It Could Have Been The “ IoP ” and " FULL " Possessional Right Of
Kashmir Which Our “ LEADERSHIP ” missed
Well , the start of the first day of our
GOLDEN JUBILEE celebration over Pakistan for India's victory of the 1971 war, has begun and from this day onward it
would take full 365 and a quarter number of days to complete the celebration.
It was today , some 49 years ago
completed , that at about 3.00PM when
the Indian military Force was allowed to take a SHORT BREAK of TEN MINUTES at
Dhaka , to RELAX themselves before relaunching themselves for the FINAL ASSAUT
on the Pakistani soldier at Dhaka . The Indian Soldiers fighting the war
stared sipping the cup of HOT TEA which the Mukti-Vahini had prepared for them
and then there was that “ JOKE ” between the Mukti Vahini and the Indian
Soldiers '‘ Ki Dada, Bhalo Toh, Araay Bhai, aamee Bhalo, Tumee Bhalo, Aur
Baakiyo Koh Guttar Mai Dalo ” Toh Hobay Naa Toh. Listening to this, the
Central Chief Commander of Mukti Vahini, Ahmed
–Ur-Rehman started giggling loudly and said to an Indian Soldier “
Toh Aapnne O Bangla Sikhey Nilen” which means SO YOU ALSO HAVE LEARNED BAANGLA LANGUAGE
. He finished it saying the Indian Soldiers learns the things very fast. That
was that.
It was on December 15th 1972
when a HIGH LEVEL meeting was going to be arranged between the Pakistani Top Head at
Dhaka .The Mukti Vahini appraised this information to the Chief of the platoon
of the Indian Army at a distance of about 15 Kilometers from the Governor House
where the top Pakistani Army Officials would at times meet for discussion. The
problem was that it was very hard to make an access over that place and over it
the Mukti Vahini did not at all have any idea of the actual location of the
same.
Getting this information , the Indian
Commander of that platoon send his info to the Indian Chief , Mr Jagjagit Singh
arora who was stationed at Commilla for some inspection that he needed to do
before launching a full fledged attack at Dhaka to finally wipe away everything
that the Pakistani had. It was Gulam
Haider Babloo , a Chief of th unit of Mukti Vahini in their arsenal
division who advised the Chief of the Indian Platoon with whom his unit was
attached to carry on the launch, to ATLEAST speak, ONCE to the Pakistani counterpart
before launching the full scale wipe
out attack of the Pakistani Soldier.
However Mr Arora had some other idea. No
sooner that he heard about the meeting of the top Pakistani Army Officials at
the Governor House he send an intimation to the Indian Air Force to completely
bombard the Governor House within an hour before he makes his FINAL move to
talk to the Chief of the Pakistani Army, Mr Niazi and then set on to take a
final decision.
The actual location of the Governor House
was not known to anybody. It was here that Sheikh Mujib-Ur-Rehman was kept for
many a days as a prisoner secretly and from the eye away of the public before
he was taken to Lahore and kept as a prisoner there. The Indian Air Force as per the details and the location made a map
which was imaginary and could guess actually where was Dhaka Governor House
then.
It was just about the Pakistani Military
Officials who were to assemble at the Governer House that they received the
information that the INDIAN AIR FORCE HAD STRUCKED IN SUCH A
TELLING FASHION THAT EVERYTHING OF THAT HOUSE HAS GONE INTO THE SHANBLES WITH
THE ROOF UNTRACABLE.
This completely BLEW the parts and the MINI-PARTS
of the brain that the Pakistani could ever possess during that period of time .
That meeting was never to happen and at about 6.00PM in the evening just before
the Indian troop was going to launch a final assault , Mr Jagjit Singh Arora
send a COMMANDING SIGNAL to General Niazi and requeted him to speak to him over
the wireless line if possible.
The Pakistani General obeyed the
request. It was a PLAIN talk by the Chief Of The eastern Command of Indian Army,
Mr Arora who places TWO
offers before the Pakistani Chief. The FIRST
was , MY UNIT OF 10,00 SOLDIERS ARE ENOUGH TO WIPE OFF YOUR 93,000
PAKISTANI SOLDIER WITHIN SIX HOURS. In other words YOUR LIFE IS NOW
LIMITED TO “ SIX ” HOURS .
