Dhyanchand And Pele - The Two EMPORERS Of Two " BEAUTIFUL " Game Of Wizardy And Magic With So " EQUAL " Statistics And Records
Like in a human body you have a heart and a lung. You have a
pair of eye, a pair of nostril or the asals as you may call it , you have a
pair of ear , a pair of hand, a pair of
leg, the two jaws, the upeer and the lower. Which one is more precious than
that of the other. Could one comparison
be made of the two. Could you or any would ever be able to do so.
It is a rare that the pair comes in one generation and the
players of the same quality are there in the team, in sports to carry out for
their team. Rarely has one seen two players possessing the same quality and
playing the same sports for their team. It happened once when in football, Garrincha and Pele thje two equal
quality players played for Brazil from 1956 to 1966 and the result was Brazil
never ;lost a football game till the two played together.
It also happened once in Tennis when Rod laver and Ken
Rosewall played together for Australia and they never lost the Davis Cup till
they played together. Else never has it
happened that two players playing the same game of equal standards for everything
played together for their country.
In the arena of the BALL-GAME
, that is full with magic, wizardy, which
is full of hallucination, and the game that regales when the master of the
wizards produce those mesmerizing moments which completely turns the table of
the game from being away to their own fold, two ILLIMINARIES , from the game of Football and Hockey, both
the ball game of sports, will never have any comparison for the other to come
anywhere near them till this earth survive.
Completely bringing out the magic, from their sleeves, and
absolutely commanding the game with their presence of mind to bring out those
unbelievable moments which would turn the game in their favour and for their
team, the two Dhyanchand of India and pele will never have anybody compares.
Both are the innovators, moderators, originators and commanders of the highest
and the supreme quality that ruled the game till they played and have left such
an incredulous mark on the sand and the earth that nobody would be able to even
think of touching their records, leave apart beating it.
Pele was born on 23rd October 1941 and Dhyanchand
was born on August 29th 1905. Here the date of the birth in terms of
the month was different but the date was somewhat in the same, last week of the
respective month.
Pele expired on December 30th 2022 ( Indian
Standard Time ) and Dhyanchand expired on December 3rd 1979. Here
again the month of their death is same, though the date differs but the numeric
again remains the same with the numeral 3 being the common factor. The last common factor was that they played the ball
game, one played with his legs, which was Pele and the other played with the
hands which glued the ball in its stick using the hand.. Ofcourse eyes would
never believe the magic that they would produce with the ball that they
controlled to win the game for their club teams, and for their country.
Well interms of the family that both had, Dhyanchand had
SEVEN sons and four daughters whereas Pele has seven sons and daughters.
Somewhat not equal in numbers though equal in the ratio as the mathematicians
would say.
Milk Drinking
Babies Inducted Into the Team - ::
If one talks about
the wisdom and the history of the game, both were in the national team within
the same age bracket. When they were included in their respective national team, every mouth had said the words that the MILK FEEDING BABIES will have a short career in sports and they would be off in no time. However they proved their critics wrong.
Pele was only seventeen years of age when he played his first World Cup match at Sweden in 1958 and Dhyanchand was also seventeen years of age when he was first selected to play for India in an international Hockey match for British India Hockey team at Ceylon ( Sri-Lanka )
Pic - : The
National Hospital Of Sao Paulo .Brazil Medically Certifying Pele As “ FIT ” To
Play International matches For Brazil At The Age Of Sixteen Against U.S.S.R At
Moscow
Pele was just sixteen years of age when he played his first
international against U.S.S.R at Moscow in 1956 . The reason why it took
Dhyanchand to wait till the age of twenty three to play his first international
for India in the Olympics at Amsterdam in 1928, was that Hockey as
Olympic sports was not held in 1912, 1916, and 1924.If it was and if it
were a part of the Olympics event in 1920, then Dhyanchand perhaps would have
made his international debut at the age of fifteen. He had to wait as the
destiny made him to wait.
