Drugs, Alchohol and Addiction :: A Different Image For Different People - Finding " SOLACE " In Their Vice
Pic :: Drug Addicted Finding " SOLACE " In Their Vice .
Nothing so very unusual and nothing so very new to hear and learn
all about the druggist and the addiction of the drugs. This was there in a very
unusual manner before the seventies but the film “ HARE RAMA HARE KRISHNA ”
and the way the film exhibited the young minds and the young age taking
drugs made it far more easy for the youths from then to fall into a habit of
taking it at their fancies and now it has become a fashion of the day for
everybody to take it in one form or the other.
Drinking, smoking also are a part of addiction and when the
likes of CHARAS, GANJA or the MARIJUANA coupled with the wine, enters into the fray it
becomes a total case of drug addiction and addiction is what the world has
become. In any form or in any way people are
addicted to the drug.
Addiction :: Different
Images For Different People
The word “ addiction ”
brings to mind different images for different people. It can be difficult for
someone suffering with an addiction or potential addiction to identify with the
term “ addict.” And it can be especially trying for a young person.
Teenagers have a
different visualization on addiction and they are different with a different
concept when they fall to the prey of addiction.Their visualization is something
that defies logic as many say that they saw their peers taking and enjoying
the drugs and they too fell trying hard to enjoy the same.
Teens commonly associate addiction with movie images, or people
they’ve seen at the absolute lowest, worst point of their addiction. Many have
ideas about what an addict looks like: desperate, homeless, suicidal, criminal.
With these ideas in mind, it’s hard for them to understand how their drug or
alcohol use is a problem — after all, their consequences seem less extreme.
It’s true; the external effects of someone using at age 16 are
often much less severe or obvious. They might get in trouble at school, get
grounded by their parents, fight with their friends or lose relationships. And
they’ll often write off these consequences as other people’s problems, not
seeing how their own behavior is a direct result of their substance use. They
often say things such as: “My parents are freaking out. If they would just
chill out, everything would be fine,” “Everyone else is doing the same thing; I
just got caught,” “I haven’t been using for that long,” or “I can stop whenever
I want.” Combine false assumptions about addiction and placing blame on parents
and other adults — and they have a ready-made excuse to distract them from
taking an honest look at themselves and how their substance use is affecting
their lives.
Parential Problems ::
Parential problems
Parents are always a
complex issues to the child and the children as the children's or the child’s
are to them. They often keep on blaming each other rather than balancing each
other. No sooner that a parent sees his son or his daughter taking drugs they
make them the scapegoat of every horrible sin that exists on the earth. The
children in turn start blaming their parents for any of their sins that they
do or they fall into.
. Parents too have their own share of problems for falling a
prey to this heinous disease. The belief of the parents are suicidal too. They
always have a pre-misconceived notion that most of the times are baseless to be
found as such in one wishes to find it. They have some kind of a notion, which
also are purposelessness and without any ado.
Just as teens do, parents
have their own images of what someone with a drug problem looks like, and it
can be as extreme as the child’s view. These preconceived notions help parents
stay in denial of a potential problem. Plus, they lead to false measurement
tools. Parents think, “If my kid had a problem, she’d be getting bad grades” or
”Clean-cut polite kids don’t use drugs.” Parents can easily fall victim to the
false belief that if their child is not behaving in a way the parent associates
with addiction, then there is not a problem.
With parents, kids and others sharing this stigma about
addiction, many drug problems slip through the cracks, and that allows for
worst-case scenario circumstances to develop when the warning signs might have
been there years earlier.
These does not solves any
problems either. Nothing comes out of it as
solution either. No possible and plausible inferences too are drawn as
the experiment too is also not complete in the sense that the end is not to be
seen at all. Many subjudicate beliefs come into the foreplay but that are never
the inferences and those can never be the one’s.What does this all add up to?
Addiction or not, drug or alcohol abuse is worthy of scrutiny by both the
person using and his or her family. Worst-case scenarios are often avoidable by
looking past preconceived ideas of addiction and looking honestly at the
effects of substance abuse on the user’s life.
Beneficiaries are “ NEVER
” the addicts ::
If you or a loved one has been abusing drugs or alcohol, there
is no need to wait until you are absolutely positive there is an addiction
present to seek help or to stop using. Addicts are not the only people who
benefit when they quit using drugs or drinking.
Recovery programs for young people offer the chance for teens to
identify with others who have similar experiences and stories. And thanks to
these programs, many young people who have not crossed the line into addiction
have stopped using and found happier, more fulfilling lives without
experiencing the severity of long-term addiction.
Why are drugs especially dangerous for young people?
