HISTORIC SPORTING MOMENTS OF INDIA POST INDEPENDENCE-:

" Raag  Hoh Koi Milan  Ka , Sukh Se Bhari Sargam Kaa,

Yug Yug Kay Bandhan Kaa, Saath Hoh Lakhon Janam Kaa,

Aisee Baharein Aatee Rahein, Aur Sajti Rahein Yeh Bahaarein

Jise Sunkar Duniya Jhoom Uthhay, Aur Jhoom Utthey Dil Deewanay...."

That DOOOR KA RAHEE sang  it way back in the SIXTIES singing that and this DOOOR KA RAAHI did it on August 7th 2021..... BOTH , by that " SONG ", and by this " GOLD " which did   " BIND " India to  the  act of GOLDEN days for India ahead , the WORLD swings listening to Kishore Kumar and swing very MADLY when they hear that Javelin Gold has been won by India..... for that has been the " RAAG"  , both, for that song and for the GOLD won by Neeraj.

It was ALL " JHOOOM UTTHEY DIL DEEWAANA " on August 7th 2021 all over India when Neeraj Chopra won that GOLD at the Javelin event for India.....

Pic - :: Neeraj Chopra, the FIRST ever FIELD events Gold Medallion For India In The Olympics

With the Olympics over on August 7th 2021 and within the first four days the fervours are over, with India doing her best in the Olympics winning about SEVEN medal in toto, it is from my point of view that a small note , I think should be made, prepared and put so as to take the notes of India’s glorious achievements after she got it after attaining her Independence.

Seventy Five years have passed by and India after participating in her first Olympics through a solo athlete in 1896 with Madam Mary holding the Union Jack Flag as the sole representor of India, to 2021 has won THIRTY SEVEN medals of which TWO were seized away.

It happened in 1900 when NORMAN PRITCHARD won the TWO-SILVER in the Paris Olympics in 1900, but that was seized away by the British authorities saying that Norman was a Britisher and not an Indian and that the I.O.A ( which was not formed at all then ) did not bear his expenses at all, so those two medals would be the property of the British.

The Modi Government Ought To Get The Medal Back - It's A " NATIONAL" Prestige For India.....

It is here that the present Government under Mr Narendra Modi has to write to the British Authorities to request them to give those two medals back to India as the Olympics Committee then at Paris had registered Norman Pritchard as an Indian Athlete and he ran under the jersey of Indian Athlete. If they find it HARD to return the medal, then India under Mr Narendra Modi ought to  REQUEST the International Olympics Association to replicate the two Silver medals and put them in the Olympics and the Sports museum of India.

In 1972 Mr Vece Paes who had won that Hockey Bronze while representing India had lost the medal after his house was washed away by flood. His son Leander got the replicate from the International Olympics Committee, and this time around Mr Modi and the Sports Minister ought to get it back replicated from the I.O.A. This is the need of the hour

While speaking of the medals that India got it from the Olympics, there are actually 35 Olympics medals that India had won at the Olympics. The other two of Norman Pritchard are not added to that else it makes 37.

It is a total of 37 Olympic medals in 75 years which is roughly ½ a medal every year for the seventy years. THIS DOES NOT MAKES INDIA ANY IMPRESSIVE AT ALL in the Olympics.

The “ DECATH ” Of The Gold Completed At Olympics-::

India had won NINE GOLDS before the 2021 Olympics of which EIGHT had come through Hockey and now with Neeraj Chopra winning the TENTH it has completed the DECATH of the GOLDS at the Olympics.

That GOLD won by Neeraj is the FIRST ever in the FIELD events of the Olympics after 1900, when Norman Pritchard had won those two Silvers in the year 1900 so that it males this Medal a GOLD to have come to India after 121 years.

FOOTNOTE-: I'm NOT taking into account the World Cup cricket and the Woman's World Cup because they are NOT the OLYMPIC events and both the World Cup 1983 and the Woman's World Cup finals of the 2017 are HISTORY that ought to be scripted in the letter of GOLD

Basically cricket has NEVER been an Olympics event of sports. The ONLY OCCASION that cricket was played at the Olympics was in 1896 when the ONLY-TWO-CRICKET playing nations, Australia and England had played a OLYMPIC CRICKET FINALS match in 1896 with Australia beating England  BUT NO MEDAL WAS AWARDED TO ANY TEAMS THEN

The rule of the Olympics is that there should be atleast FOUR teams competiting in an event and only then the GOLD-SILVER-BRONZE could be awarded as there would be three out of the FOUR to win them. As there were only two the AUTOMATIC medals win concepts reins in and OLYMPICS does not awards the AUTOMATIC medal wins to any athletes in the world.

The second instance of cricket was the 1998 CWG games where South Africa won the cricket title beating Sri-Lanka in the finals with Shaun Pollock leading the South African team, but the organiser felt that holding a cricket event was too much of a loss and wastage of time and that it also never could produce that kind of a revenue through the televisions and at last they decided to scrap the cricket events at the CWG , once for all.....

It is only in India that cricket is being given such a kind of useless recognition and accreditations which is never and never deserves and NOT at all....

I have also included cricket inspite of the fact that it is NOT an Olympic sporting event but  because of the fact that cricketers are also conferred with the Arjuna award and the other CIVILIAN awards in India ......

That sums up it and that is all .....

Regards and THANKS
