FACTS - " A " TO " Z " OF WORLD CUP FOOTBALL

ORIGIN OF THE IDEA OF WORLD CUP - :

A ). It all started from the PRISONER OR WAR of the 1914-1918 The prisoner of war from the World War I from the country of Italy, Hungary , Austria , Germany Romania and Denmark were lodged in a Central Jail Every evening they would play football for one hour only to KILL their BORING time and the Jail personnel would watch them with interest

Bouchard D’Warner a Jail Suprindentent then one day divided these prisoners into a team and made eight teams of these teams to play a “ ALL JAIL” Football tourment This Cup which he donated it for the tourney was named “ JAIL-BIRD ”  tourney . Every prisoner belonging to one nation was billed and clubbed to play for his nation and the leftovers made it the JAILBIRD I and JAILBIRD II team The teams were names as Jail Birds Austria, Jail Birds Hungary at some times for enabling two nations to play for each other.

Well that tourney within the jail saw Italy beating Hungary by 3-1 in the finals This message was passed on to the authorities and they made football a regular annual  festive till the prisoner were lodged in the jail This attracted many in the European  and their parts of the World lest in 1927-1928 after the Amsterdam Olympic FIFA was set up and formed as a body,  FIFA on the basis of some info that they could collect from Mr D’Warner arranged a World Cup tourney in 1930 with EIGHT teams and that gave rise to this MOST SPECTACULAR TOURNEY of the World

B ) . In the inaugural tourney of the World Cup 1930 Uruguay beat Argentine led by Alfred D Stefano by 4-2

C ) . Indonesia which was East-Indies then was the " FIRST ASIAN " team to play in the World Cup soccer from Asia.

D ) . ITALY - : Mussolini was a TERRIFIC Italian dictator . Football attracted him like anything . However he could not BEAT his rival Hitler when it came to the BRUTE and the STRENGHTH of his neighbor Adolf Hitler . He wanted to prove in either way that Italy as a nation  and the Italians  were FAR better than Hitler  and Germany as a nation and as a INDIVIDUAL STRIKE FORCE as a man He chose Football to showcase his strength and Italy to the WORLD

He took the entire REIN of the Italian Football in his arm and He PURPOSELY HELD THE WORLD CUP FOOTBALL IN ITALY IN 1938 Italy won TWO consecutive World Cup  world Cup in 1934 and in 1938 The 1938 World Cup held at Italy was KNOWN to all the PART of the World that Italy would win that and they won it On their part they SAW and that  in particular  and personally Mussolini saw to it that Italy somehow won The standard of the referring in the 1938 World Cup was at its Nadir and that was evident when in the semis against Brazil, Italy were awarded the two penalties from which they scored and defeated Brazil by 2-1 THERE WAS NOBODY WHO COULD QUESTION THE REFEREE AND MUSSOLINI AS THEY FEARED DEATH .

E ) . The ITALAIN TEAM OF 1938 WAS THE ENTIRE ARMY TEAM OF ITALY WHICH TOOK PART IN THE WORLD WAR 1940 – 1944 Not a SINGLE player of that team was a CIVILIAN . Mussolini himself prepared that team He made it very CLEAR  to the Italian team that that- IF YOU DO NOT WIN THAT WORLD CUP & HAND IT TO ME YOU WOULD BE KILLED That semis which Italy played against Brazil in which they beat Brazil by 2-1 in the semis was PERHAPS the MOST DESTRUCTIVE REFERRING in terms of the standard in the entire history of the WORLD CUP However Brazil had won the HARD-LINE ( BRONZE ) Medal in that tourney

F ) . TAKING A CUE FROM MUSSOLINI - : Iraq were on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup in 1998 The QUALIFIER gets an appearance fee for qualifying and playing in the World Cup and this is an ASTRONOMIAL amount . Uday Hussein the son of Saddam Hussain was the CHIEF of Iraq football team Iraq in its final lap failed to qualify as they were beaten by their ARCH-COUNTRY-RIVAL Iran . Uday took the entire Iraqi team to a unknown destination at Iraq- tied their hands at their back and the leg on their stomach . He chose the cane and made it to swell putting it in the edible oil for many a days and then one fine day he brought the Iraqi Army and CANED these Iraqi footballers like anything That is what he did Later he said that IF ANYBODY OF THESDE WHO WERE HIT AND TORTURED RAISED AN ALARM HE WOULD FACE DEATH AND WILL BE FLOGGED AND HANGED IN PUBLIC A Iraqi footballer KARIM ALWAI who was the member of the Iraqi Asian Games Team in 1982 at New Delhi later floated this news after he had shifted his base to USA

G ) . The 1000 th goal of the FIFA World CUP proper was scored in 1978 when Rep representing HOLLAND defeated Iran by 2-0 Holland went on to reach the finals but lost to Argentina by 1-3

H ) . Italy is the FIRST team on the Earth to win the World Cup on a back-to-back basis in 1934 and in 1938 Brazil is the second team to win it on a back – to – back basis in 1958 and 1962 . Holland is the FIRST team to loose two consecutive finals on a back to back basis in 1974 and in 1978

I ) . The First World Cup was played for 60 minutes in 1930 . The Third World Cup in 1938 was played for 70 minutes , the 1954 World cup was played for 80 minutes and then from 1958 the World cup has been played for 90 minutes

G ) . The tie- breaker system in the World Cup was started in 1982 but it was in 1986 that the FIRST tie breaker was applied It was when West Germany defeated Mexico on the penalty . Thereafter this tie breaker was responsible for Brazil to loose out to France in the quarters  in 1986.

