September 14th
:: International and World Hindi
Celebration Day ::
That was somewhere
in the year 1920 if my memory
serves me fast ands last.
It was a meeting at “ SHYAMLEE ” which in Bengali is spoken as SHAMOLI at Bolpur a place where Rabindranath Tagore had raised the Vishwa Bharati University at Shantiniketan .It was here that the two GREATS of India met for the first time.
Pic - :: The " SHYAMLEE " Hut At Shantiniketan
Shyamlee was a small hut that was amongst many other within that compound which was constructed by Mr Rabindranath Tagore .These huts were constructed by Mr Tagore so as to spend the afternoon during the hot sultry summer .These huts were constructed by a special kind of mud and were covered with a kind of the leaves that kept the heat at bay and the huts provided the cooling effect As Mr Gandhi was meeting Mr Tagore during the peak of the summer, Mr Tagore chose Shyamlee as the meeting place and as the venue for the same.
I had the opportunity at and while my service at Kolkatta
with a Government based organization when I got an opportunity to visit Bolpur
and when I found out the time, I missed no chance to visit Shantiniketan which
was about a hour drive from Bolpur.
I was so very luck to have witnessed the Shyamlee, the hut
where the meeting between the two entities took place beside the NOBEL PRIZE
which was kept in a long shelf at the place Shantiniketan along with many other
articles which Mr Tagore used while he was alive.
Actually Shyamlee was the hut and the place where there was
a very long conversation between Mahatma Gandhi and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore
and one of the tal revolved was of the one which involved about the
language. The topic was WHAT SHOULD BE THE OFFICIAL NATIONAL LANGUAGE of India.
This talk went on and on and many a points were discussed
between the TWO SPIRITUAL LEADERS, ofcousre Mr Tagore was not into politics but
it was as good as that he was a leader. What was more taken into consideration
by these two greats was that Hindi was a language which the entire length and
the breadth of the country spoke by any
means by being incorrect or correct- but the language was understood by one and
sundry. Thus after a lengthy discussion it was agreed upon that Hindi may be
declared as the National Language of India.
Hindi Language Just makes You Feel That You Should Be Devoting Yourself To The Need Of The Motherland, was the opinion of both the GREATS and they accepted on that point to declare Hindi as the official language for the Indian's .

Whether Hindi after Independence was declared as the National
language of India is not known to me but the Britishers had accepted it as the
language OFFICIAL at India .
Hindi as an
important Language
Hindi is one of the widely spoken languages of India and to
honour it, there's a day dedicated to it called Hindi Diwas. The special day is
observed on September 14 to commemorate the adoption of Hindi in
Devnagari script as one of the official languages in different Hindi-speaking
states of India.
Due to the efforts of Beohar Rajendra Sinha and others, Hindi was adopted as one of the two official languages of the Republic of India by the Constituent Assembly of India in 1949. Incidently Mr Sinha hails from Jabalpur and was a very well known figure at Jabalpur and was very close to Mahatma Gandhi during the Freedom struggle day and he took the charge after Independence to see to it that Hindi is accepted as ONE of the two Official language in India and he had won his case for the same.
What is Vishwa Hindi Diwas?
Vishwa
Hindi Diwas or World
Hindi Day is celebrated annually on January 10th, to mark the anniversary of
the first World Hindi Conference,
held in 1975. The first World Hindi Conference was inaugurated
by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at the famous Dhanwate rang Shala at
Nagpur. . Since 1975 different countries like Mauritius, United Kingdom,
Trinidad and Tobago, United States have organised World Hindi Conference.
On January 10th, 2006 for the first time World Hindi Day was
observed by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. And ever since the special
day is celebrated on the same date to promote it as a global language.
How is National Hindi Diwas is different from
World Hindi Day?
Hindi
is one of the widely spoken languages of the world after English and Mandarin.
As a linguistic variety, after English, Mandarin and Spanish, Hindi
is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Hindi is
also a direct descendant of an early form of Vedic Sanskrit.
Hindi Diwas is observed annually on September 14th marking the declaration of
language Hindi as official language. Meanwhile, World Hindi conference or
Vishva Hindi Sammelan is celebrated on January 10th is a word conference on
Hindi language.
Hindi Diwas is observed every year. World Hindi Conference is
observed once in every three years.
Hindi Diwas history and significance
With the efforts of Beohar Rajendra Sinha along with Hazari Prasad
Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupt and Seth Govind Das, Hindi was
adopted as one of the two official languages of Republic of India by
Constituent Assembly of India.
14th September 1949 was the 50th birthday of Beohar Rajendra Sinha
as his efforts resulted in the adoption of Hindi as an official language.
Therefore, this day was declared as Hindi Diwas. The decision was later
rectified by the constitution of India on January 26, 1950. Hindi written in
Devnagari script was adopted as one of the official languages was declared
under Article 343 of the Indian Constitution.
Importance
Of Hindi In India-:
“ HINDI KE LIYE KRIPYA KAR NUMBER “ DOH” DABAYEH ”
For Hindi PRESS BUTTON NUMBER TWO - that is the importance of Hindi
at India . It still lies second after English in India. I have in a very very short measure, have described all about the importance of Hindi . That actually describes about Hindi for which Mahatma Gandhi and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore discussed for many many and many a hours before they had decided to accept Hindi as the Official language of India .
Well before I end my note I feel so delighted and enlightened that I saw TWO of the most illustrious DIAMOND in my life, the FIRST was the " NOBEL PRIZE" that Mr tagore had won, being the FIRST-EVER-ASIAN to do so, and the second was the hut SHYAMLEE , the place where the two SPIRITUAL SOUL decided that HINDI SHOULD BE THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE AND THE FIRST LANGUAGE OF INDIA.
Well , that is it and That sums it all.
Regards and Thanks
