles, palying hockey, and his mastery over the shooting he was able to be a better soldier with his
skilful use of ground and movements. As he grew, Ekka developed interest for
the army, and was enrolled in the Bihar
Regiment] on 27 December 1962
Marriage & the MOUTH ORGAN-::
After he joined the Army
he was send to Danapur for his first training in the Army and he surprised
everybody by his shooting shill. He could choose any angle at any place and
could hit the bull eye with absolute perfection .He could accurately measure
the angle and the timimg to release the bullet to hit the bull eye wiyh
absolute perfection That surprised many of his peers and the officers higher up
They decided then to shift him to a higher grade of MILITARISM and it’s training where he could be very
effective
There was a mini scuff between the Indian and the
Chinese Soldier if one remembers in 1968 where the Indian Army killed about 14 Chinese Soldiers at a place
near the China India border at Nathula Pass in 1968. Albert was there fighting
the battle for the Indian Army and it was he who was responsible for the VICTORY on that occasion for the
Indian Army
After the 14th Battalion
of the Brigade of the Guards was raised in January 1968 Ekka was
transferred to that unit. He saw action in counter-insurgency operations while in the North
East. During the preparations anticipation
of Indo-Pakistani
War of 1971, Ekka
was promoted to Lance Naik
After that promotion when he was only 26 years of age his
parent got him married. That marriage gave him a MOUTH-ORGAN as a gift by his Father-in-Law and that was the only GIFT that he received from his wife’s
family and it’s end as a GIFT This is what changed his life After the marriage
he took his wife to ranchi to spend a few days with her at Ranchi. There he saw
a movie “ SOLVA-SAAL ” which
featured Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman and the movie had a song- HAI APNA DIL TOH AWARA, NAA JANAY KISPAY
YEH AYEGA ” This song was the one which Albert practiced on his mouth
organ and this is how he started mastering some illustrious songs of the Hindi
movies during those days Within a few days his unit members would call him as the MOUTH-ORGAN specialist and
would propse him to sing all those songs that they would like ti hear on the
mouth organ from Albert and Albert would play those songs with perfection His
friends at the units would call him Kishore Kumar and the others would call him
S D Burman but no sooner that they would call him such he would in a perfect
Bihari dialect would say- SHARAM NAHI
AAYA BEIZZATI KARNAY KOH
The Mouth-Organ as the time passed became the second kind of
a gun for albert. After a hard day in the field after all the kind of advance
Militray training when he went into his barrack he would see his Wife’s photo
that he kept under his pillow and would start with the song Hai Apna Dil and
would then cover up many and all his unit members, his friends at the Barrack
would dance and enjoy at the play of his mouth organs for the songs that he
would play. That is how he passed his time
I’m and I was only 11 and a half years of age when this war
was fought between india and Pakistan in 1971.At that time whatever I could
read in the TIMES-OF-INDIA and DHARMYUG a FORTNIGHT magazine, I’m puttint it
over here for the readers to read and enjoy
Mrs Gandhi the them “PM” was losing her popularity and her
credibility amongst the vast mass and the population of this country Her
SLOGAN- GARIBI HATAO was a
total flop in every sense. Her slogan- HARIT
KRANTI too was a FLOP.
The drought that hit India twice in 1968 and again in 1970 was a NADIR for
Madam Gandhi then. Moreover the parties which decided to support her externally
and internally The SAD of Punjab, the Shiv sena of Maharashtra and surprisingly
the regional parties from Madras ( TN
) now were all against her She needed something very special to make it
up for her.
The influx and everyday penetration of the refugee’s from
Bangladesh to India and the atrocity of the Pakistani over Bangladesh was
making the life a HELL for India.
