V.C.A :: Rip Van Winkle , Pied Piper Or The Sleeping Giant ?.
Cricket is growing
strong , and the players are getting big, bigger and biggest, they say. The pertinent
question is – IS SO ?. The answer to it may be true in certain cases in certain
region and it would not be in many of the parts of the country where cricket is
played.
Every time the
B.C.C.I comes out with a proclamation or a declaration, there is a
fervor and the fever runs amock. It is
always with cricket and if B.C.C.I comes
out with its plan for execution any plans for the benefit of the game or for
the players there are oceans of ink
poured in to write so magnificiently about B.C.C.I, but the million dollar
question is – DOES WHAT B.C.C.I DECLARES
HAPPENS.
Ranji Trophy
Players And Their System Of Payment-:
After the procedures of the Test matches and its payment which B.C.C.I first
did it for the former Test players, where the former Test players were awarded
the ONE TIME LIFE TIME PENSION , where a former Test player who played between
1 to 9 Test was awarded Rs 35 Lakhs for his contribution to India for playing
Test, Rs 50 Lakhs to those who played in
between 25 to 49 Teat matches, Rupees 60 lakhs to those who played
between 50 to 74 Test matches, Rupees 7s Lakhs to those who played in between
75 to 99 Test matches and Rs One Crore who played over 100 Test matches for
India.
These players also thereafter received the MONTHLY PAYMENT in terms of pension receiving Rupees 25,000=00 per month who had played between 1 to 9 Test matches for India, Rs 35,000=00 per month who had played 25 to 49 Test matches for India, Rs 50,000=00 those who had played between 50 Test matches to 74 Test matches for India, Rs 60,000=00 per month who had played between 75 to
99 Test matches for India. Not at all bad when onesees the contribution made by players , the famed of the yesteryears and the amount that they were receiving.
The Test players were better off in that manner. players
like Salim Durrani and Bapu Nadkarni really made their statements to be
precious and diamond alike, when they
appreciated the B.C.C.I for the gesture as they were graduating themselves from
the state of penury to betterment in
many a cases. The same sentiments were echoed by many of the former Test
players and this gesture of B.C.C.I completely caught the other big sporting
institute by surprise. They took it as a case study and then as an example to
look after their players .This was exemplary in terms of the example laid by
the B.C.C.I .
B.C.C.I thinks of the Former Ranji stalwarts:: Is The V.C.A anywhere
near and aware about the same-::
It was a former Ranji cricketer from Baroda, Tushar Arothe
who has played about 116 Ranji matches, If I’m not mistaken, who put a proposal to Mr Jaywant Lele, a former Office
bearer of the B.C.C.I to pay the Ranji stalwarts in the same manner. This idea
was mooted and it was put to the B.C.C.I in one of its Board meeting. The
matter was discussed over the years and on various occasion at different
meeting of the Board and then an idea was mooted to pay the Former Ranji stalwart according to
their contribution that they rendered to their respective State Cricket
Association.
V.C.A takes the lead
and implement the plan even before the B.C.C.I could put this into plan and
action-::
Samaritans at times, beat the time as they takes the leaf out of the
book much before to initiate their plan of action, and the V.C.A did exactly
that.
Being led by Mr Shashank manohar, whose son had played about
seven Ranji games for Vidharbha, the V.C.A came out with a plan to award or
give Rupees Five Thousand every month to the cricketers who had played for
Vidharbha. This they did because many of the old stalwart of Vidharbha, were
leading a PAINFUL and a MERCILESS life.It was agreed that after the exact plans
of the B.C.C.I would be implemented, the V.C.A then will prop up this payment
with the B.C.C.I plans of payment and the B.C.C.I plans of the payment according to the gradation and the standardization
would be implied. The arrears in that case would be awarded after proper
verification of the facts and the records.
THE V.C.A PERHAPS IS THE FIRST
STATE CRICKET ASSOCIATION TO AWARD THE PENSION SCHEMES TO ITS PLAYER AND Mr SHASHANK MANOHAR OUGHT TO BE CREDITED
BY THE VOLUMES OF GALLONS OF WATER THAT FLOWS IN THE PACIFIC.
The B.C.C.I comes
out with its plan :: Gradation and
Standardisation earmarked
The B.C.C.I acted a bit late, but it did. It came out with
its own plans for making payments to the old Ranji stalwarts. It graded the
players having played 1 to 24 matches who would be paid Rs 35 lakhs as ONE
TIME LIFE TIME JACKPOT PAYMENT , to those who had played between 25 to
49 matches would be paid Rs 50 Lakhs,
those who had played between 50 to 74 Ranji matches, a booty of 60 Lakhs, a booty of 75 lakhs to those who had played
between 75 to 99 matches for their State Association. This payment was simply
for those who had only played in the Ranji
Trophy matches, and not the TEST
matches.
B.C.C.I also
initiates the Monthly Payment for the Former Ranji stalwarts-::
Having decided upon the payment of the JACKPOT ONE TIME LIFE
PENSION, the BC.C.I. on the lines of the payment made to the Former Test
cricketers, also came out with a plan of MONTHLY PENSION PAYMENT for the Ranji
stalwarts.
