The Two
“ M ” A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT “ TWO ” who “redefined” GREATNESS : Manohar and Mohammed As if there was a HUGE big EDIFICE which was constructed in such a manner that it STOOD on the TWO huge big pillar. As if suddenly a TORNADO had hit the world and the two pillars too crumbled like anything.
June 3rd ands June 4th would see the RED COLOUR always scripting a message on the wall. It would read that on June 3rd a PILLAR of BOXING gave it away to the test of time and June 4th would go as the another one the FATHER OF BODY BUILDING collapsed and wilted under the pressure of the TORNADO of the age taking it away who stood beside it also crumbled and went off for ever from this universe. Let me again say that when personally when I feel and think about it I feel the loss of TWO huge and GREAT institution of PHYSICAL POWER of SPORTS going away from us.
“ Both were the EPITOME of BRUTE,POWER, DYANAMITE STRENGTH and above all-GREATNESS ” .
Cassius Clay was not from the heaven. He was from here on the EARTH .He scripted many a tales which are infact nothing sort of parables having an heavenly meaning but to be narrated on and over here in the earth. He won and then lost, then he won and then lost, and again he won and then lost. For everytime he LOST he came back ROARING like a FEROCIOUS LION to win and to make it very clear- LOSING CAUSES ME “ INDIGESTION ”.
His aura laid on the fact that when he WON- HE WON. But what was more important was- WHEN HE LOST HE REALLY WON
Each of his victory was Large but each of his defeat was the LARGEST
He really was a MAGIC to be watched on the ring. The fact was NEVER that he was being hit. He actually LIKED being HIT. He always use to say his opponents in the RING- “ COME ON SHOW ME YOUR PUNCH ” .
It happened with George Foreman in Kinshasha at Zaire. Zaire was wanting to be known here on the Earth as an evolving nation. It had made it to the World Cup Finals show in 1974 but it came out with a stigma. Yugoslavia had defeated it by 9-1 in one of their League match and that was it. It required a name and the W B A gave it another chance to hold it show by arranging a World Title bout between Cassius Clay-alias-Mohammmed Ali and the reigning World Champion George Foreman.
A fifteen rounds of bout it was. Foreman had come with many a tag. Twice in two years he knocked out Joe Frazier. Then there were one after another including the sparring partner and another illiustrious boxer of that time Ken Norton .Not even any bout could go further round three against Foreman.
Came the moment and came the man Kingshasha at Zaire was to witnessed a 15 round of bout between the two GREATS. One ie Cassisus Clay alias Mohammed Ali, was he who often would say- I BECAME THE GREATEST EVEN BEFORE BECOMING GREAT.
He would very PROUDLY say that the lexicographers included THE WORD GREATEST INCLUDED IN THE DICTIONARY AFTER WATCHING THE GREATEST IN ME HERE. Another ie George Foreman, was being termed as the one who was definitely inching toward being GREAT
Pic :: Mohammed Ali slanting on the rope to sway away one from Foreman
When the bout started Ali was given LEFT-RIGHT- CENTRE and TIGHT. However he survived. For every each round that Foreman gave him hard and TIGHT Ali would say- GEORGE IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME, GIVE ME MORE BECAUSE I LIKE TAKING MORE.He would bend on the rope slant his body and say to Foreman- GIVE ME and HIT ME HARD.Show me that you can hit hard. It went till the seventh round and all Ali would do is SUCK THE SWEETNESS OF FOREMAN’S LIFE SUCKING PUNCH.
Just the bell rang to mark the end of the seventh round and Ali turning to Foreman said- I TOOK IT ALL GEORGE, NOW GET REDAY FOR TAKING IT BACK. I would use the same technique to give it back to you. Mine would be even sweeter.
The start of the eight round and the start of the second minute.ONE CRUSHING RIGHT HAND HOOK ON FOREMAN’S HEAD FOLLWED BY A SOLID LEFT JAB IN HIS MOUTH AND ONE MORE A REAL SOLID RIGHT HOOK ON FOREMAN’S FACE WAS ALL THAT IT NEEDED A AND FOREMAN WAS ON THE FLOOR Foreman was favourite by 5-2 and 5+2=7 rounds it took for Ali to guage Foreman before the eight saw it –END for ALL. “ I’M The “ GREATEST ” Ali roared again
“ I’M THE GREASTEST SCREAMED ALI AND GREATNESS WOULD BE MEASURED BY MAPPING AND TAPING ALI HE ROARED ”.