Lakhs and lakhs of Bangladeshi’s all refugees were entering India. The reason
was East Pakistan then and now Bangladesh under Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman had won the National election of Pakistan
.The Awami League of Bangladesh was not allowed to rule Pakistan. Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman was house
arrested and the Pakistani Army took over the entire East Pakistan. They
KILLED about 1,00,000 lakhs
of BENGALI’s who were the REAL
INTELLECT of that land That beside the Pakistani Army RAPED, LOOTED, MURDERED, DESTROYED many and many a
things which were the HONOUR of the Bengali’s over there be it the
Bengali Muslims or be it the Sanatani Bengali Hindus staying over there General Yahya Khan and Zulfiquar Ali
Bhutto were the DESTROYER-IN-CHIEF
of East Pakistan then
Madam Indira Gandhi saw an opportunity. She felt that if she
attacks Pakistan and win the war her falling image will take a make-over.She
invited CEO of the Indian Army Mr Maneckshaw for an discussion and spoke on the
subject The CEO of the Indian
Army plainly told her- FROM THE MONTH
OF FEBRURAY TO THE MONTH OF
NOVEMBER IT WOULD BE A DEFEAT FOR INDIA IF INDIA PLUNGES ITSELF FOR THE WAR
The Defense Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram who was sitting with Madam India alias
INDIRA to “ MASKOFY “ the Madam and win her heart said- HAAN KEH DIJIYE NAA KYA FARAK PADTAH HAI LADAI ABHI HOH YAA TABHI
HOH Listening to this the CEO ABRUPTLY told right across his face- DESH APP SAMBHALIYE TOH THEEKH , AAP LOG ARMY
KA “A ” BHI AUR WAR KA “W” BHI AGAR NAHIN JANTAY HAIN TOH MUJHPAR CHHODH
DIJIYE MAINAY WORLD WAR LADA HAI AUR EAST PAKISTAN KA HUR EK CHAPPAH CVHAPPAH
MAI AAPSAY ZYADA JANTAH HOON AAP APNA KAAM KIJIYE AUR MUJHAY MERA KARNAY DIJIYE
Listening to this the Madam was horrified She asked the CEO
of the Indian Army as to why and how was he replying in this manner to the
Indian defense Minister The CEO then replied- INDIAN ARMY DOES NOT FEARS WHO IT TAKES ON BE IT THE “PM” OR BR IT
THE “DM” THAT IS ONE Secondly during the month of February every year, from
Februray to April the harvesting of the crops are done at India At that time
all the JAWANS take the leave and go to their villages to help the family for
the same. That would be a distract to the Army personnel if the war is held at
that time. Thirdly immediately after the war the Railways use the time to trans
shift the food items from one end of the country to the another or other. Now if
the war is held the railways would be totally engaged to tans shift the Army
and the ammunition and that would hit the farmers, the poor man of his meals
and the people of India in particular as they would be hit by lack of proper
meals and the hoarders as wellas the inflation would kill the country Last-
immediately after the summer season the entire part of East Pakistan would be
reeling under flood always and the heavy rain As I have been a part of the
British Army during the World war-II and was posted in that region I can assure
you that if we go in for war then after summer the Indian Army would face the
WROUGHT of the weather and another RUSSIA-
GERMANY kind of a HISTORY would be repeated and Indian army will have to
surrender and that is WHAT I DO NOT WANT
IT TO BE .
Listening to that first Indira Gandhi did not oblige to keep
quiet and insisted that an early war may be launched on Pakistan and Babu
Jagjivan Ram kept on INSISTING- HAAN
BOL DIJIYE NAA KAR DIJIYE NAA AKHIR LADNA HI TOH HAI. Listening to this
the CEO of the Indian Army said- CHHUP
RAHIYE YEH CHUNAAV NAHI HAI JOH MOOH KAY BOLI SAY AUR SLOGAN SAY LADAY JATEH
HAI, YAHAN KHOON BAHAKAR JEETNA PADTAD HAI NAA KI MURKHOH KAY NAADAN VOTOY SAY
MAI MERA KAAM KHHOB JAANTAH HON AAP APNA KAAM THEEKH SAY KAREY TOH ACCHA HAI
AUR MAI EK SAINIK HOON GOLI WOLI KHAA KARR MARA NAHIN AAP KA BEWAKOOFI YAA DAR
SAY MAI MARNAY WAALA NAHIN He immediately said to Madam- Let me MENTALLY pick four ONLY FOUR Army Fighters to first win
the CHOWKI at the Pakistan- India border at Gangasagar which is the BACKBONE of the Pakistani Army at that
place Unless and until we chalk out a strategy to win that CHOWKI we cannot win that WAR at any cost
against Pakistan
It requires me ONLY
FOUR ARMY PERSONNEL the FIGHTERS
who would PUT THE ENEMY and
the DEATH under it’s feet to
win that CHOWKI and ONCE done we could launch our attack Then again the Western
