A " CRADLE-RIDDEN " Hockey Player , Balbir Singh Senior, Made To Be " WINDOW-DRESSED " To Be " ELEVENTH- GURU-SAHIB" Of Punjab And Hockey

Balbir Singh Senior- Cradled And Hyped-::

So many players have been given too much of undue hype by the media and the press, and their contribution , though not that much which would make anybody to rub their eyes in disbelief, they have left an impression that they were something which had no parallels, which were untrue, and the Hockey player Balbir Singh Senior, was one of them.

In his entire Hockey career, he had to depend on the others to make him a HERO, which they made him. He took those opportunity to  make the people belief that he was something made EXTRA-ORDINARY which he  never was. However the media and the press made him so and he enjoyed those media glare and the focus that was thrown to him as a light.

Balbir Singh Entry In India Team-::

Balbir Singh actually was nowhere in the picture at all, when the Indian team for the London Olympics were held and selected. The Chief Selector, Major Dhyanchand, the WIZARD of Indian Hockey had selected the Indian team which had Udham Singh selected to play as a Centre- Forward.

In an exhibition match which was played between the REST OF INDIA and the selected Indian Eleven team, the match being played at Dehradoon, the Rest Of Indian team which was playing the selected Indian team for Olympics, got a penalty corner. During those days, there was a player by the name of Abdul Rauf Khan Aligarhi, who was basically from Aligarh  , from United Province, now Uttar Pradesh , who was perhaps the most powerful hitter of the penalty corners of the many who played as a deep defender for  the teams that played Hockey at India then .

He went on to take that shot for the Rest Of India, and his shot taken, was so thunderous and so powerful, that Udham Singh, when he rushed to nullify it and stop it, the ball which was shot by Rauf, hit the CURVE END of the Hockey stick, of Udham Singh, , and it jumped up so furiously and so thunderously, that it hit the jaw of Udham Singh, and he fell flat on the ground.

He was rushed to the local hospital where they gave him the first aid, but the hospital told that he ought to be taken to the hospitals, where they could take care of the fracture caused to his jaw which was so badly broken that blood like the stream was continuously flowing from his nose and his mouth.

Udham Singh was rushed by a military helicopter to Punjab and was admitted in a Governmental Hospital where the Military personnel were treated at Ludhiana at Punjab, and the name of the hospital was. M.H Hospital .

A vacancy rose up about whom to select as a Centre Forward for the Indian team. Dhyanchand, the chief selector was in dilemma then.  He had no other player to repose his faith. It was K.D.Singh Babu who with Kishenlal approached Dhyanchand to plead him to include Balbir singh senior as the Centre Forward. The explanation given by them were as follow-::

1). Balbir Singh Senior was a regular at all the camp whenever it was held to select the Indian team. Thus he and his fitness was never in doubt.

2). He had played many a practice match with K.D.Singh Babu  who always was played at the Inside Right position by Dhyanchand, and with Kishenlal at the Centre Half. Thus he had understanding to read the moves created by them and make use of the same

Pic - :: , 1952- With The Goalkeeper At His Mercy, Balbir Singh Senior Misses An " GLODEN " Opportunity To Score Of A K.D.Singh Babu pass

3). That the time to wait and select a much needed Indian Centre Forward for the London Olympics was over. Within another three days, the team was to board the plane to London. It would be wastage of time to find another alternative as a Centre Forward for the team  Thus it would be better to select Balbir Singh Senior and include him in the team for London Olympics. This is how Balbir Singh Senior made his place in the Indian Olympic Hockey team for the London Olympics.

He came in as a player who was included in the side because the original selected for the London Olympics was injured and could not make the trip. This goes too far to prove that Balbir Singh Senior was NOT even in the BEST of the EIGHTEEN players selected originally for granting him the place in the original Indian squad.

This will go onto to prove that HOW WRONGLY AND INJUDIOUSLY THE BALBIR SINGH SENIOR GROUP ARE RUNNING A WEBSITE TO PLACE HIM SO WRONGLY IN THE ANNALS AND FRATERNITY OF INDIAN HOCKEY.

