IT’S ALL “ FOOTBALL ” AND " FOOTBALL " “ BUMPS ” AND PRODUCES " SPECTACLES "

Head Pic ::  Mr Jules Rimet , the "GOD FATHER" of  all the " SPORTS " And Football
IT’S ALL “ FOOTBALL ” AND FOOTBALL “ BUMPS ” AND  PRODUCES SPECTACLES
I have received some request from the sporting fraternity especially from the US, Canada and some from the region of COMMOMWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT NATION where we have Ukraine, Latvia, and some of the friends who stay at Latin American countries from Brazil, Hondirad, Argentine to name a few to write some facts and interesting notes of and on FOOTBALL
Respecting them for their request and also to satisfy them by all means I have decided to pen and jot some facts about FOOTBALL which would make an interesting reading .
Many from Kolkatta who regularly read my write up in my blog page and who are interested in sports especially football have been requesting me to write on East Bengal football club . Well that is another matter to write a book. If MY MOOD commands me to do it I WILL< but however of late and till now MY MOOD had and HAS  NOT commanded me at all about that matter and the subject.
Today I write some of the facts on football to satisfy all my friends world over.
MOST SPECTATORS :: FOOTBALL
In a match between Sao Paolo club and Botofiga in which Pele was playing for Sao Paolo and Garrincha was playing for Botofiga on September 1959 there were about 1,23,000 spectators who were witnessing the match The score was 3-3 at the end of the play Pele scored a hattrick for Sao Paolo and Garrincha scored a hatt-trick for Botofiga
I’m hereby putting the video clip of that match where in the FIRST minute one would see how Pele scored one of the goal for Sao Paulo in that match against Botofoga
https://youtu.be/_EaYH7rYyD4 ( This is the link and one can see that by clicking on that ).
The spectators present at the stadium on that day about which I have written here also could be seen by the naked eye.
In the World Cup match finals played between Brazil and Uruguay at the Sao Paolo stadium 1,28,000 spectators had attended to witness the match The finals saw Uruguay beating Brazil by 2-1 to win its second World Cup title and that was in 1950.
The third highest spectators were cornered at the salt lake stadium when the Fed Cup semis was played between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan

Pic- : Spectators 1,25,000 on that day East Bengal -  4, Mohun Bagan – 1
East Bengal that day with Baichung Bhutia scoring a hattrick defeated Mohun Bagan by 4-1 The total number of the spectators who saw the match was numbered at 1,18,676 The Salt Lake stadium has the capacity to hold 1,25,000 spectators
INDIA THE HIGHEST & MOST NUMBER
India holds the RECORD for staging the MOST number of football trophies in terms of the tournament
From 1958-59 to 1974-75 every year in India there use to be 125 football tournament held in this country
The 20 states then held 15 football tournament including the All India Police Football tournament, the All India Railway football tournament The All India Services football tournament beside the Women's football tournament
One would not believe it even the FIFA but then that is the truth
THE " INAUGURAL WORLD CUP - 1930 "
Story in a short measure
There was a utter disagreement between then the CEO of World Football Mr Jules Rimet and the President of the IOA to include or exclude football in the Olympics Olympic football was then hardly witnessed at the places where the organisers of the Olympics hoisted this event
It is said that in the 1924 Olympic games in football only 100 spectators or even less than that had attended to see the game The Olympic Football tournament of 1924 and 1928 was won by Uruguay .
The argument was football was a tough physical game and the kind of the fouls are created that nobody wishes to appreciate that and that football as an event also from the Olympics ought to be banned
Mr Jules Rimet took upon the challenge and he threw a challenge to the CEO of the World Olympic Body saying that by twelve years he would make football as the MOST WATCHED and the MOST LOVING game in the World Football now is the MOST watched game and not only that IT IS THE KING OF ALL THE GAMES THAT IS PLAYED WORLD WIDE
Uruguay who won the Olympic titles of football in 1924 and in 1928 agreed to hoist the First World Cup football in 1930
On July 13, 1930, France defeats Mexico 4-1 and the United States defeats Belgium 3-0 in the first-ever World Cup football matches, played simultaneously in host city Montevideo, Uruguay. The World Cup has since become the world’s most watched sporting event.
After football (soccer, to Americans) was dropped from the program for the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles, FIFA President Jules Rimet helped to organize an international tournament in 1930. Much to the dismay of European footballers, Uruguay, winner of back-to-back gold medals at the 1924 Paris Olympics and 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, was chosen to host the inaugural World Cup.
Due to depression in Europe, many European players, afraid their day jobs would not exist when they returned, were either unable or unwilling to attend the tournament. As a result, some of the most accomplished European teams, including three-time Olympic gold medalist England and football enthusiasts Italy, Spain, Germany and Holland did not make an appearance at the first World Cup. However, when Uruguay agreed to help pay traveling expenses, Rimet was able to convince Belgium, France, Romania and Yugoslavia to make the trip. In Romania, King Carol selected the team members himself, gave them a three-month vacation from their jobs and guaranteed the players would be employed when they returned.