front of the Indo-Pak border has to be completely CHOCKED-AND-BLOCKED so that no Pakistani movement is
launched at India from the Western front . I have to train and prepare my Army for the
same
Listening to it Madam Gandhi replied- OK, then what would be
the CORRECT time to launch
the war. Listening to that the CEO
answered We have to wait for Pakistan to attack us first and once they do it
they will fall into our trap and if they fall within 15 days I PROMISE THE ENTIRE NATION OF PAKISTAN
WILL FALL INTO YOUR FEET Anything before that WILL BE A “ DEATH “ FOR INDIA AND YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT
After this Mr Maneckshaw spent his time choosing FOUR FIGHTERS who could take
anything and EVERYTHING even if they
were UNARMED. He wanted FOUR and ONLY four wherein their DICTATIONARY
never had the WORD “ FEAR “
inscribed in it He wanted FOUR and
only four whose life meant DEATH for
them For that CHOWKI at the
Gangasagar border of Bangladesh and India under it had about a lakh of Pakistani Soldiers about 100
Patton Tanks, about 20 Sabre Jets and ammunition about and in INNUMERABLE
quantity which was NOT that easy for the Indian Army to move and penetrate into
the East Pakistani territory which was held by the Pakistani Army
The Field Marshal did not waste even a SINGLE minute to
completely arm the Western Border and choke it for everything. After that he
started his search for the FOUR GOLD
TROBS the DHYANCHAND, ROOP SINGH, ALI ISHTIAUE DARA and TAPSEL of the 1936
hockey team that BEAT “ HITLER “ to win that Gold for India for his team to win
that Chowki at Ganga Sagar which infact aws the backbone of the Pakistan Army
at East Pakistan then. He wanted
a CARE FREE, INTELLIGENT, JOKE CRACKERS kind of a FLESH who would be FREE from all the FEARS and WOULD
CRACK JOKES during the TIME
OF THE DEATH if it visit them
during that avalanche He wanted FOUR
men who would NOT give even a MILLIMETER and who would NOT BUDGE even by
anything to death His search got him Albert Ekka, and KULTAR
SINGH beside another two for the same . I’m PURPOSELY naming that GURKHA
as Kultar because when I met him at Darjeeling in 1993 when I was on an
official assignment at that place in 1993 he asked me not to reveal his name
for some reason which was very true to hear, and as such I’m using a Punjabi name for that Gurkha naming him Kultar here
India waited and waited and was waiting for Pakistan to
attack and fall into the Indian trap The time came and on December 3rd
1971 a Squadron of Pakistani plane the Sabre jet penetrated the Indian
territory at Kashmir exatly at 12.10 AM and attacked all the Indian airstrip
where the Indian fighting planes were kept The bombarding was severe and India
replied it by countering and chasing the Sabre jet out The 21 years old Flight
Lieutinant Nirmaljit Sekhon flew his plane and destroyed two Pakistani
plane and chased the other two out of the indian boundary and in the process he
lost his life He was awarded the PARAM
VIR CHAKRA for his effort thereafter
Filed Marshal
meets Albert , talks his plan , takes his MOUTH ORGAN , gives it BACK and
SAYS-KAR DALO
After choking and blocking the entire Western front and
after choosing these four thereafter the Field Marshal put these quartet into a
HIGH INTENSIVE training which was a combination of GUERILLA ATTACK, COMMANDO
TRAINING & ATTACK, FREE HAND FIGHTS
AS WELL AS KARATE TRAINING and EVEN WRESTLING to jostle and hustle the enemy if
it boiled to that The Quartret within no time passed their test Once dome the
Field Marshal took them to a very secluded place and spoke his HEART He just
asked KAR PAOGEY and the reply or the answer that he got was- BOLIYE KAB KARNA HAI ABHI YAA KABHIE
It was Albert who took the lead He said- Sir a CHINESE BULLET rubbed my arm and
the scar is still there It always reminds me about the RETURNS that I have to perfom for my unit . I have a MOUTH ORGAN and I always play it
to forget that PAIN which I
received it during that Chinese insurgency at Nathula . I’m looking forward for one such moment where I
could give it back I the same fashion The only problem is this time it is the
Pakistanis and NOT the
Chinese but anyway FIGHT IS FIGHT
be it anybody Shall we move now and immediately
The Field Marshal moved ahead and took away the MOUTH ORGAN from the pocket of
Albert, No sooner that he did that Albert requested the Field marshal to give
it back to him The Field Marshal