The SECOND
was - GENERAL, I OFFER YOU A LIFE TIME OF HAPPINESS TILL NATURAL DEATH
TAKES YOU AWAY . Tell me WHAT DO YOU FAVOUR .
Hearing to this the Pakistani General was
at the LOSS for the WORDS. He started taking the stock of the situation but he
got the THIRD answer in FORTRIGHT manner by Mr Arora by then and that was – WE HAVE BLOCKED EVERY FOOD GRAIN AND EVERY
AMMUNITION OR THE HELP THAT COULD REACH YOU GENERAL. Your own stock is
absolutely over and this is the information that you also know it well. I need
your reply within ONE HOUR before I take
my next step.
Hearing to that the General ASSURED the
Indian counterpart that THERE WOULD
BE NO ATTACK OR ANY KIND OF AN ASSAULT BY THE PAKISTANI ARMY FOR THE NIGHT AND
THAT HE REQUIRED THE TIME TILL MORNING TO GIVE A REPLY AS HE HAD TO GET IN
TOUCH WITH THE PAKISTANI NATIONAL ADMINISTRATION TO HEAR TO THEM BEFORE HE
TAKES THE DECISION.
The Pakistani Administration led by
General Yahya Khan and Mr Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto were SPEECHLESS and SPINELESS to
say anything. They could not take anything in terms of a SENSE that they
possessed to say “ NO ” or “ YES ” to General Niazi.
The Pakistani Administration JUST DID NOT PASS ANY REACTION IN TERMS
OF ANY DECISION TAKEN . It was then the Chief Of the Pakistani army
after calculating all his losses decided to take the action and the decision.
His calculation made him to realize that
by the end of the ninth day of the war at Bangladesh now, then East Pakistan,
the Pakistani had lost about 9500 plus soldiers beside some of the hired ones
from Afghanistan and Iran who were fighting the war for them. The Iranis and
the Afghanis were the hirted Soldiers that was fighting the war for Pakistan
like the Mukti Vahini was fighting it along with the Indian Army. The Pakistani
unit of Air Force at Dhaka was left with “ NO ” planes at all to carry any air
launch. The Pakistani tanks had only two
platoons of it and there wasn’t any fuel or the shell left for it to bombard. The
93,000 soldiers that it had had only a few lakhs of the bullets which would be
exhausted to ZERO if the attack was prolonged for more than two hours and the
casualty would be such that about 45,000 of it’s Army personnel would die even
if India had to loose all those 10,000 personnel's .The back up of the Indian
Army along with their ammunition then would take another full day to completely
finish off the remains of the Pakistani Army personnel's that would remain .
It was then at and on December 17th
1971 at about eight in the morning that the Pakistani General Mr Niazi called
upon Mr Arora on the phone and said him- “
GENERAL, IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED SIPPING YOUR MORNING TEA, THEN I WOULD LIKE
TO JOIN YOU ” .
Pic :: Gen Niazi WELCOMED by Mr Jagjit Singh Arora with full " PROTOCOL " for morning " TEA "
The invitation was accorded with all the
protocol taken well in care and the Pakistani General after meeting Mr Arora
for the morning tea said while sipping the HOT “ INDIAN ” prepared tea prepared
by an Indian Army Soldier, said that “ GENERAL,
I SURRENDER. GO AHEAD WITH ALL THE FORMALITIES OF SURRENDER , BUT DO NOT KILL
MY ARMY WHEN THEY LAY DOWN THEIR ARMS, OR EVEN AFTERWARD THEN ”.

The Pakistani Army Chief was accorded all
the protocol to go back to his unit and his camp and was told that SEND THE
PAPERS AS YOUR NOTICE TO US SO THAT THE DRAFT IS PREPARED FOR YOUR SURRENDER ” . Before leaving the place, the Pakistani General, Mr Niazi complimented his Indian counterpart saying that :: GENERAL-THE TEA WAS " FANTASTIC " IN TASTE
Pic :: The Pakistani " INSTRUMENT " and " ACCORD " Of " SURRENDER "
The Pakistani General without wasting even a fraction of time, just took a piece
of paper from his pocket and wrote- “ WE SURRENDER ” and he whisked away. On
getting that piece of paper the draft for the surrender was prepared by the
Indian counterpart and in a public place at Rammana Race Course at Dhaka , near the infamous “ DHANMONDI ” , it was
at about one past the noon that the entire formality was completed with
Pakistan surrendering to the Indian Army.
