Garrincha: An Illustrated History With  Rare Photographs Of An Illustrated Arguably Best “ DRIBBLER ” Born To Football

A thing of beauty is a joy forever – is a line immortalized by John Keats in Endymion.

This line is the HEART taken for illustrating and writing this article for arguably the best football that the world of football and football has ever produced.He was miles ahead of Pele when it came to the art of dribbling.

This article is being written on the day when the  world celebrates or remembers, if at all it remembers this MAGICAL and WIZAEDY footballer whose equal is none when it come to anybody playing at the inside right wing and the manner he would dribble when he was in full flow and motion describing his action in which his foot or the feet simply told that- GET LOST OF MY WAY, OR YOU WOULD BE LOST WHEN MY LEG SPEAKS.

Clearly his feet spoke more than anybody could speak about his game, and that was him as a footballer.

 ‘Beauty’ is an aspect that has caught the imagination of the human race since its evolution, and ‘Sport’ is that which has united humanity since time immemorial. Over the years, perhaps no other sport in this world has been followed as closely and passionately as football. Apparently, it is a simple game comprising 22 players who run across the length and breadth of a rectangular field with a single ball to execute their craft; but beneath all the running rests ‘a canvas’ on which the greatest performers of the sport paint their picture, which is precisely why it is referred to as, ‘The Beautiful Game’.  One of those artists was Manuel Francisco dos Santos, popularly known as Garrincha (a little bird). He was a genius, a folk hero, who scripted innumerable beautiful moments some   photographs for my readers as part of our homage along with few exclusive snaps with his  friends who were the real classical beauties, with whom he had " FUN " , as for Garrincha, football and life to him was a fun. . This I do on the eve of the the 22nd WORLD CUP that starts today on the birthday of Garricha, Had he been alive today he would have been celebrating his 86th birthday.

Manuel Santos later that we knew as Garrincha  was born on November 20th , 1936 in Magé, Rio de Janeiro to an alcoholic father and a mother both from very poor backgrounds.

It Was Defect Of Garrincha Yet He Became The Best Dribbler Of Football

His birth defects included – a deformed spine, right leg bent inwards and left leg six centimetres shorter and curving outwards. The last two were reasons for his gait on the football field and hence the nickname Garrincha. Considering all these setbacks, his feats in the field seem even more unreal

In 1953, after being rejected by several teams because of his abnormal physique, Garrincha was finally selected by Botafogo on the recommendation of Gentil Cardoso, one of the legendary coaches of the time who had coached all the great teams of Rio de Janeiro. He remains to this day, Botafogo’s global symbol of fame. He played 12 seasons with Botafogo winning three state championships, twice becoming the Brazilian Champion Club and managing one intercontinental Championship

Pele Wanted The " FAME" , Garrincha Wanted The " WORLD CUP " For Brazil And  "  FUN "

So was he a better player than Pelé?  Could be yes… could be no… difficult to gauge as they played in different positions. There are some who still believe he is better than Pelé and he did not get his due from the world soccer fraternity as Pelé has received. Pelé was a methodical genius, who knew what he was doing. He had a plan for his actions. He knew his stature in world football and fully utilized it. He appeared in commercials, worked hard, considering his poverty stricken background, and became a global sports icon and a multi-millionaire. Garrincha though, just wanted to have fun – both in the field and off it. His passions in life were football, women and alcohol. The reason I am bringing in Pelé in this tribute to Garrincha is that people tend to limit Brazilian football to Pelé and consider him as a benchmark, time and again. With no disrespect to perhaps football’s greatest ever player, I am just honouring Garrincha by saying that he deserves not to live in the shadow of his great contemporary. Such was the impact of Pelé and Garrincha together that Brazil never lost a match when both played together.

Something Different Was Garrincha ::
It was something that he was so different for, and the ONE was his ENORMOUS INBUILT PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND THE ENDURANCE.
One would NOT believe it when I write but I write with immense perfection with all adulation to him that everytime when he entered the football pitch to play the match, a HOUR BEFORE he would have GREAT SEX with any ladies that approached her and the list included the erswhile Princess of Egypt in that manner and in that list

Immediately after the match again, there would not be any number less of the ladies that would leach him for sex and he would do it.
  HE DID IT TO RELEASE ALL HIS PRESSURE BEFORE AND AFTER THE GAME.

One would not BELIEVE me if I write, but at the time of his death at Brazil, he had FORTY NINE Childrens born to him, all by the TOP-CLASS-BEAUTIES that existed then in the world. There is another school of thoughts which says that there were only 13 of them . Whatever it maybe, he lived for the two " F "  , FUN and FOOTBALL and he was a CLASS without doubt in both the segment of the same.

The " CHAPLIN " OF FOOTBALL - ::

FIFA, in their official tribute to Garrincha refers to him as, “The Chaplin of football’ – and that description probably suits him the best. Legendary South American writer, Eduardo Galeano in his book ‘Soccer in Sun and Shadow’ says: “When he was in form, the pitch became a circus. The ball became an obedient animal, and the game became an invitation to party. Garrincha would shield his pet, the ball, and together they would conjure up some wonderful tricks that would have the spectators in stitches. He would hop over her, and she would bounce over him. Then she would hide before he would escape only to find her already running in front of him. Along the way, his pursuers would crash into each other in their attempts to stop him.”
Garrincha The  " BEST FOOTBALLER " Of The WORLD In 1962

His moment of glory was the World Cup held at Chile in 1962. Pele received a in
jury which was so ghast that he could not take part in any of the match after the second match that he played for Brazil in that World Cup. This it was left to whom who would take the job that Pelke could do for Brazil. Pat came the answer. IT WAS ALL GARRINCHA.
He tore teams after teams in every match and in the Finals, he tore apart the Czechoslovakia  like a LION that tears his prey for a heart meal .
Correctly he was adjudicated and conferred with the BEST-FOOTBALLER-OF-THE-WORLD-CUP-FOOTBALL in 1962.

That is it