at first refused That made Albert reckless and uneasy He replied SIR,
ALL THESE YEARS WHEREEVER I WS POSTED AND WHENEVER I WAS WITHOUT ANY ARMS THIS
MOUTH ORGAN AND THE MUSIC I PLAYED KEPT ME ALIVE If this is with me I
can live without eating for three days I cannot LIVE without it This is the GREATEST GIFT my wife had chosen
for me and my FATHER-IN-LAW
presented me on my marriage We live without our family and when this mouth
organ in touch with my lips I feel my family is and has surrounded me It DOUBLES MY STRENGTH and QUATRUPLETS my
ENERGY Sir PLEASE give it back to me This is my LIFE after my ARMY
duty and my WIFE My
wife is PREGNANT There is NOBODY to look after her for her
period of pregnancy I wanted to take the leave but my NATIONAL DUTY is
preventing me to do it If this MOUTH
ORGAN is with me- I EVEN DO
NOT NEED ANY ARMS TO FIGHT MY ENEMY My HANDS ARE ENOUGH Without it I’m A DEAD MAN
While Albert was putting his views and the theories the
Field Marshal was observing the PAIN
of Albert without the MOUTH ORGAN He put it back to Albert on his pocket and
said- JAWAN JAISAY TUM BAIGAR MOUTH ORGAN KAY TADAP RAHAY
HOH THEEKH WAISAY HI DESH TADAP JAYEGA AGAR TUM HAAR GAYE TOH KISI BHI HALAT
PAR WHO CHOWKI JEETNA HAI KOI SKAH The REPLY WAS - JAAN
JAYEGAA MALOOM HAI PATNI VIDHVAA HOGI MALOOM HAI PAR YEH MOUTH ORGAN JANAB
AAPKAY PAAS HI WAPAS AYEGA AUR AAP SAMAJH LENA KI ALBERT NAY JAAN PAR KEHLKAY
CHOWKI JEETA HAI
War Breaks Out-::
Finally the War
broke out Pakistan had attacked our airbase as I wrore earlier Albert and his quartet met the Field marshal
for the last time and they moved ahead at Gangasagar border wherer the
Pakistani Chowki had to be seized It was about 1.00AM at Night when they
reached the spot . Albert was the LEADER of this unit. He made a base camp for
the quartet and said- JAB TAK MAI NAHIN AAYA TUM YAHAN SAY
HILNA MUT MAI DEKHTAA HONN KI STHITEE KYA HAI which means unless and
until I come back to the camp you people will nt move Let me go and find what
is the position there at the field He came back early at about 9.00AM in the
morning He spelt his words to his team and decided that this night we will
attack the Chowki He chose his time
The Pakistani Chowki was INEFFECTIVE between the period of 12.00AM to about 2.00AM during
the early hour of the night It was because the unit would go to dinner late at
the night and in that period between the time they would change over for the
duty The exchange of the Arms between the Pakistani’s who would change over for
the duty would take place at that time and the reporting as well as deputizing were
the jobs performed by the Pakistanis during that time
On December 5th Albert chose the time . He had communicated
Mr Jagjit Singh Arora through the wireless about his plan and he got a OK
signal from Mr Arora about it Mr Arora without his knowledge had kept a troop
of about 50 Army people ready for any adverse eventualities. Albert and his men
did not know that
On December 5th 1971 exactly like a GUERILLA
Albert as a team leader reached near the Chowki and his shooting the enemy with
such an acute angle and that experience came in as a handy The Pakistani’s were
busy in the programme of changing over the duty with an unarmed position and
with a careless attitude.Albert took the chance and killed two Pkkistani and
immediately asjed two of his men to take the stance at the post His orders
were- AGAR KOI TUMPAR HAMLA KARTAH HAI TOH UDA DENA KOI SHAK UDDHAR SAY YAA
IDAHR SAY KOI ANDAR YAA BAHAR AANAY NA PAYAY YAA JANAY NA PAYA KOI SHAK which
means that if anybody attacks you you KILL them Remember nobody from that end
should enter the camp here and from this end should be allowed to go out of
camp He was full of plans He made it clear YAHAN JITNAY HAI PAKISTANI SUB KOH
MARNA HAI which means every Pakistani Soldiers here at the camp will have to DIE
Having given the charge to two of his lieutenants for the
moment then he moved ahead of the camp The PITCH
BLACK DARKNESS did not deter him for anything He soon realized that within
that periphery of the Chowki the Pakistani’s
had created and constructed many a Bunkers
hew ewas sure of the fact that he had a lot to do as a Soldier and he took his
decision He decided to single handedly destroy whatever the Pakistani’s did
have within the periphery of the bunker
He moved ahead
with his plan to destroy everything that the Pakistani’s had over there.