I bench marked Rs 5000=00 per month for those players who
had played in between 1 to 9 Ranji Trophy matches for their State Association,
Rs 11,000=00 for those , per month ofcourse, who had played between 10 to 24 matches for
their State association .This amount was raised to Rs 15,000=00 thereafter ,
however the exact year when it was raised is not known to me. For those who had
played between 25 Ranji matches to 49 were paid Rs 20,000=00 to start with but
this amount also was raised to Es 22,500=00 per month . Similiarly those who had played in between 50
to 74 Ranji Trophy matches for their association were fixed at the payment as
pension for Rs 30,000=00 per month which was enhanced by the B.C.C. I for Rs
37,500=00 per month
B.C.C.I enhances
the payment for its Former Ranji Stalwart by 75% to 100% once again wef June 1st
2022
Under the stewardship of My Jay Shah, who is at present the SUPREMO
of the B.C.C.I and Sourav ganguly, the CHIEF ADVISER to Mr jay Shah for the
B.C.C.I, the FILTHY –RICH board , perhaps the RICHEST in the entire world , the B.C.C.I once again has broken all its jinx
and has capped the increment once again for its players. This time it saw the
B.C.C.I enhance its payment by 75% to 100% as the case may be for all the
former Ranji stars, the Umpires, the Statisticians and so hence and so forth.
As per the the fresh statement released those who received Rs 15,000=00 per month would receive
Rs 30,000=00,
those who were placed at the range of Rs 22,500=00 per month would now receive
Rs 45,000=00,
those who received Rs 37,500=00 would now receive Rs 62,000=00 or maybe
Rs
67,500=00 .
It only means that for an association like the V.C.A which
is still paying Rs 5,000=00 and Rs 11,000=00 to its players will now have to
direct their accountants and the Finance managers to fall back and start
calculating the arrears payments that ought to be played to its former Ranji
stars with the back date effect beside the new payments from the retrospective
effect and this ought to be paid on the PRO-RATA basis if the cases ought to be
that as that could be.
Are The Cats Being
Belled, Or Still These Are The Giants At Sleep - :
Does the V.C.A knows that most of the leading Association
have fallen back to the B.C.C.I on these matters and after having received the
notifications and the orders for the same from the B.C.C.I, they have released
the aforesaid payments to the players
who have played Ranji Trophy for their associations. It is only the V.C.A which still is laid on the plateau of
Ad-Hoc payment which it started like a Samaritan , still paying Rs 5,000=00 to
its old stalwart.
A cricketer like Shashikant Kanetkar who played in three
Ranji Trophy matches would receive a monthly payment of about Rs 20,000=00 per
month, beside a JACKPOT of Rs 35lakhs as ONE TIME LIFETIME JACKPOT pension, , and not to forger the arrears
as well from the back date and this they do deserve. Similarly the case with
those who are no more, to cite Dilip Subedar, Satish Takle, Sanjay Jugade. Their wives ought to be handed
the JACKPOT and if their wives are alive, they have to declare that they are
the wife of the deceased stars with proof and they would be eligible for these
pension till they are alive.
The pension scheme is covered by the pension plans that is
being regulated by the Government of India. Hence it covers , both the Husband
and the Wife. Till the moment one is alive, till the last , he or she,
continues to get the payment. The wife's
of the deceased like Satish Takle, Sanjay Jugade, Dilip Subedar, Bhaskar Joshi, to cite as an
example will have to be helped by the likes of the SAMARITANS like Ujval Dalvi,
Ashok Bhagwat , Jayanthilal Rathore , Rajan Nair , or Suhas Phadkar to name a few. They have to come in ands meet all the former stalwarts, collect the informations about them, and put the proposal to the V.C.A to give them their dues that they deserve.
It is so intriguing that while the players for the other
associations are drawing the entire benefits that had been offered by the B.C.C.I, the V.C.A is
still at sleep and the players are on the bed of death in some cases and many
are languishing , hoping the eternity to bless them to be fine.
Will the sleeping giants of the V C A rise up and act fast
to even the ridges and make the stay a better
for an imagination for the former cricket stars of Vidharbha, or is it that
the DEATH WOULD RIDE A HORSE
for these cricketers.
There is also a rule that the Board implies. If the
Association does not implements the directions of the B. C. C. I within 60 days
of the notification that is released to be implied upon, the Association can be
barred from playing the National matches that relates to cricket, beside losing
the right to hold the international matches and if that happens with the V.C.A
the SLEEPING GIANTS would be
totally responsible for it.
That would lead to destructing the future of the buddies of
Vidharbha and its cricketers.
Hello, the B.C.C.I
ARISE and AWAKE to move the WORLD of cricket.
LASTLY, HELLO THE V. C. A , I DID PLAY GUJDAR CRICKET FOR VICTORY CRICKET CLUB, KAMPTEE FOR ONE YEAR, IN 1978-79, AND FOR THE WESTERN COALFIELD AREA OFFICE FOR THREE YEARS FROM 1980 TO 1983.
My RECORD of holding NINE catches in a Gujdar Cricket match for Victory cricket Club, Kamptee against the PARSI GYMKHANA, in 1978 still is a RECORD for the HIGHEST number of catches by any WICKETKEEPER playing in the " D " division Gujdar Cricket League for his team , and this record still stands.
I have played with those cricketers during my time where many did go a long way to play Ranji Trophy for Vidharbha, and having watched their state of affairs now, I REQUEST THE SLEEPING GIANTS of V.C.A to act fast.
That is it
Regards and Thanks