Unparalleled
Record Of Winning The World Title For Three Times :: Both Considered To Be “ GOD ”
Pele played in four World Cup matches playing two in 1958,
one in 1962 two in 1966 and seven in 1970 totaling twelve games and winning the
trophy, the WORLD CUP FOOTBALL
titles THREE times scoring twelve
goals in the 12 games that he played. Dhyanchand played in three
Olympics in 1928, 1932, and 1936 and won the THREE OLYMPICS GOLD, then the WORLD TITLE of Hockey as beside the Olympics, Hockey was not
played by any other means for the World titles.
Dhyanchand and his case was three out of three but in Pele’s
case it was three out of four. Perhaps had the World War not interrupted the
game in 1940 and 1944, surely for bet ,
Dhyanchand would have won both the Olympic gold for India leading the team in
1940, and would have paved the way for his younger brother Roop Singh to lead
in 1944. Maybe Dhyanchand would have ended scoring fifty plus goals for India
in the Olympic hockey, as he had finished his sojourn scoring thirty nine goals for India in
the Olympic hockey.
Miraculous And
Marvellous Records :: Pele Considered To Be A
“ BLACK PEARL” And Dhyanchand A “ WIZARD ”
If one needs to
make the comparison, one would be surprised and one would not believe that both
the players mentioned here played in all the position before they decided to choose
their most favourite to play in that position for the rst of their life. It
is for these facts and record that they earnmed the sobriquets that is
mentioned here .
I’m placing herewith the facts about these two who played the game in the most similar fashion and ended their career in almost the same manner. Here under are the facts-::
Comparism-:
1). Pele scored some spectacular goals off his bi-cycle kicks for Santos and Brazil. After winning the World Club Football Championship for Santos way back in 1967, and watching him score those spectacle courtesy his bi-cycle kicks, he was offered a lucrative sum by Real Madrid, and Manchester United, but he declined to leave Santos and play at Europe.
TOTAL-:
Pele played in 1248 football games for
Santos and Brazil , Dhyanchand played in than 1246 games for hockey for all his clubs,ie, Jhansi Heroes, Sikh Regiment and Battalion, and
for India all the clubs that he played
till he retired from the game .
2). DEBUT-
Pele made his debut in 1958 for Brazil in the World Cup when he was 17 years of
age, Dhyanchand made his debut at the
age of 23 years when he played for India
in the Amsterdam Olympics
3). WORLD CUP FOOTBALL
HEROICS-: Pele played in FOUR World Cups in 1958, 1962 , 1966 and 1970
whereas Dhyanchand played in three
Olympics, in 1928, 1932, and 1936 .
4). WORLD CUP FOOTBALL
TITLES-: Pele won three World Cup in 1958(Best Player of the WC) ,
1962, aqnd in 1970( Best Player of the World Cup). Dhyanchand won three Olympics GOLD in 1928,
1932, and 1936 being adjudicated as the best hockey player in all these three
Olympics that played hockey in those respective Olympics.
4).WORLD CLUB FOOTBALL
TITLES-: Pele won THREE WORLD CUP FOOTBALL TITLES for Santos, Dhyanchand did not get a chance al all to PLAY
in the WORLD CUP CLUB HOCKEY games as
during those times, and even now, the world club hockey competitions are not
held.
5). GOALS
SCORED-: In the total of 1248 games that Pele played he scored over 1246
goals for his teams be it the Brazil National Team, or his club Santos. He also
scored a separate of forty three goals, for his junior provincial teams, at
Brazil which are not counted in the records thus totalling 1289 goals in his
entire career. Dhyanchand had played in 1246 games in all scoring 1248 goals
for his respective teams.
6). International
Goals In World Cup And Olympics Pele scored 12 goals in the World Cup Football matches that he played
for Brazil, Dhyanchand scored thirty nine in the three
Olympics that he played for India.