No sooner that he noticed anybody his
FIRING SKILL came in as a handy His bullets started hitting the Pakistani eye
like the archer hitting the BULL-EYE Within no time he took over the control of
RASAD which means the store where the Pakistani had stored all the Arms and
ammunition Once he got hold of the store where the Pakistani soldiers stored
their ammunition and arms, he called Kultar by the signal and handed him the
entire stores saying that this store has not be given to the enemy at any cost.
He put the third of the quartet Kultar at that place and said to him- IS RASAD KHANA KOH KISIS BHI HALAT PAR
HAATH SAY JANAY MUT DENA MAI AGAY JAA RAHA HOON UNKAY SHAYAN GHAR PAR WAHAN
MRITYU PAKKA HAI MARUNGA LEKIN WAHAN SUBKOH KHATAMBH KARKAY HI MARUNGA AGAR
MAINAY HAATH GOLA CHALA DIYA TOH SAMAJH LENA KI MAI MAR RAHA HOON TUM WAAHAN
PAR BAAKI KAY TEEN MAY SAY EK KOH DAALKAR WAHAN AA JANA AUR STHITHI KOH
SAMBHAAL LENA YEH CHOWKI TAB HAMARA HOH JAYEGA which means – Kultar I’m
moving forward I will attack the Barrack of the Chowki and the Bukers where these Pakistani’s stay I
know DEATH awaits me there I will be dead but I WILL KILL EVERYBODY OVER THERE
I might have to use a HAND GRENADE and if I use it you take it for granted
that I’m on my last leg of my life journey In that case you depute ONE of the
remaining that comprises our team and take over the entire chowki. This Chowki has to be under our control by
any mean and by any standard After you hear the sound of hand grenade
you can depute one amongst us and move to the place where I would use the hand
grenade That would be a signal to you from my end as a help I need You then
hand over the Chowki to either of the two that comprises our team and come to
the place where I would be Till then you will have to defend ther Chowki
He then moved to their barrack and one by one he started
killing their Army Soldiers by his skill of shooting Once done he targeted the
bunkers He was fighting alone like a electricity and moving like the wind to
finish off everything that was in store at that Chowki at Gangasagar He almost won the entire bunkers after winning the entire barrack. but
a bullet from the enemy hit him on his
skull He wasted no time in using the hand grenade This was a signal for Kultar
to move ahead He did just what Albert told him to do Kultar completely took it
over as inspite of being hit by the bullet on the hand but the hand grenade three of which Albert used completely
ravaged the Pakistani barrack and the bunkers at that Chowki and they were
bereft of any idea. The guerilla attack he launched one after another and the
changing of the position as well as the firing he did with maculation
completely broke the resilence and the back of the Pakistani they were DEFEATED
by this ONE MAN whose name was ALBERT EKKA
However the counter assault by the Pakistani at the time of
his operation, in which two bullets hit
him one on the chest and the other on the mouth also made him to fall on his
ground Yet he kept attacking lest he felt that there was a HAND which has touched him at the back He turned around to see his
FIGHTING FRIEND Kultar over there He fell onto the shoulder of Kultar He was now
LIFELESS, SPINELESS and EBBLESS He could not thereafter see and was not in a
position to see anything He was tightly held by Kultar Kultar was trying to
infuse some life into him
He asked Kultar- SUB
THEEKH HAI NAA Kultar replied- SUB
THEEK HAI BHAI. APNAY AAP KOH SAMBHAAL MAI KUCH KARTAH HOON which means
Yes everything is fine You take care of yourself You are losing your life I’m
trying to do something so that your life is saved Just hold yourself .Kultar
could feel that the heart beats and the nerves beats of Alberty was slowing
down very briskly He took out some WINE
and said Albert isko pee Bhai Shayad
kuch Kaam Banay which means
Albert drink this Maybe some energy might be infused in your body
Albert knew it was a futile exercise and it was hoping
against all the hope to survive .He only asked- Bhai, Chowki Toh Apnay Kabje Mai Hai Naa which meams Friend
tell me is the Chowki under our control When he was assured that e the entire
Chowki was under the control of his unit he said Kultar wahan TIRANGAA DAAL DOH FEHRAA DOH AB YEH
ILAAKA HAMARA HAI which means Kultar hoist and host the TRI-COLOUR at
the start point of the Chowki Now this territory is our territory
He was at his wits ends of this saga of his ILLUSTRATRED LIFE He took out
