How
and Why Is This day Celebrated - :: Watershed Point In The Annals Of Indian
History
On April 1,
1895, the Brit Indian Army was founded within the British administration and
was known as the British Indian Army. After India became independent in 1947,
it was not until January 15, 1949, that the nation received its first-ever Indian
chief.
Lt Gen KM
Cariappa succeeded General Francis Butcher, the final British
commander-in-chief of the Indian Army, as commander-in-chief of the Indian
Armed forces in 1949. The handover of authority from the Brits to India is seen
as a watershed
point in Indian history and is observed as Army Day. This day is
also marked to pay tributes to the troops who have given their lives for the
nation
Army Day- :: Celebrated In A Special Way -
::
Because they are determined to become a
war-leading team, the Indian Army plays a key role during crises. This day was
recognised as Indian Army Day to start paying respect to the martyred Indian
army personnel at the “Amar Jawan Jyoti" at News Delhi’s India Gate.
Following the tribute, a magnificent parade with
military demonstrations highlights the Indian Army’s modern technology and
achievements. Bravery honours, such as Division credentials and Sena Medals,
are presented on this historic day. During the Army Day ceremony in Jammu and
Kashmir, serving Army members receive bravery and highly respected Seva medals
The Blessing Of The
Nation And The Prime Minister’s Wishes To Indian Army-::

veterans and their families on the occasion of Army Day. “Greetings to all
soldiers, veterans & their families on Army Day. We salute the courage
& invaluable service of the Indian Army,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Minister said it has always protected the sovereignty of India.
Indian Army Leads From The Front-::
“Indian Army always leads
from the front, be it in protecting the sovereignty of our nation or helping
citizens during natural disasters,” he said.
Remember the sacrifices made by the army, Prime Minister Modi
said they put their lives at risk so that the citizens can live peacefully. “We
remember with great pride all the sacrifices made by our Army. They put their
lives at risk so that 125 crore Indians live peacefully,” his tweet read.
Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year, in recognition
of Lieutenant General K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first
Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the
last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.
This at last DRIED and swept away all the furious actions and
the reactions that had taken place with the Army as the Centre Of Attraction
for all the news for the last two days.....
