Celebrating the linguistic
expression of our common humanity
“"Arranged in words,
coloured with images, struck with the right meter, poetry has a power that has
no match. This is the power to shake us from everyday life and the power to
remind us of the beauty that surrounds us and of the resilience of the human
spirit" .
Originated in the era of 323
B.C., and carrying right from that stage to this stage of modern human
era, poetry has livened the spirit, of the nature that exists in any form, and
has covered every element of life, humanism and human spirit in every
sphere .
Held every year on 21 March, World Poetry Day celebrates one
of humanity’s most treasured forms of cultural and linguistic expression and
identity. Poetry is a practice and
poetry is a creation, and poetry enriches the dry soul to liven itself into a
beautiful greem meadow. Practiced throughout history – in every culture and on
every continent – poetry speaks to our common humanity and our
shared values, transforming the simplest of poems into a powerful
catalyst for dialogue and peace.
Humanity :: Reaffirmed Through The Poetry-:
Human being, or a living creature that is here
in this world have been in one way or the another, being described by the
poetry and the rivers as well as the Oceans too have found a place in the pages
of poetry. Poetry reaffirms our common humanity by revealing to us that
individuals, everywhere in the world, share the same questions and feelings.
Poetry is the centre of the gravity and is the fulcrum about the message that
it conveys and the balance it does or performs to maintain a state of
equilibrium when the orders of the day are in disarray. Poetry is the mainstay of oral tradition and,
over centuries, can communicate the innermost values of diverse cultures .
The Day : March 21st every
year-:
This day is celebrated on march 21st
every year . It has been adjudicated as
March 21st every year, to celebrate on this day. In celebrating World
Poetry Day, March 21, UNESCO recognizes the unique ability of
poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind.
.It
was the UNESCO which took this decision to have a WORLD
POETRY DAY . A decision to
proclaim 21 March as World Poetry Day was adopted during
UNESCO’s 30th session held in Paris in 1999.
One
of the main objectives of the Day is to support linguistic diversity through
poetic expression and to offer endangered languages the opportunity to be heard
within their communities .
Poetry
:: A History of “ TRAVAIL ” and “ EMBELLISHMENT ”.
Poetry
has taken a place in the means of communication, in the field of creativity
that includes dance, theatre, and in the films through the songs . It has
covered a lot of ground even before the day March 21st when the
World Poetry Day was announced to be held and observed every year. It has a
history of travail and embellishment. Poetry makes a assertive statement when
it is implied on the subject .
The
observance of World Poetry Day is also meant to encourage a return to the oral
tradition of poetry recitals, to promote the teaching of poetry, to restore a
dialogue between poetry and the other arts such as theatre, dance, music and
painting, and to support small publishers and create an attractive image of
poetry in the media, so that the art of poetry will no longer be considered an
outdated form of art, but one which enables society as a whole to regain and
assert its identity.
Background
:: The History Put Into The basket Of “ FALLACIES ”
Poetry has it’s own history and it’s long
detailed evidence to prove that it also puts the history far bhind it, to cover
it historically. Poetry and it’s imagination belies the theory of all the
history and puts that into the basket of fallacies.

World Poetry Day is an occasion to honour poets, revive
oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching
of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as
theatre, dance, music and painting, and raise the visibility of poetry in the
media. As poetry continues to bring people together across continents,
all are invited to join in.