the MOUTH ORGAN and a SAREE which he was carrying with
him He just handed to Kultar saying – YEH
SAREE MERAY PATNI TAK PAHUCHAA DENA AUR YEH MERA MOUTH ORGAN SAHAB MANECKSHAW
KOH AUR WAHAN SAY MERAY SASURJI KOH KEHNA ALBERT PAKISTAN JEETKAR CHALA GAYA
HAI which means hand over this saree to my wife I was carrying it with me to
give it over to her but now you have to do that Also hand over this mouth organ
to the Field Marshal and request him to send it to my Father-in-Law Tell them Albert is NO MORE He won Pakistan and he
has left this world for ever
The Message reached the Field Marshal and the Unit Comander
of those where 50 Indian Soldiers were waiting to enter the Chowki They wasted
no time in doing that and took the entire control of the Chowki by the start of
the next day
In the meantime Kultar using his sense started sending the
message to the Pakistani Officers there at Gangasagar that there was NOTHING to
worry about the Chowki as it was safe and fine under the FOUR Indian soldiers
and those who tried to be misadventures’ who tried to attack the Chowki were KILLED by
the Pakistani Army at the Chowki However the situation was such that Kultar had
to SLIT about 85 Pakistani soldiers who were held captive by Albert who was by
then DEAD and the other three Indian Soldiers
The FIGHT, the exchange of bullets and the tussle also had
hit Kultar He was not that serious as Albert but he was bleeding very badly
When he was approaching Albert after
hearing that sound of Hand Grenade he also had to kill some Pakistani soldiers
and in one such exchange of firing a bullet had hit his shoulder He was FULL of
PAIN but he was doing his duty for his MOTHERLAND
Albert after he found Kultar after hurlimng those han
grenade had given him a SAREE a MOUTH ORGAN and about 85 Pakistani Soldiers to be
checked This man Kultar was under severe pain Blood was oozing out of his body
and he was feeling drowsy A little wine the RUM just made him to be comfortable
by some minutes but the pain was killing him The Pakistani Soldiers under
captivity were waiting for him to fall asleep by any mean so that they would
run away
Sensing the situation Kultar felt it WOULD BE WISE IF THESE ARE ALL KILLED FOR IF THEY RUN AWAY THE
ADVANCEMENT OF THE INDIAN MILITARY THEN WILL NOT BE EASY AT ALL AND ALL THE
EFFORT OF ALBERT WILL GO WASTE ALBERT LAID HIS LIFE FOR THE CHOWKI AND IF IT
GOES BACK IT WOULD CARRY NO MEANING AT ALL He took out his KRIPAAN and he
SLITTED one by one all the captives of the Pakistani’s and went to a secluded
place within that Barrack for a SOUND SLEEP
Pic-4 The Widow of
Albert Ekka receiving the urns in 2008
The Indian Military next day took the control of the Chowki
. Albert was given a FULL NATIONAL
HONOUR and was cremated there at Gangasagar It was way back in 2008 if
I’m NOT wrong when his wife asked the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand to
try and get the ashes or the remains of his after last rites that the Indian Military handed the
urns to the widow
The clever ploy of Field
Marshal Manechshaw who without losing a MINUTE took over the control of
RADIO STATION, DHAKA which spread a
NEWS that WITHIN ONE DAY FOUR INDIAN SOLDIER COMPLETELY TOOK OVER BANGLADESH
AND ALL THE ONE LAKH PAKISTANI UNDER IT’S CONTROL spread a NERVE SHRIEKING
FEELING in the ENTIRE PAKISTANI ARMY IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THE SPINE OF THE
ENTIRE PAKISTAN ARMY AND IT’S BELIEF WAS SHATTERED TO THE GRINDS OF THE FINE
SANDS OR THE MUD IT WAS DEFEATED FROM THERE ITSELF
The Indian Army has narrated the entire incident in the manner
before the citation that he received it from the COUNTRY for his exemplary valor
describing it in this manner -::
As the war broke out, 14
Guards was attached to the IV
Corps. The capture of
Gangasagar, located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to the south Akhaura in the Brahmanbaria District, was crucial for the advancement of IV Corps,
and 14 Guards was tasked for that. As the operation began, the unit placed
itself south of Gangasagar, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from Akhaura
railway station, and formed its defences. The high ground around the railway
station was their main defence, followed by anti-tank and anti-personnel mines. During a patrol, Pakistani troops were found moving on the
railway tracks. Soon two companies of the battalion attacked the enemy
positions along the track.