Young people's brains are
growing and developing until they are their mid-20's. This is especially true of
the prefrontal cortex, which is used to make decisions. It is this time of
making a decision or taking a decision that requires a strong dissectible
substitution, in terms of the proper and the appropriate decision about what
that one is going to do the next is the worst or the bad that one can do.
Consuming the drugs at any stage or for anything can only bring about a bad or
the worst repercussion and nothing good at the end are served by that. The body
slowly loses it’s composure for everything and the internal damage is done and the measure of it is absolutely
unmeasurable. It generally kills the human body surely but in a phased and a
sustainable manner and that is sure for the take. Taking
drugs when young can interfere with developmental processes occurring in the
brain. It can also affect their “ decision-making
” . They may be more likely to do risky things, such as unsafe sex and
dangerous driving.
The earlier young people start using drugs, the greater their
chances of continuing to use them and become addicted later in life. Taking
drugs when you are young can contribute to the development of adult health
problems, such as heart disease, high
blood pressure, and sleep
disorders.
Which drugs most commonly used by young people?
The drugs that are most commonly used by young people are alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana.
Recently, more young people have started taking tobacco and
marijuana. There is still a lot we don't know about the dangers of vamping or
vaping ?. . Some people have unexpectedly gotten very ill or have even died
after vaping.. Because of this, young people should stay away from vaping.
Causes of Drug Addiction
There
are a number of reasons why youth and teenagers are addicted to drugs or related
substances. Lack of self-confidence is considered as one of the primary causes
of drug addiction. It can also be due to excessive stress, peer pressure, lack
of parental involvement in child’s activities etc. and there can be much as
well as I would not know the exact reasons for the same. I can just cite some
exmples which can find good marks on the leaves and the pages or bad that
depends but cases could be multiple and
various and in many cases- “ MANY ”
. Some people consider drug addiction can be the cause of drug use and
ignorance. The ignorance of drug addiction along with physical pain of
condition becomes a primary cause of drug addiction. Here are some of the
causes of drug addiction.
High Level Stress
Young
people who have just started their college life or moved to a new city in
search of job often face problems with life change. They are more likely to
alleviate stress through the use of drugs and similar substances. Finding an
easy fix often seems easier than facing the real problem and dealing with it.
Trying illegal drugs can lead to addiction and becomes a long term habit.
Social Pressure
Today,
we are living in a highly competitive world and it is difficult to grow in such
world. There is always a peer pressure in young and old people. However, it is
never visible. A lot of young people expect to experience the pressure to use
drugs, smoke and drink alcohol. Young people find it difficult to be the person
who doesn’t drink or smoke. As they feel isolated and like a social outcast,
they make a habit of taking drugs.
Mental Health Conditions
It is said that a strong mind does not need
anybody and anything for themselves to survive and take on the WRATH of the ROTTEN world. It is only the
WEAK mind that runs for the hapeless
moment to get away from them and this more often than not takes them to the
world of drugs as they find themselves relieved and comfortable when they use
this nuisance. Another primary reason for trying drugs is mental health
condition. People who are emotionally weaker tend to feel depressed about the
facts of the world. They look for ways to feel free and live life in a normal
way as they go through the period of growing up. In such situation, they make a
habit of taking drugs and can lead to addiction.
Psychological Trauma
Certain incident in life are such that one
finds it very hard to overcome it or come out of the same. Psychological factor is such that ertain incidents are never
wiped out of the mind at all. It is said that – LIFE OUGHT TO BE TAKEN EASY but that is with less than 1% of the people or the inhabitants. 99% of the people are made of the stuff
that life is never an easy matter for them to forget the bad incident or the
heinoius one for them to wipe it off their memory .The end result is many fall
on to the clutches of death. A history
of psychological trauma appears to increase the risk of substance abuse. More
than 95% of people who suffered from
psychological trauma use drugs as a part of self-medicating strategy or provide
an avenue towards self-destructive behaviors. Women are more sensitive to drugs
than men, and hence need less exposure to similar effects. The availability of
these drugs plays an integral role in perpetuation of addictive behaviors
within families.
Exposure to Drug Abuse
Exposure
to drug abuse in which the young people are raised is another cause why young
people get addicted to drugs. If the individuals grow up in an area where
adults use drugs, then the person is likely to try the substance themselves. It is said that setting a good example is
extremely important to keep them off drugs and related substances, but the truth is the best of the house with the best
of the examples are the living example of drug use and the example of Sanjay Dutt who now is suffering from Brain
Cancer is the best that one can cite for as an example. . Providing genuine
information about drugs is the best way to prevent drug addiction. Well it might be true as an adage but
practically it is all wrong and false.