In the group matches, India beat Austria by 8-0 with Balbir Singh Senior not playing the game because of what is was said that he was carrying an injury. In the second match against Argentina Balbir Singh Senior was made to play for the entire first half where he scored FIVE goals out of a 9-1 victory for India. At the half time he was dispensed with his services, as he complained of a groin injury ,  as he was carrying an injury and India had to play with TEN players. It was then Argentina who scored ONE goal against India , their very FIRST against India in any International Hockey match against India.

The question is when he was injured why was he played at all. This case of injury and its complaint by Balbir Singh Senior till the moment he played Hockey for India started in 1948 at the London Olympics and it continued till he played his last game in the Olympics in 1956 against Pakistan where he played again with an injury…….. anyway about it at last in this article.

Coming back to London Olympics, India played her last game against Spain and in a see-saw encounter where both the team played a harrowing game, the BITCHY-WIZARD of Babu and Tarsem Singh, who scored in the 10th minute of the game and Babu in the 15th minutes, saw India beating Spain by 2-0 to make it to the semis.

Semis Of The London Olympics-::

In the semis of the London Olympics, again Balbir Singh Senior did not make it to the playing eleven. In the morning on the same day, he complained of a serious pain in his toe, saying that his pain was so severe that would not be able to play the game. He was not played and on a slushy heavy ground, and in that semis ,  after conceding a first half lead to Holland , India scored through Pater Jansen, and K.D.Singh Babu again to beat them by 2-1 to move into the finals.

Seeing India in the finals, Balbir Singh Senior made it clear to the think tank of the Indian team that he was now fully fit enough to play in the finals, he was played in the first eleven.  He missed three open chances of scoring goal in the first three minutes, two off superlative defense splitting pass from Babu and one from Kishenlal. However he made his amends when a Jansen-Babu ONE-TWO play and then a fabulous run of Babu to lay for Balbir Singh senior a defense splitting pass from the top of the D, saw him collecting the ball and placing it to the goal beating the English goalkeeper.

The game of India saw many chances being created by India through Babu, Kishenlal, Keshav Dutt to keep on feeding Balbir Singh Senior, where he kept on missing them lest when Tarsem Singh made it 3-0 for India, Balbir Singh Senior scored the last goal of a Kishen Lal-TarsemSingh-Jansen move for him  to collect it in front of the goal to score and make it 4-0 for India.

This made him a SUPER-DUPER hero of Punjab by the media and the Punjabi media with the TRIBUNE leading the way , Balbir Singh Senior with the help of these kind of media, and the back-up of the Punjab Police, where he was employed made him to be believed that he was something very extra-ordinary in terms of a Hockey player and in terms of a scorer for India in Hockey which actually he was not.

In the London Olympics, India played FIVE games in all, in which Balbir Singh Senior played a TWO-AND-A-HALF game in total. He scored SEVEN  (07) goals out of the  38 passes in the front of the goals that he received, missing THIRTY ONE (31 )  open chances . That was NOT at all accounted for by any media and by anybody.Except the TIMES-OF-INDIA, where Mr Rodrigues, the one who was covering the Olympics events for India came up with these figure to disclaim him as a national Hockey hero, nobody actually came up with the truth of fallacies that was hovered around Balbir Singh Babu.

In an attempt to do so, the GUILES and the DEEDS of K.D.Singh Babu, Keshav Dutt, Kishenlal, and Randhir Singh Gentle, and NOT TO FORGET the WILES of Peter Jansen, who actually was a Danish but settled at India got completely covered under the debris of Indian hockey. Unfortunately,  not so worthy Balbir Singh Senior was made the HERO of the Indian Hockey and the media, the people of Punjab backed by the Punjab Police and the Government of Punjab then made him a HERO as equivalent to Dhyanchand which he NEVER was.

Olympics 1952:: Were The Olympics Committee Technical Members A “ FOOL ”

Helsinki it was which was allotted to host the 1952 Olympics. The World War – II took that honour from her. To offset that the Olympic Committee awarded that games to HELSINKI in 1952. Pavo Nurmi was the WORLD HERO of the Olympics by then in the World Stage of the Athlete who was making waves after waves in the Athletics arena in Javelin throw and he hailed from Finland at Helsinki.

The Complete Knock Out Hockey Tourney :: The “” ONLY IN OLYMPICS ””

The Helsinki Olympics has been the ONLY ONE in the entire Annals of the history that the Olympics Hockey carries. For that was the only OLYMPICS where the entire tourney of every ball game was played on the KNOCK-OUT basis. Hockey thus for the FIRST time in the annals of the Olympics, was played on the knock-out basis.

