ON READING - ::
Reading is an enjoyable activity , especially children have
to experience the pleasures of reading . The book reading habit amongst today
youth is gradually diminishing . This should not happen . They should develop a
reading habit. In the class rooms, a teachers like a clinician has to diagnose
the non- readers and initiate them into reading. Infact , a teacher should also
encourage and must encourage children
and lead them to a gradual habit of
reading and create a habit to read many
a kind of different book which should interest them and inculcate in them to a
reading habit.
LIBRARIES AND
READING ROOM ::
The libraries and the reading rooms in the school and the
colleges should be able to attract the Women the Men, the students and the
children's during the leisure hours to sit and read the books of their choice.
Once a person develops BOOKMINDEDNESS, that means DEVELOPS a LOVE for reading
he becomes and remains a reader for his entire life.
Addison the famous Scientist once had remarked that READING IS TO A MAN AND TO THE MIND WHAT
EXERCISE ID TO THE BODY.
Reading maketh a FULL man. Reading is a good habit also. This helps a
person to pass his time usefully and at a time to enjoy it as well .Reading
enriches the knowledge of everybody and an individuals as well.
What to read is one’s
choice but reading something irrelevant and wasteful matter if of NO-USE. The
present generation prefers being COUCH-POTATOES , glued to the TV set, the
IDIOT BOX or the internet. In western countries pedestrians go around with a book in hand..
In India the reading habit is quite
restricted . The drawing rooms are adorned by TV and the tape recorders.
A book can be read anywhere and at anytime during journey ,
relaxing on your bed , out in the open or at cafeteria . The harmful radiations
that emanates form TV and the Computer screen. Are also non-existent while
reading a book.
Books are the TREASURE-TROVE of the ancient wisdom that comes
handy while we shape our furure.Many people became GREAT only after reading
books. Mahatma Gandhi changed his mind after Ruskin’s “ UNTO THAT LAST ” book.
Doctor Bheem Rao Ambedkar had a habit of reading books after
books and he himself was an author. ONCE
HE RECEIVED A PARCEL FROM A FRIEND ABROAD WHICH CONTAINED ABOUT 2000 BOOKS ON DIFFERENT
MATTERS AND SUBJECTS. He grew up by
reading .
A book can give anybody a COURAGE and the strength to fight ,
will and protect and PROMOTE well being socially , economically , politically
and spiritually. Is is an effective mean
to create an water and wave , of
creativity and develop an intimacy , ie an intimate relationship and it also
helps us to build an intimate relationship with whom , the WRITER and the
READERS of that book.
BOOKS ARE TRUE
COMPANIONS-::
People read
the books according to their taste.
There is nothing wrong in reading a useful book and there is
never a WRONG in reading a GOOD book. As Bacon
had remarked ::
“ SOME BOOKS ARE TO BE TASTED
, OTHERS TO BE SWALLOWED AND THERE MIGHT BE SOME THAT NEEDS TO BE CHEWED AND
DIGESTED ” .
BOOK CLUBS -
::
The BOOK-CLUBS are an effective means for promoting the books
and for creating a habit of book reading. The books also helps us to knit our dream ,
and the THOUGHTS . They provide us the RIGHT and the CORRECT perspectives in
which we need to understand the things .
