How I Brought The “
B M W ” Here At India
It was the year 1996 and the month was May 1996 . It was at
that time that I had completed my full one year of service in an organization by
the name of ARON UNIVERSAL PRIVATE LIMITED at Bangalore which was into the manufacturing of indigenous chemicals
like dyes, paints, etc which are used in paper industries and the plastic
industries. I was NOT finding the situation and the job to my lking even though
I was paid Rs 8.000=00 as my monthly salary with all benefits and allowance and
this was a huge salary at Bangalore during that
period.
I decided to quit my job and without even finding a right
one I decided to get out of the way of this organization during the month of
May 1996 and by September I was into SAGAR AUTOMOBILES the LARGEST DEALERSHIP
BY SINGLE DEALERSHIP METHOD, a dealer for the
Maruti-Suzuki car at Bangalore with a salary of Rs 5,000=00 per month
beside the incentives upon completion of the team target.
Element Of
Surprise-::
What surprised many that I WAS LEAVING A JOB FOR A JOB
WITH A LOSS OF Rs 3000=00 PER MONTH AS A SALARY AND THAT WAS THE SHOCKING POINT
OF THE SAME.
Well, I joined this unit on September 2nd 1996
and the date September 2nd holds many an importance for me in my
life.It was September 2nd 1981 when I had joined the Hitavada, it
was September 2nd 1982 when I first attended the M.B.A class while
going for the studies, it was September
2nd 1987 when I joined the KHAITAN INDIA LIMITED at
Indore, …… there were these occasion thaose still holds importance for me.
People would LAUGH at me when they learned that I gave up a job worth Rs 8,000=00 per month to accept an
offer for Rs 5,000=00 per month but THAT IT HOW I ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.
Not Knowing Any
Elements I Was Offered the Job-::

Shocked- Shell
Shocked To Hear That B.M.W Was Folding It’s Business At India-::
It was during the
start of the season of 1997 that I read in the news that B.M.W which had joined
it’s hand with the infamous HERO-HONDA group, to sytart it’s operation here at
India had decided to do away with their business at India,
The main competitor of the B.M.W here at the world the “ MERCEDES ” by that time had started their operation with
the association of the TATAS here at India and in all probability had opened it’s
production unit at Aurangabad . They were full at a LOSS for their operation
and they were in the ZONE-OF-RED while operating
for themselves here at India. Looking into their state of affairs, the B.M.W. decided
to quit their operation at India.
Associating with the HERO-HONDA they had acquired a HUGE
piece of land from the HERO-HONDA for a lease. This land now is leased to
HONDA-ACTIVA by the HERO GROUP .This was the FIRST uprooting element that I had
noticed and I could assess about why the Mercedes was failing here at India. . THIS
MADE ME TO MOVE AHEAD WITH MY PLAN AND THE PROJECT FOR B.M.W FOR INDIA.
This was the MOOT POINT that initiated my action and the
idea to bring back B.M.W here at India and after having spent about a year at
the dealership of Maruti , where I was totally exposed to the marketing of all
the cars from the Maruti Suzuki 800 cc of the car to the high end of the ESTEEM
car added to it the Zen, I completely had studied the PSYCHO-CUSTOMER – BEHAVIOUR
and the pattern of the sales of the car.
What was more interesting was the fact that it made me very
accurate to gauge and read the bent of the mind of the customers when I
interacted with them. During that point of the time, the DAEWOO was operating
here at India with CEILO being marketed by them. Their FAILURE and later their winding
up their business associated with the Mercedes in the RED ZONE was studies by me very carefully and that made me very
clear about how to go about the dissertation
of presenting it to the B.M.W to come back and start their operation here at
India.
I had by September 1997 had quit my job from Sagar Automobiles
, and I had joined a Management Institution to teach Business Management to the
students at Bangalore. It was then I completed my entire dissertation which was
about for 89 pages – ONE SIDE TYPED pages in A-4 sheet with many a charts and
bars which actually made the study very interesting for the management of the
B.M.W to rethink about coming back to India.