The REASON for it was just after the WORLD WAR – II, the COLD WAR took place and the Soviets, the countries opposing the Soviets including Finland were at the loggerheaeds with the Soviet. The Fins were completely at cross roads to hold the Olympics but within a limited budget.

This was the reason that all the team games that were played at the Helsinki Olympics were played on the STRAIGHT KNOCK-OUT basis. This was to round off the events early and save on the accounts of finance.

In Hockey the Indian team got a BYE in the first round for having won the GOLD in the London Olympics. They played Austria in the Quarters beating them by 4-0 with Balbir Singh Senior not playing the game at all for the injury that he said that he was carrying after India had played a friendly match against the Holland side just before that tourney started.India in that match had defeated Holland by 3-1 and Balbir Sing Senior after the match complained of a tremendous pain in the right knee for which he was sidelined.

He came up in the semis against Great Britain which India won by 3-1 in which he did not score any. He missed four OPEN SITTERS with the goalkeeper at his mercy. He was fed juicy and juices in the entire duration of that semis against Britain but he failed to score any.

Finals Of The Helsinki 1952 Olympics-::

The finals saw him playing the game against Holland. It was a very TIGHT decision that was made to play him.He continuously would give some excuses about his pains etc, before and after the match and the Indian coach for the Olympics 1952, Mr Chatterjee did not want him to play the finals.

Mr Chatterjee as a coach had studied Balbir Singh’s aptitude very correctly. He had found that this man, as a player and as a Vice-captain of the team, in 1952 wanted to have a complete say in all the matter of Hockey for the Indian team.He wanted to sway over K.D.Singh Babu who had narrowly missed winning the HELMS AWARD in 1948 at the London Olympucs. The HELMS AWARD for the 1948 for the London Olympics was won by a CEYLONESE ( Sri-Lanka ) now for winning the SILVER for his country in a track and field event, thus becoming the FIRST ever  Asian to win that award.

Looking into the manner that K.D.Singh Babu was making a LEEWAY and a HEADWAY in the WORLD-OF-HOCKEY, a disgruntled Balbir Singh Senior started making all the antics to prove himself that HE WAS THE KING OF EVERY THINGS THAT BOILED TO HOCKEY and that he wanted all the SWAY  to be under his control. He wanted to dictate the Indian Hockey within the field. The Punjab Government making him as a model for Hockey to promote Punjab as the kingpin of Indian Hockey would always support his whims but the Indian think-tank with a HARD-BOILED BENGALI in Mr Chatterjee as a coach was in no mood to bow down to his grumble and guanlets that he would throw. .

The result was he made some lame excuses in the first match against Austria that India played , thinking that a narrow win against Austria would make the Indian think tank to bow down before him, but that did not happen Looking into that he quickly made his way to the Indian team to play Great Britain in the semis. He played but was a disaster. He wasted FOUR open and GOLDEN chances during the course of the match though India beat Great Britain by 3-1 to move into the Finals.

In the finals the Indian team and its Captain K.D.Singh Babu made it very clear that from the flanks, be it he, be it Jansen be it Udham Singh, be it anybody that plays for India  either in the HALVES or in the FORWARD line, all the passes would be laid for Balbir Singh Senior to score. The entire Indian team followed the orders.

Why did The Indian Think Tank At Helsinki Decide To Put All passes To Balbir Singh Sr -:

There is a story to the same and that holds good. Infact the first time when India played against Holland after the Independence was in the semis of the 1948 Olympics at London. Holland were leading by 1-0 at the breather. They took out the life and the morrow  from the bones of the Indian. It was K.D.Singh Babu in the second half who played like a magician showing his unbelievable skill which was hard to believe that those skill exists in Hockey.India somehow through two goals, the winning one from K.D.Singh Babu made the difference and put their feet in the finals.

A exhibition match thereafter was held at Amsterdam immediately after this Olympics of 1948 ,  when the Indian team was returning home from London. In that match India defeated Holland by 5-1. K.D.Singh Babu had scored two out of the five.

All the goals were scored in the first half by the Indians in that exhibition match,  and in the second, Holland reduced the margin .Finally it ended with India winning by 5-1. Again a Dutch team had toured India in 1951-52 just before the Helsinki Olympics, and they played five games against some selected Indian team.In all the matches, the Dutch would concede some goals in the first half but would reduce the margin in the second. In other words the first half would belong to the Indian team and the second would belong to the Dutch.