H ) . Brazil won the FAIR PLAY TROPHY in 1958 , 1962 , 1970 , 1982 , 1986 , 2002 , for Six times as against their FIVE crowns

I ) . The FAIR PLAY TROPHY was introduced in the year 1954 It was done for the players to win it for their teams by doing the LEAST numbers of FOUL That was also to make the game pleasing and fair and avoid the referee to use the whistle for longer and very longer time

J ) . Just Fontaine in the 1958 edition representing France scored 13 goals in a single edition of a tournament That is still a RECORD for the HIGHEST number of goals scored in an single edition in a World Cup

K ) . Gred Mueller in the 1970 World Cup scored TWO different hat-trick in a single edition of a World Cup He is ONLY the ONE in the annals of the World Cup football to score TWO different HATTRICK in a single edition of a WORLD CUP

L ) . King Pele playing TWELVE matches for Brazil ( 1958 – 2 , 1962 – 1 , 1966 – 3 , 1970 -6 ) scored 12 goals for Brazil in TWELVE matches with a RATIO of 1:1 This is the BEST ratio in the World Cup for any players scoring that kind of a number of GOALS and PLEASE LOCK IT- AS THIS RECORD WOULD NOT BE BROKEN .

Brazilian goalkeeper Tafarrel did not concede a single goal in the 1986 World Cup till Brazil lost to France in the Quarters He did not concede a single goal till the 404 minutes till then in that tourney THIS RECORD OF NOT CONCEDING ANY GOALS TILL THE 404 MINUTES IN THE WORLD CUP PROPER IS STILL A WORLD RECORD OF ANY GOALKEEPER OF NOT CONCEDING A SINGLE GOAL TILL THAT MOMENT IN THE WORLD CUP AND THE RECORD STILL REMAINS

N ) . PELE the KING and GARRINCHA the MAGICIAN together from 1958 to 1966 playing for Brazil as a DUAL-PARTNER did not loose any match in the World Cup lest in 1966  when Hungary defeated Brazil by 3-1 That was for the first time that this pair lost the FIRST match as a DUAL-PARTNER player in the World Cup matches They were losing that match in the World cup for the FIRST time after about 16 matches THIS RECORD OF NOT LOSING ANY MATCHES TILL THE 16TH MATCH AS A PLAYER IS A WORLD RECORD HELD BY THIS DUO AND THIS IS STILL UNBROKEN

O ) . KING PELE EVEN AFTER WINNING THE THREE WORLD CUP IN 1958 1962 AND 1970 DID NOT TOUCH THE WORLD CUP IN ITS WINNING CEREMONY It was because the FANS always LIFTED him on their SHOULDERS and would not allow him to leave them even for the victory ceremony PELE IS THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD TO HAVE NOT TOUCHED THAT GLITTERING TROPHY AFTER HIS TAEM HAD WON HE TOUCHED IT IN THE DRESSING ROOM BUT COULD NOT IN THE FILED WHEN THE VICTORY CEREMONY WOULD GO

P ) . King Pele is the ONLY player in the ANNALS of the WORLD CUP HISTORY to PLAY in THREE World Cup finals and not only WIN that but score in all of the finals he played He was a member of the World Cup 1962 Brazilian team but could not play the finals as the opponent had injured him purposely However Brazil won that World Cup due to SINGLEHANDED OUTPUT that was provided to them by Garrincha

The BI-CYCLE shot was FIRST introduced and very FREQUENTLY used by Pele in the World Cup in 1958 and in the game against France which Brazil won by 5-3 Pele scored ONE goal of that shot and repeated it against Sweden in the finals The scissors shot was first introduced in the World Cup in the 1938 World Cup by Leonidas of Brazil. However it was “ LEONIDAS ” who invented the BI-CYCLE kick to use it for the FIRST time in the 1938 World Cup match.