7).Red Cards/Yellow
Cards/Green Cards-: Pele in his ENTIRE life did not even see a GREEN
CARD while playing the game. Dhyanchand too in his entire career was not
flashed for a green card, leave apart the Yellow or the Red Card.
7). Playing in
DIFFERENT positions-: Pele played in the Left Wing Half defense in TWO
games for Santos, Pele played as a Central stopper in ONE match for Santos,
Pele played in the Left Midfield position in one match for Brazil, Pele played
in the Central Misfield position in one match for Brazil( Brazil versus Romania
1970 WC, Brazil won that match by 3-2) and Pele played in ONE match as a RIGHT
winger for Brazil(1966 World Cup Match against Hungary), beside playing as a
Goalkeeper in one of the match for Santos. Ditto and exactly by Dhyanchand
while playing for his Army unit team, . No and nothing as a difference could be
pointed out before both decided to play as a Centre Forward for their
respective country. .
Goal Scoring Ability- Beside the goals that each scored that I
have mentioned here, Pele scored goals from all the position and in those
matches that I have mentioned here. Exactly and same is the case for Dhyanchand
when it comes to the compares. .
Penalties- Pele NEVER in his
entire career, scored a goal from the penalties. HE NEVER BELIEVED IN
PENALTIES. In every games that he played for Brazil, Brazil went on to win OUTRIGHT. Same and ditto is the case with Dhyanchand as
he nevr believed in scoring through the penalty strokes. .
People
can ALWAYS have their CHOICE for their HEROES but COMPARISM of PELE with any
other footballer here on this PLANET EARTH-IMPOSSIBLE it is One should not even
think of it. . In the same fashion, compares with Dhyanchand as a hockey player
just cannot be even given a thought and nobody would come near to them
Pele
had Garrincha who was as equal to him as a footballer and Dhyanchand had
K.D.Singh Babu who could be compared as equal to him in Hockey.
The
similiarty is till the moment Pele and Garrincha played football together for
Brazil, they did not loose even a single game for Brazil. Similiarly when
Dhyanchand and K.D.Singh Babu played together for India, India never lost any
game against their opponent be it the exhibition club matches, the
international hockey matches or an invitational hockey series Test matches.
The Inventions That
They Made It To Give It To Their Game-:: No Doubt They were Considered As. “ GOD
” of the game they played .

Pele modified the SCISSORS KICK and completely gave a new shape to the air
borne back volley by adding some features that the world called it as to be theBi-CYCLE kick. These two were the inventions of LEONIDAS of Brazil who played in
the 1938 World Cup Football for Brazil.

to leave Santos and play at Europe. In the similar vein , Dhyanchand also refused to take the offer that Adolf Hitler made it to him for joining the German Army as a FIELD MARSHAL .

Dhyanchand
brought in the ZIG-ZAG runs
in the game of hockey which was later modified adding to it the diabolical passes that K.D.Singh Babu would use when
he played for India. One might
surprise the world, Dhyanchand played about 35 cricket matches in his entire
lifetime. However he did not
play in any Ranji Trophy matches.
The
Zigzag run now has been modified to many a new variant of the run.It was first
developed in Hockey by Major Dhyanchand but in 1948 it was modified and some
variants in terms of innovation which also added the diabolical passes, were
put into the pace by K.D.Singh Babu.

Did
Dhyanchand Get The Place At India What Pele Got At Brazil-::
There os one more and a very judicious point I would like to first ask, and then write. The question is-::
WILL EVER THE WORLD SEE THESE TWO TYPES OF SPORTSMAN BEING BORN.
NEVER- never would be the ANSWER and NEVER it would be. For that is the GREATNESS that the destiny had instilled in them.
Did Dhyanchand get that honour from India. NO.
NEVER
Shouldn't he be conferred with the Bharat Ratna.
YES- and the time is now.
That is it
Regards and Thanks