This was noted and  on the eve of the India-Holland finals in 1952 , at Helsinki,  the Indian team think tank decided to pump in as many goals against Holland in the FIRST HALF itself. .The records and the statistics made the Indian think tank of the team to decide this. They decided , then, to pass as many as passes that could be to Balbir Singh  Senior, to score, and streams of passed from the left, right and centre came to him

India missed four open chances in the first four miniutes and on all the occassion Balbir Singh Senior kept on missing them.  However India opened their account in the 14th minute, scored again in the 15th minute, all through Balbir Singh senior. India added one more in the 35th minute through K.D.Singh Babu and one more in the 34th minute.

After the interval india scored two, in the 45th minute and one in the 55th minute but Holland reduced the margin scoring one after they had conceded the fourth one. This is the story of Balbir singh Senior scoring FIVE goals in the finals and missing the other SIX open chances of scoring

His daughter Madam Sushbir Bhumia always shrieks about her Father scoring five goals in the finals, displaying a BULL-SHIT of a certificate perhaps issued by some encyclpedia highlighting those records in terms of the certificate. Good if that is the WORST is the as many as SIX OPEN  CHANCES THAT HE MISSED IN THAT GAMES WHICH ARE NOT HIGHLIGHTED. Better let them accept this fact too before making a HELL of the other's life , by a FALSE OUTCRY

AFTER ALL - AS THAT IS , WE DO NOT HAVE TO LEARN ABOUT " HOCKEY-GOLD " BY WATCHING THE " PISS - AND - THE - SHIT "  that comes out of the pen of the bollywood funks.

As it happened, in the finals

In the finals , at Helsinki, in 1952, it was a BEWILDRING  K.D.Singh Babu with his UNBELIEVABLE show of MAGICAL hockey full of WIZZY and HOUDINI play which completely mesmerized the eye that was watching the game, laid out as many as ELEVEN GOLDEN PASSES which were of those types of passes were you just have to close your eye and tap the ball in for the goal. He MISSED as many as SIX of them and SCORED in FIVE These FIVE goals are what the OWLS of HOCKEY who do not know the A,B,C of ther PARABLES of INDIAN HOCKEY keep on hyping these goals to make him a GREAT NATIONA HERO which he is NOT.

Olympics Helsinki 1952, :: K.D.Singh Babu Wins The “ BEST-OLYMPIAN-PLAYER ”  AWARD

The BEST OLYMPIAN award till the Olympics of 1948 was divided into TWO section. To promote the Olympics event at Asia, the Olympian Award committee presented the HELMS AWARD as the award for being the BEST Asian in the Olympics and then there was another award as the BEST OLYMPIAN athlete for the same Olympics.

This award was later changed to being ONE in the 1952 Olympics by the Organising Committee of the Olympics and it was decided that there would be ONE award for the BEST OLYMPIAN as a award for the Helsinki Olympics. There were THREE Americans, one from U S S R and two swimmers, one each from Hungary and Australia who were ther in the counts for that garb for that award,   but when finally the name of the winner was announced the WORLD was in DISBELIEF rubbing their eye in wonder and gazed, to see that an Indian by the name of K.D.Singh Babu walking away with the award leaving everybody far behind

WERE THE OLYMPICS COMMITTEE MEMBERS A FOOL,THEN,TO FINALLY CONFER K.D.SINGH BABU WITH THIS AWARD INSTEAD OF BALBIR SINGH SENIOR. This is NOT a question of CONJECTURE but this is what is the entire NATION, INDIA, now has to UNDERSTAND.

If Balbir Singh Senior was SO GREAT and SO MARVELLOUS a player of Hockey why was the BEST OLYMPIAN AWARD in terms of the HELMS AWARD was conferred to K.D.Singh Babu ?? Here starts the debate and here ends the debate with an answer that K.D.Singh Babu was FAR SUPERIOR to Balbir Singh Senior in everything in terms of being a Hockey player.