R ) . In the ONLY incident which was PECULIAR the Brazilian team was relaxing and swimming in the SWIMMING POOL in the 1978 World Cup. All of a sudden the World Cup authorities came to them and to the Brailian squad it  SAID- COME ON YOU HAVE TO PLAY TODAY YOUR FIXTURE HAS BEEN ALTERED The Brazilian team was to play Peru the next day and the team was preparing for its game next by swimming and concentrating to keep cool as they had top play a very crucial game against Peru to qualify for the next The team was dragged into the filed by the authorities and was made to play Peru immediately after it reached the stadium without any warm up A cool Brazilian team beat Peru by 3-1 but Argentina defeated them ie Peru by 6-0 and the goal difference send Brazil out of the tourney for and into the race of World Cup semis . THAT IS THE ONLY INCIDENT OF THE WORLD CUP FIXTURE PREPONED BY A DAY Argentina won that World Cup and Brazil finished THIRD by beating Italy by 2-1

S ) . Bobby Charlton was accused of stealing a pair of socks from a shop at Mexico in 1970 It corroborated with Sudhir Naik stealing a pair of socks when the Indian cricket team toured England in 1974

T ) . BRAZIL IS THE ONLY TEAM SO FAR TO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN ALL THE 22 EDITION OF THE WORLD CUP AND BRAZIL IS THE FIRST TEAM TO HAVE SCORED 100 GOALS FOR IT’S TEAM IN THE WORLD CUP BRAZIL IS THE ONLY TEAM TO HAVE WON OVER 125 MATCHES SO FAR IN THE WORLD CUP PROPER

X ) . Franz Beckkenbauer is the FIRST player to have won the World Cup as a player in 1974 captaining the side and as a Coach in 1990 . It was then followed the by the French Captain who won it in 1998 as a player and then in 2018 as a Coach of the same team.

Y ) . The Mexican Goalkeepr of the 1986 World Cup is the YOUNGEST GOALKEEPER and the PLAYER in the World to have played World Cup for his country He was 17 days less as compared to Pele who played and made his debut for Brazil in 1958 as a 17 years old lad

Z ) . South Korea is the ONLY team from Asia to have played a World Cup semis in 2002 when they held that tourney at Asia along with Japan in 2002

In a separate manner TODAY I’m placing to the WORLD that the man who INVENTED and INTRODUCED the “MAGIC” and the BEAUTIFUL-FLOWING-FOOTBALL in terms of anything that the game produces the MAGIC is Leonodas of Brazil.It was his game that the Brazilians POETS and AUTHOR after 1938 gave a NEW name to the BRAZILIAN brand of  football which they call it “JOGO-BONITA” which means  “ BEAUTIFUL GAME ” .

WITH DUE RESPECT “NO” TO KING PELE - NO AND NEVER FOR THE SAME 

A lot of those who DO NOT KNOW any history of FOOTBALL have always termed Pele as the KING and the PEARL of football. YES- that is a fact. But everybody has gone to say that the BI-CYCLE and the SCISSORS kicked too were invented by him.

NO- NO , NO and NO is the answer.

Pele gave EVERYTHING NEW to football in terms of everything. BUT IT WAS “ LEONIDAS ” who FOUNDED out the JOGO-BONITA and all the magic of football for Brazil and the two kicks, the “ BI-CYCLE ” and the “ SCISSORS ” were his inventions

 Please follow the same and see Leonidas executing the BI-CYCLE kick in the World Cup 1938, as ascribed and depicted in the U-Tube to QUELL all your DOUBTS for the same. TWENTY  YEARS after  the WORLD 1938 ,  again ,  when it was held at Sweden in 1958, eveybody saw KING PELE doing that in Sweden against France first, and then again against Sweden in the finals to score TWO goals of those TWO kicks.

If you see that your DOUBTS would be cleared.

Infact Leonidas played in ONE of the edition of the World Cup in 1938 for Brazil and he scored EIGHT goals for Brazil in that tourney. Seeing  him play in that manner the Italians had planned that if he was fielded against Italy in the semis then they would be PHYSICAL on him for anything.

That he would meet with the injuries, the Brazilian coach of the 1938 did not play him at all in the FIRST half. Italy under Mussolini, took the advantage of the same. They knew that if Leonidas was fielded he would upset all the plans of Mussolini to win the World Cup 1938 for Italy.

In the game that was supervised by the two Italian referee, they awarded TWO penalties to the Italian team in the first half which the Italians converted.

Leonidas was brought in as as as substitute in the SECOND HALF  and though he was BRUTALLY treated with whenever he received the ball,  by the Italians, he scored OF A BI-CYCLE KICK for Brazil. But Brazil lost that match by 1-2 to Italy. They however won the hard-line match to win the third place.

It was then in 1950 when the World Cup football was again put on the track, that the FIFA decided that NEVER THE  REFERESS OR ANY LINESMAN belonging to the same country would SUPERVISE the game together for a match.

The world Cup were not held in 1942 and in 1946 due to the WW-II , else Leonidas would have become the FIRST ever player to score TEN goals as an individual for his team in the World Cup proper football match.

His EIGHT goals remained as  the WORLD-RECORD for most number of goals scored by any individual in the World Cup prope from 1938 to 1958, for all the World Cup proper football games, and  matches,  till “ JUST FONTAINE ” of France broke that when he scored THIRTEEN goals in ONE edition of the 1958 world Cup match to break that record

 “ THE MAXIMUM AND THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF GOALS SCORED BY A SINGLE PLAYER IN ONE EDITION OF THE WORLD CUP FOOTBALL MATCHES, PROPER , STILL REMAINS IN THE NAME OF JUST FONTAINE AS OF NOW ” .