What made them to instil confidence and imbibe the trust as
well as the assurance to come back to India were the facts that-:
A). I advised them to bring the cars in the CKD ( Completely
Knock Down ) stage, here at India.
B ) . I advised them to open up a small plant of assembly at
Pondicherry which attracted the bare minimum rates of every taxes and that
Union Territory as an entrepreneurial territory enjoys some great benefits as
conferred by the Government which makes the landing cost of the cars at the
dealership esay.
C ) . I advised them NOT to open any office of B.M.W by
hiring big rentals space anywhere at India, instead having a small space to run
their office within the dealership of B.M.W as that would cut it’s
administrative and overheads by a huge margin and would aid to their swelling
of the profit.
These were the THREE BREAK-EVEN - POINTS that I advised them
to take into consideration and to counter the effect of Maruti I advised them
to bring the MINI cars in India which B.M.W had acquired from the car
manufacturer of Britain which they tried it to do but gave it away in the later
stage. .
My letter were send to Mr Luder Paysen who then was the
C.E.O of B.M.W at Munich, Germany and after a few days I got a reply from them
that they were also reconsidering their decision to relaunch themselves here at
India with a different mindset, but totally as per the CONSULTANCY that I gave
it to them.
The entire dissertation was written FIRST on a register
which was a ONE-LINE-REGISTER of the A-4 page variety and later the DTP ) Desk
Top Printing ) were done by one of my very close friend at Bangalore.
After B.M.W received it and after they send their first
reply to me- they started sending many, many and many journals of B.M.W to me
saying that I OUGHT TO MAKE THE SYUDY OF VARIOUS MODELS OF THE
CARS THAT THEY MANUFACTURE AND WHAT DIFFERENT MODELS WOULD SUITS THE INDIAN
MARKET.
Every journals of B.M.W that I got it from them are still
with me and I have preserved it like one
preserves the DIAMOND and puts it in the appropriate place to safeguard it
providing t with security.
EYE FILLED WITH TEARS OF JOY………
I did bring the B.M.W here at India especially for the Hon’ble
President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister to take those cars and to bring the HIGHEST
FOREIGN DIGNITARIES when they come here for any matters that
relates to the country which involves any elements of POLITICS.
Yes an commercial organization always thinks about it’s
profits and the losses as that is the business, and these cars will be all
around with thosw who have the DIMES to fulfil their ambition of possessing
these JEWELS from the HOUSE OF B.M.W but my intention was the see to it that
the TOPMOST HONCHOS of the POLITICAL OUTFITS
OF INDIA ride on these to render the facilities to the Foreign
dignitaries and when they do it I FEEL PROUD SEEING IT. At least they would NOT
feel that INDIA IS A COUNTRY OF “ RAGS ” Here the people can afford a B.M.W .
When I first saw the Hon'ble President Of India being driven on this car to address the nation from the rampant of the Red Fort on January 26th , TEARS ROLLED DOWN MY EYE AS I FELT THAT " I AS A HUMAN BEING AND AS AN INDIAN, I COULD DO AND SERVE THE NATION IN AN MEANINGFUL MANNER ".
Pic- :: The Handwritten Dissertation About Demographical Analysis Of India And The Location Of The Customer For B M W
PROUD THAT I LOST Rs 3,000=00 PER MONTH TO RENDER " B.M.W " TO THE TOP
MOST POLITICAL ENTITIES OF INDIA-::
I feel very proud of myself to have lost Rs 3,000=00 per
month as salary then to bring the B.M.W to India and THOSE
WHO CONSIDER ME A FOOL CAN ONLY FEEL NOW, HOW FOOL WERE THEY TO LAUGH AT ME . I
ALWAYS PROVE THE OTHERS TO BE THE GREATEST FOOL TO THINK ME AS A FOOL. .....
FOR THE " MAGICS " THAT I DO.
That is it
Regards and Thanks