PLAYERS CALLED BACK TO FINISH GAME - ::
Well one might not believe that but there is an incident in the proper World Cup football game that after blowing the final whistle the referee had to call back the players to finally complete the ACTUAL legal time of the game.
Going into the tournament, Uruguay and Argentina were the overwhelming favorites, while France and the United States also fielded competitive sides. In the first round, France’s Lucien Laurent scored the first-ever World Cup goal. In its second game, France lost to Argentina 1-0 amid controversy over the referees ending the game six minutes early. Once the problem was discovered, the referees had to bring the Argentine players back onto the field to play the final minutes. After beating Belgium, the United States beat Paraguay to set up a semi-final match with Argentina, which they lost 6-1. Still, the semi-final placement was the best U.S. World Cup finish to date.
In the first World Cup final, held on July 30, 1930, 93,000 spectators looked on as Uruguay defeated Argentina 4–2 in a rematch of the 1928 Olympic gold medal game. Uruguay went on to win its second World Cup in 1950 with a 2-1 win over Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
Well that was in 1930 and this is 2020 Ninty years have passed by and there have been Brazil ( 5 ) , Germany and Italy ( 4 times each ) , Uruguay & Argentina ( 2 ) , England , Spain, and France all these nation have won the World Cup football
Football now has become the talking point in every house and now a total of 207 small and big nation play this game It sees only 32 entering the main fray and ONLY " ONE " as the winner of this tourney
Some of the BEST matches in the World Cup - ::
The World Cup always produces some of the results which could be topsy-turvy and there are some matches which goes in the book of the history to remain as an inspiration for ever There and these are the matches which holds so much of a history and which has covered so much of space of the pages People memory being short I reproduce those illustrations and the write up of those matches in short-::
A ) . East – Indies versus Belgium : 1930 Montevideo Uruguay
East Indies were none but the Indonesians They were invited to play this tournament at Montevideo the place where the Uruguayans had held the inaugural tournament in 1930 The tiny small Indonesians were a team that comprised of three players from the British Indonesian Army and the remaining of them were from the British Indonesian Police To the surprise of every human being of the world the East-Indies held Belgium to a 1-1 draw after leading for about 88 minutes in the match.
B ) . U S A versus Italy : 1950 : Sao Paulo Stadium Brazil
The USA has ONE record in the World of football that NOBODY alive would know THEY WERE THE SEMI-FINALIST OF THE 1930 WORLD CUP AND THEY FINISHED FOURTH IN THAT TOURNEY
After 1930 the USA played its next competitive World Cup in 1950 The FIFA President Mr Alf Ramsay had seen the Indian footballers play bare footed in the London Olympics in 1948 He was absolutely out of words and sense when he saw the Indians doing that The Indians in the 1948 Olympics played its first game against France and were beatebn by 2-1 Raman who scored for India became a NATIONAL HOUSEHOLD name The Indians could have equalized had not Sailen Manna missed that penalty against France The performance of India was so good that Mr Alf Ramsay extended the invitation to the Indian Prime Minister Jawarlala Nehru to send an Indian team to the 1950 World Cup football The Indian Government rejected the offer saying that the country was so poor that he could not afford spending football boots to the players let apart spending on sending the team to Sao Paulo and bringing it back
With India backing out the invitation was extended to USA who readily accepted the offer USA in the first of its match in the history of the World Cup defeated Italy by 1-0 to send a shock to the World of football that one could not have believed that Italy were the winners of the 1934 and the 1938 edition of football and this defeat completely dismantled the imagination of those who believed and played football or were connected to it THIS DEFEAT OF ITALY IS CONSIDERED PERHAPS TO BE THE MOST SHOCKING RESULT IN THE ANNALS OF THE WORLD CUP SOCCER
C ) . North- Korea versus Portugal : London , 1966 World Cup
This match is the FIRST of so many of the match where a team conceding more than two goals and trailing behind till about more than 2/3 of the match saw the trailing team winning at the end North Korea were a surprise packet of the World Cup 1966 that was played at England The Koreans to the surprise of many and many reached the Quarter Finals where they were to play Portugal led by Eusobio To the surprise of many the Koreans took the lead well before the half time and after that they hit two more to make it 3-0 with only 13 minutes and the injury time to be played Led by a tornado created by Eusobio the Portugal team scored five goals from the 78th minute till the end of the game This match is remembered as the CLASSICAL BEST of the BEST matches that has been played till , in the World Cup
D ) . Romania versus Brazil , 1970 World Cup Mexico
Brazil has and Brazil is remembered by the entire World as the ONE which completely demolished and ravaged its opponent in the 1970 World Cup But does anybody knows what happened to Brazil when it took on the Romanians in the Quarters of the 1970 World Cup Well it is here