It was K.D.Singh Babu as a Hockey player who completely bore the burden of the Indian Hockey team to pull it to stand on the VICTORY PODIUM WITH THE GOLDS that India had won, but here back in India, in the media, in the movies that were produced by the SHITS without knowing anything in Hockey and the Punjab administration taking the help of the newspaper like the Tribune, feeding them with all the advertisements and the Tender notice, the Punjab State Administration made Balbir Singh Senior as the ONE-MAN-DEMLITION-SQUAD of Indian Hockey which actually he was NOT and the proof was the HELMS AWARD conferred to K.D.Singh Babu.

SCORE “ ONE ” , MISS “ THREE ” :: Those Were The Playing Highness Of Balbir Singh Senior

The FOOLS from the FRATERNITY OF HOCKEY and the family of Balbir Singh Senior always make a rant of the same about Balbir Singh Senior as the NATIONAL HERO for helping India to win the THREE OLYMPIC GOLD after the Independence equaling his effort to Major Dhyanchand. The difference is Major Dhyanchand ALONE pulled India to those THREE Olympics Gold through his solo effort in 1928, 1932 and 1936 and Balbir Singh Senior in every manner was HELPED by K.D.Singh Babu, Kishen Lal, Keshav Dutt, Udham Singh and Pater Jansen in every manner to score including Tarsem Singh who could have scored so many goals for India but on the directions from the Indian think tank, he kept on feeding passes after passed to Balbir Singh Senior to score.Balbir Singh Senior would score ONE and MISS THREE, for that was his scoring ability.

Till the end of the Olympics at Helsinki Balbir Singh Senior had finished scoring TWELVE ( 12 ) goals for India missing out more than double of the same . These kind of misses have never been seen at any stage of Hockey, before or after the rein of Balbir Singh Senior in the annals of Indian and World Hockey. No body talks about the same and about it.

Olympics 1956, Melbourne:: Politics And Back Stabbing Kills India But Luckily India Wins “ GOLD ”

The Olympics at Melbourne and its camp related to Indian Hockey started but no sooner it started it threw in the spanners that were too out of the requirement and out of shape to carry the Indian legacy of Hockey forward.

The entire Hockey administration backed up by the Punjab State Government, and the Punjab Police wanted Balbir Singh Senior to be the Captain of the Indian team. For, this was the last chance for them to see their SON-OF-SOIL become the captain of the Indian national Hockey team, the FIRST of the SARDARJI from Punjab to lead the Indian Hockey team. The camp started in the right conquest but no sooner that it started there were many who started bullying K.D.Singh Babu, either to make the way for Balbir Singh Senior to be the Captain of the squad or to leave the Indian team for him to be termed as very old to play Hockey at the age of 34 years by then

There were many a question in the lips and many articles in the newspaper then,.The question raised were If K.D.Singh Babu at the age of 34 was to old to play Hockey whey did the Indian selectors called him for the camp at all. The manner in which the politics within the camp started unfolding, and the manner in which Babu was made the target, he QUIT the camp in disgust and in all the insults that he had to bear. Balbir Singh Senior was made the Captain of the team

The Indian team played its three matches in that tournament in the pool with  Balbir Singh Senior playing in ONE of the pool match against United States in which India had beaten them by 14-0 .The otrher two matches that India beat Afghanistan by  16-0 and Singapore by 6-0, saw Balvir Singh Senior not playing those matches.

In the semis India beat Great Britain by 1-0 the goal scored by Udham Singh and in the finals AFTER INDIAN GOALKEEPER SHANKAR LAXMAN SAVED A PENALTY STROKE OF MANJUR HASSAN ATIF, RANDHIR SINGH GENTLE SCORED OFF A PENALTY CORNER IN THE 38TH MINUTE TO HELP INDIA TO WIN HER SIXTH STRAIGHT GOLD AT THE OLYMPICS.

In the five games played in the Melbourne Olympics by India, Balbir Singh Senior played in two games, one in the pool match and the other straight in the finals

The reason given for him NOT playing in the remainders of the games of Hockey at the Melbourne Olympics were that he was injured.

In the finals against Pakistan inspite of having an injury he was fielded against Pakistan. It started with him saying that he carried injury at the foot where in the pool match he was hit by an opponent, but after the finals there were news all over the Indian part of the country that he carried a FINGER INJURY at the finals against Pakistan and even then he played for the country . How did the foot injury at the start, get converted into his finger fracture is a mystery of Indian Hockey even till this stage.