GREAT is a WORD which we USE it as if that is found floating in the drains. However GREATS are Maharana Pratap, Shivaji Maharaj, Rana Sangram Singh, Ashoka, Chandra Gupta Maurya or even Chanakya. Napolean Bonaparte and so on and so forth. GREAT was Gautam Buddha and there have been mnay a GREAT
Great are not those who people make them great but are those who COMPLETELY turn the METAPHORMOSIS by changing them from ash to the SUN. Great ought to be achieved by doing miraculously GREAT and till the moment you are not the GREAT you cannot inch toward its stardom that is GREATNESS.
GREAT “ It comes out from the POOREST of the POOR
Great come out from the POOREST of the POOR and not from the RICHEST of the RICH. Great come out from the very ordinary and never from the court or the legacy for the Kings or Maharaja. The names that I have mentioned here are all from the POOREST of the POOR family who converted them into great. Great are not the LOOTERS, DESTRUCTORS, DEMOLISHERS, RAPISTS or SELF PROCLAIMED ENTITIES. Greats are those who rise from the ashes of the IMPOVERISH and turn themselves into the GLORIES OF THE SUN.
Drat and GREAT - they go hand in hands . They behave in a different manner, talk differently throw a very DIFFERENT kind of challenges, and create something very different. They use the simplest of the simple method to put something very extraordinary to believe and see that they have laid GREATNESS Great never is inherited- GREATNESS IS MOULDED .
Manohar Aich : A “ GREAT “ Father ” Of Body Building and his physique at the age of eighty
Great are born even without eating anything GOOD,PURE, NUTRITIOUS and CALORIFIC.That was exemplified by Manohar Aich. Frankly – HE WAS AN INDIAN, A VERY POOR MAN, FROM A VERY SIMPLE FAMILY, NEVER GOT TO EAT THAT VERY SOLID FOOD, YET HE WAS THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THIS EARTH.
Eating for most of the time-" PANTHAA BHAATH ” a stale rice which is gulped by the poorest of the poor Bengali for most of his days this man surprised everybody when he won the WORLD “ Mr UNIVERSE TITLE ” in 1955 . The BEST THIGH, the BEST CALF MUSCLES , the BEST ARM , and the BEST CHEST those were his other additions in terms of the WORLD TITLES that he participated regularly from 1956 to about 1967
The world would not believe that an INDIAN was so powerful when it came it came to power. He proved it that that Indians do posses the best of the POWER. His deeds surprised many when he could flex his muscle and variate it in that event of the WORLD PHYSIQUE CHAMPIONSHIP and that was something that NEVER had happened in the competition so far. ELASTICITY of the muscle and POWER to it was his campaign and slogan and it was performed to the HILT BEST.
Mr Satyajit Roy : First to meet him and dedicate his MUSCLES POWER in ONE of his film
When he came back to India- Mr Satyaji Ray was the FIRST to meet him at the airport. “ KAMOUN KORAY KORLAY ” was Manikda( Mr Satyajit Ray) asked, and pat came the reply- “ PAANTHAA BHAAT KAHEEYA” That is how Mr Satyajit Ray paid his glowing respect and HONOURED that UNKNOWN man from the land of BENGAL in one of his film. .
Great is not he who seizes, great is NEVER he who snatches, great is never at all who inherits, great is never at all who thinks that IS IT MY RIGHT TO INHERIT AS I BELONG TO THE LEGACY.
GREAT is who and GREAT is HIM – “ WHO CREATES HIS MOMENT OF GREATNESS ” . Great are born SIMPLE but made a STAR by their own individual effort and BRAIN. They work toward it. When they achieve it they BECOME one- THE “ GREAT ”
Sports will be there. Sports will have many over there. Sports will create many like them there, Sports will boast about many of them in the near future-here and there.
SPORTS WILL NEVER IN FUTURE HAVE A MANOHAR AICH OR EVEN ARGUABLY ONE OF THE GREATEST OF THE WORLD OF SPORTS CASSIUS MARCELLUS CLAY –ALIAS- MOHAMMED ALI.
If the Government of the day knows how to HONOUR a person and if Mr Manohar Aich has never be conferred the Padma Shri for Sports(Bodybuilding), the Modi Government should confer it to him without any ado.
With them GONE for ever – ONE OF THE “ LIGHT ” OF THE WORLD OF SPORTS HAS GONE FOR EVER.
With them going away from us and from the world - Body building and Boxing are ONE EYED BLIND for ever.
Regards