As against the expectation of the most and of the World the Romanians took the lead very early against Brazil Thereafter Brazil equalized just after the resumption of the play in the second half with Jairzinho scoring an spectacular goal dribbling past about seven Romanians in a piercing run from the right
One Of The Most “ SPECTACULAR” Free Kick Of Pele
The cheers had hardly dies when Romania again scored of a beauty The Brazilians then again equalized through Rivelino to make it 2-2 It appeared that the match would end in a draw when Brazil got a free-kick about 40 yards from the Romanian goal . Pele and Tostao along with Carlos Alberto went up to take that shot The Romanian constructed a wall and there were seven of then standing in that wall to thwart that shot All of a sudden Jairzinho came up and from the right he took his position – two men from the right of the Romanian to stand on the Wall
I’m placing the video link and the U Tube link of that goal against Romania that Pele scored of that INFAMOUS free kick which gave Brazil the all important goal to mark their quarter final victory over Romania
U Tube Link Of That Goal - https://youtu.be/_bjX9UIGbzU (Click here to see that FreeKick)
Pele came in charging to take a shot and just when Pele was to touch the ball Jairzinho just sat at his place There was a gap created between the pace where Jorzinho’s head would be if he stood and the second bar Pele saw that gap and like an arrow shot the ball the ball as if it was shot from the canon and as if it came from the mouth of the canon with full force and thrust pierced that gap and like an arrow as if shot by either Bheeshma Pitama or Arjun the warrior travelled like an arrow with tremendous velocity and entered the goal just an centimeter from the inside of the second bar to give Brazil the all important goal  The shot travelled like an arrow shot at the target and just with that a kind of accuracy and the speed the ball entered the goal. THAT SHOT THAT FREE KICK OF PELE IS STILL CONSIDERED TO BE THE MASTER PIECE AND PERHAPS THE BEST FREE KICK TAKEN BY ANY PLAYER TO SCORE A GOAL. This match too is billed as the match of the last millennium by Brazil
E ) . West Germany versus Italy 1970 Mexico Semis
Reeva-Reevalina – Muelleur-Suelleur This is what the match is named as Reevalina and Rivelino appears to be the same when you hear but Rivelino was the member of that infamous Brazlian team which won the World Cup in 1970 and Reevalina was the one who scored in the finals against Brazil but to finsh as the Runners-up This was the semis of the world Cup 1970 Italy took the lead and was sitting pretty when in the dying minute the Germans equalized
Theater the extra time saw FIVE goals Italy made it 2-1 in the first quarter of the first extratime and Germany equalized through Mueller in the dying minutes of the first half of the first extra time In the second half of the first extra time the Germans went up through a goal by Suelleur to lead 3-2 and immediately in the last gasping dying minute Reeva of Italy scored to make it 3-3
The SUDDEN DEATH the first of its KIND in the WORLD CUP SOCCER followed and the Italians were able to score through Reeva to see them through Franz Beckauenbauer played with a fractured arm with his hand plastered in the defense That was the match
F ) > West Germany versus England 1970 , Mexico
This was the quarter finals that Germany was playing England were the 1966 World Cup champion They ie England  were beaten by Brazil by 1-0 in their opening match Then again Bobby Charlon was accused of stealing a pair of socks from a shop at England This hit the mental make up of the English
England made it to the quarters where they were to face West Germany England led by 2-0 at the half time After the half time Gred Muelleur completely turned the match in Germany’s favour with him scoring a hattrick This match had many a pulsating moment before the Germans scored and came out winner.
G ) . Brazil Versus Chile World Cup 1962 , Chile
This was the semis Brazil were playing with a squad that had Pele who was not playing as because he was injured In the first match against Mexico in the 1962 World Cup playing that match Pele scored a goal to put Brazil ahead but in the process in the course of the game he very badly injured his right foot and was taken off THAT SAW THE MAGIC OF GARRINCHA COMING OUT OF THE BASKET LIKE THE SNAKE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE BASKET BY THE “ SAPERA “ ie the SNAKE CHARMER
Chile fell back to Brazil by 1-0 to equalize Playing in front of the 90,000 capacity of the home crowd and supported by a vociferous Chilean crowd the home team took the advantage to score one more after drawing level to take an early lead Garrincha then DRIBBLED the entire country of CHILE and whizzed past everything including the Office of the President of Chile , as if , to say and to describe it to help the Brazilians to score three , one of Mario Zagallo as well who hit three in the finals against the Czecks Republic to win this game by 4-2 .

FEET MAGICIAN GARRINCHA CRIED THE ENTIRE NEWSPAPER OF THE WORLD
People create and do magic with HANDS but Garrincha does it with his FEET wrote all the newspaper of the WORLD for the kind of a show that Garrinch displayed
GARRINCHA WAS AWARDED THE GOLDEN BOOT AND THE GOLDEN BALL FOR HIS DISPLAY
GARRINCHA IS THE FIRST FOOTBALLER WHO WAS AWARDED WITH BOTH THE GOLDEN BALL AND THE GOLDEN BOOT IN ONE EDITION OF THE WORLD CUP
Well this is for the day
Thanks
Regards