CITATION-::
Lance Naik Albert Ekka was in the left forward company of a
battalion of the Brigade of Guards during their attack on the enemy defences at
Gangasagar on the Eastern front. This was a well-fortified position held in
strength by the enemy. The assaulting troops were subjected to intense shelling
and heavy small-arms fire, but they charged onto the objective and were locked
in bitter hand-to-hand combat. Lance Naik Albert Ekka noticed an enemy light
machine-gun (LMG) inflicting heavy casualties on his company. With complete
disregard for his personal safety, he charged the enemy bunker, bayoneted two
enemy soldiers and silenced the LMG. Though seriously wounded in this
encounter, he continued to fight alongside his comrades through the mile deep
objective, clearing bunker after bunker with undaunted courage. Towards the northern end of the
objective one enemy medium machine-gun (MMG) opened up from the second storey
of a well-fortified building inflicting heavy casualties and holding up the
attack. Once again this gallant soldier, without a thought for his personal
safety, despite his serious injury and the heavy volume of enemy fire, crawled
forward till he reached the building and lobbed a grenade into the bunker
killing one enemy soldier and injuring the other. The MMG however continued to
fire. With outstanding courage and determination Lance Naik Albert Ekka scaled
a side wall and entering the bunker, bayoneted the enemy soldier who was still
firing and thus silenced the machine-gun, saving further casualties to his
company and ensuring the success of the attack. In this process however, he
received serious injuries and succumbed to them after the capture of the
objective. In this action, Lance Naik Albert Ekka displayed the most
conspicuous valour and determination and made the supreme sacrifice in the best
traditions of the Army.
Lance-Naik Albert Ekka was posthumously awarded India's highest wartime gallantry
award, the Param Vir
Chakra. In 2000, on the occasion of 50th
Republic day, the Government of India issued a postal
stamp in his memory. The
son of Jharkhand was honored by naming the major
intersection in front of Firayalal store as Albert Ekka Chowk, which also bears his statue. A block (district subdivision) in Gumla has also been created in his name.
Sources says that the Government failed to take
care of his family and they are not in healthy state. Due to utter corruption
only words are being said on his birthdays and martyr days but no one is taking
care of family.
This Chowki and the sacrifice laid by ALBERT
opened the DOORS for the Indian Army to penetrate deep into Bangladesh, East
Pakistan then and finally on December 17th 1971 Mr Niazi the
CONTROLLER-IN-CHIEF of the Pakistani Army at East Pakistan at Dacca then, and
now Dhaka, surrendered to the Indian
Army where he SIGNED a SURRENDER LETTER to Mr Jagjit Singh Arora
Had it NOT the MOST APPROPRIATE decision and
the kind of the exchange of the WORDS to pacify Mrs Gandhi and SILENCE Babu
Jagjivan Ram in the correct manner and had not choosing his time and the cards
to play the game in a perfect manner by the Field Marshal Mr Maneckshaw- THE “ CHAMCHAA GIRIS ” OF THE CONGRESS THAT WAS EXHIBITED BY BABU
JAGJIVAN RAM WOULD HAVE PUT OUR COUNTRY INTO THE GRAVE THEN IF ANY OTHER CHIEF
OF THE ARMY OFFICER IN PLACE OF Mr MANECHSHAW WOULD HAVE DENCED TO Mrs GANDHI
AND HER MINISTERS WHO ESPECIALLY WERE THE YES MADAM MAN
This is HOW the Congress
ran from 1947 and this is the way they run the country THANKS to Mr Manecshaw
who taught Mrs Gandhi the RIGHT way to lead something as an example to win the
situation
Thank Mr Maneckshaw, Thank Albert Ekka and
THANK KULTAR BHAI for the same
Having read in the