Pic :: The " CHIEF " Officer, the " LIASIONMAN " of the " MUKTI-VAHINI " declaring East Pakistan is now " BANGLADESH " and an " INDEPENDENT " country
The entire Pakistani Army from TOP to the
BOTTOM was made to stand at ease. They were told to come WITHOUT any BULLETS in
their arms ie the revolvers and the guns which they did possess then . After Gen Niazi signed
on the final draft of surrender that was prepared by the Indian General himself, the
Pakistani Army in a QUEUE moved to the Indian General and BOWED before him, as
per the rules and the PROTOCOL and took their arms and put in on the ground
before they moved FOUR STEPS BACK
which meant that they have AGREED to retreat and withdraw from the war.
THUS ENDED THE INDIA-PAKISTAN WAR OF 1971 WITH INDIA BREAKING
PAKISTAN AND CLUTCHING IT’S 93,000 SOLDIERS.
It was ONE of the MOST
IMPRESSIVE war won by ANY
NATION in the WORLD
with as many as 93,000 ie ONE-THIRD
of the Pakistani or any opposition surrendering to any Army of the world that had
fought any war till then or even now.
TURMOIL AT PAKISTAN
This war set many a turmoil at Pakistan .
Their President General Yahya Khan was send to the gallows.Therefater Mr
Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto took over. Here the Pakistani Prisoner Of War were getting
excited and rusted with the idea about HOW
MANY DAYS WOULD IT TAKE FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP TO SET THEM FREE .
The Shimla Accord
Ultimately the leaders of TWO country
then, Mrs Indira Gandhi and Mr Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto decided to meet at Shimla.
The Shimla accord was signed and all the 93,000 POW of the Pakistani Army was
allowed to go.
MISTAKE HERE BY INDIA AND Mrs INDIRA GANDHI
It was here that the leadr of the opposition had requested
Mrs India Gandhi just before a few days earlier when she was to sit with Mr
Bhutto for the agreement which later has
come to being known as the Shimla agreement, that GET THE SIGNATURE OF Mr BHUTTO ACCEPTING THAT
KASHMIR IS THE FULL OWNED PROPERTY OF INDIA AND IS A STATE OF INDIA AND THAT
PAKISTAN WILL NEVER RAKE IN ANY ISSUE OF KASHMIR IN THE NEAR FUTURE WITH THE
PAKISTAN OCCUPIED KASHIR TOO AS THE PART OF INDIA
She was requested by all the opposition
parties that UNLESS AND UNTIL PAKISTAN AND Mr BHUTTO SIGN ON THAT ENDORSEMENT AND
THE DRAFT NIETHER THE PAKISTANI PRISONER OF WAR OR ANY PART OF THE PAKISTANI
LAND THAT INDIA HAD CAPTURED DURING THAT WAR WOULD BE GIVEN TO PAKISTAN AND
HANDED OVER.
This Mrs Indira Gandhi DID NOT DO. The
opposition before that had reminded that IF PAKISTAN DID NOT SIGN ANY ACCORD ON
KASHMIR AT SHIMLA THEN LIKE THE PoK THAT PAKISTAN POSSESSES, LET INDIA ALSO
OCCUPY THE “ IoP ” ie “ INDIA OCCUPIED KASHMIR ” .
Well that DID NOT HAPPEN.
It was the MUSLIM, the MUSLIM VOTE and
the fear of the MUSLIM SLASH that Mrs Indira Gandhi and the Congress would meet
and the fear of losing the MUSLIM VOTE BANK at India that she did not do that.
For if she would have done it, Mr Bhutto
would have signed the accord or else these 93,000
Pakistani POW would NOT have gone back to Pakistan .
It was a LAST CHANCE LOST by India to completely ANNEX the
whole of Kashmir.
OUR SOLDIERS KEEP ON LOSING THEIR LIFE, OUR NATIONAL LEADERS
KEEP ON ENJOYING AT THEIR EXPENSE.
That makes the HEART “ CRY ” , as the political leaders ENJOY the “ CHICKEN –
FRY ”
Regards and Thanks