Essay on the Effects of Drug Addiction
There
are many negative effects of drug addiction on physical and mental health. As
said, drug addiction refers to compulsive and repeated use of dangerous
substances. The effects of drug addiction are wide and profound. The
psychological effects of drug addiction comes form the reason that the user is
addicted to drugs as well as the changes that take place in brain. Many people
start using drugs to handle stress. However, the psychological effects of drug
addiction involves craving of the substance and using it to the exclusion of
all else.
Emotional Effects
The example of emotional cases are many and varied
and each case can be as same as the one or very different from the other, that
depends. The emotional effects of drug addiction include – mood swings,
depression, violence, anxiety, decrease in everyday activities, hallucinations,
confusion, psychological tolerance to drug effects etc. Besides these, there
are many physical effects of drug addiction that are seen in the systems of the
body. The primary effects of drug addiction take place in brain, which changes
the brain functions and impacts how the body perceives pleasure.
Physical Effects
Effect on the physical fronts are many and are varied. Effects are multiples and it cannot be written in multiples but some of them can or could be. Other
effects of drug addiction include – heart attack, irregular heartbeat, and
contraction of HIV, respiratory problems, lung cancer, abdominal pain, kidney
damage, liver problem, brain damage, stroke, seizures, and changes in appetite.
The impact of drug addiction can be far-reaching and affects every organ of the
body. Excessive usage of drugs can weaken immune system and increase
susceptibility to infection.
Brain & Liver Damage
The
effects of drug addiction are seen in people because the drug floods the brain
repeatedly with chemicals such as – serotonin and dopamine. The brain becomes
highly dependent on these drugs and cannot function without them. The effects
of drug addiction are also seen in babies of drug abusers and can be affected
throughout their life.
Drug
addiction can cause the liver to work harder, causing significant liver failure
or damage. Regarding brain function, drugs can impact daily activities by
causing problems with memory, decision making, mental confusion and even
permanent brain damage.
Short Term Effects
Different
drugs affect body in different ways. There are some short term effects that
occur in drug users depending on the amount of substance used, its purity and
potency. Drugs can affect the person’s thinking, mood and perception to a great
extent. Drugs can temporarily impair motor functioning and interfere with
decision making and even reduce inhibition. The most common substances of drug
addiction include – opiates, alcohol, barbiturates, inhalants etc.
A lot
of people do not realize the damage caused by drug addiction because the short
term effects are not apparent at first. The individual may feel quite
invincible and unaware that drugs can actually affect almost every system in
the body. The long lasting effects of drug addiction may not be known to
addict. If treatment is not sought in time, the physical and emotional health
will deteriorate.
Long Term Effects
The
long term effects of drug addiction can have disastrous consequences on
physical and mental health. As the body adapts to the substance, it needs
increasing amount of it to experience the desired outcome. As the individual
continues to increase the dosage, he/she may develop physical dependence. The
individual may face deadly withdrawal symptoms, once he/she stops using the
substance.
Legal Consequences
Drug
abuse not only causes negative effects on your physical and mental health, but
can have legal consequences. Individuals may have to deal with the legal
consequences for the rest of their life. A lot of companies require the
employees to take drug test before offering job. Driving under the influence of
drugs can lead to serious legal action and even heavy fines.
By
understanding the physical impact of the substance, individuals can make
informed decision regarding their health. Remember that it is never late to
seek help, when it comes to treat drug addiction. There are many rehabilitation
centers that help you combat drug addiction in a supportive environment.
I
cannot suggest any measure at all and anything about how this can be stopped- FOR IT I CANNOT. This has become a FASHION OF THE DAY.
If you
are not possessing a GIRLFRIEND in
now-a-days world you are NOT
considered to be a MAN by any
measure and if you DO NOT DRINK
ALCHOHOL amidst these kind of friends and the party, you are considered to be a soul from a PRIMITIVE age who is not fit for
the modern society.
WINING, WOMENISING AND DESTROYING the madly
earned hard earned money in pleasure and for the same
is the concept of this modern society. Unless and until you gave three friends
and two girl friends in your small world that goes in for a party, you are
never considered to be a man or a woman of any worth living in the society and
that is the concept that has erupted now-a-days.
Keeping
yourself away from the vices is considered to be a WEAKNESS in all the sense and case. What is that a person
like me can write anything about how to prevent yourself from this menace –
nothing .
It is
just that self restraint and a willed-strong-mind can help oneself in keeping
himself or herself away from these kind of ill-will habits
That is
it
Regards
and thanks