In the Melbourne Olympics  India scored 38 goals not conceding even one.The entire credit goes to Shankar Laxman who saved a PENALTY STROKE against Great Britain in the semis and a stroke in the 23rd minute against Pakistan, in the finals,  but no sooner that India won the MEDAL the entire GLOSS and the GLITZ was thrown on Balbir Singh Senior especially by the State Administration of Punjab, by the National Newspaper Tribune and by the FOOLS of Indian Hockey – putting all the effort of Shankar Laxman who saved One Penalty Stroke each in the semis, and again in the finals , to the last grind of the dust.

The entire credit of the Olympics 1956 should go to the TRIO of Randhir Singh Gentle, Shankar Laxman and Udham Singh who scored FIFTEEN goals in the entire tournament of Olympics 1956 , which included a DOUBLE HATTRICK ( if my memory serves me right ) in the first game, again a TWO HATTRICK in the second game against U.S.A and then again in the semis where he scored all the important goal against Great Britain to take India into the finals. Till then Balbir Singh Senior was nursing the injury.

No sooner that the team reached finals, ALL HIS INJURY WERE BACK IN THE DRAINS AND HE WAS PITCHED BY THE INDIAN COACH KARTAR SINGH TO PLAY THE FINALS.

In the Finals, Hamid Ali Kiddie the Pakistani Right Full Back and Anwar the Right Half of Pakistan complteley made a RAT of Balbir Singh Senior. He was NOT given any room, any space and any inch to move and make his presence felt.So humiliating got the scenario that Udham Singh once lost his cool and banged his stick on the ground saying that IT WAS ENOUGH TO FEED HIM WITH PASSES.

In that Olympics after Balbir Singh Senior got injured and ruled him out of the tie, it was Udham Singh and the pool of Indian players who formed a team combo  strategizing the games and the matches for indoia. The two BABES Afghanistan and U.S.A were routed by 16-0 and 14-0.Singapore gave the first heck when they held the Indian team to a 0-0 draw till the 28th minutes finally when Udham Singh broke the shackle. The semi against Great Britain was the shocker when India had to play with their tongues out of the mouth for that 45th minute goal scored by Udham Singh , which saw India through to the finals.

The inclusion of Balbir Singh Senior in the finals who till then had played in only ONE game completely disturbed the SET-INDIAN-TEAM to upset its rhythm as Balbir Singh Senior was absolutely unfit to carry on with the game .His first theory to start with – saying that he was HURT on the foot when he started the game against Pakistan, and ending with INJURED FINGER yet played the Finals to and the FOR SAKE OF INDIA was nothing but an eye wash to save his image for being tarnished.

Basically the AGE WEARING BALBIR SINGH Senior was NOT IN A POSITION either physically or mentally to play in any games of Hockey by 1956.Age had taken its toll on his body. That was clearly reflected when he was found wanting in speed to beat hamid Ali Kiddie and Anwar, who repeatedly BLOCKED Balbir Singh Senior in the finals and make him look like a RAT on the field.  IT WAS THE PUNJAB STATE GOVERNMENT BACKED BY BY THE ADMINISTRATION OF PUNJAB POLICE that saw him making to the Olympics as a Captain of the team just to BRAND Punjab as a state and to REFURBISH the tattering image of Punjab Police. Balbir Singh Senior was over the hills by then, and if compared to K.D.Singh Babu who was made to resign at the camp on the charge of being OLD was 100 times better than Balbir Singh Senior in terms of fitness. If Babu was UNFIT at the age of 34 to play for India, Balbir Singh Senior was even WORST

This is the actual story of Balbir Singh Senior.

Statistics Of Balbir Singh Senior:: Nowhere Compared To Roop Singh Or Major Dhyanchand

Balbir Singh Senior is equalized by the FOOLS who do not know anything relating to any facts about Indian Hockey. He did not play any matches in Olympics by 100 percent, everytime getting out of the team for the cause and reasons of injury that he would bring it to the think-tanks of the team.

In his tenure in Hockey at the Olympics,  India played 13 matches to win those THREE Golds. They played FIVE in 1956, THREE ( 03 ) in 1952 and again FIVE in 1948 at London. Out of these THIRTEEN games, Balbir Singh Senior played in only FIVE complete matches, though in one in 1948 he played in HALF the game. He took himself out of the game because he cited an injury.

During those day in the game of Hockey, the substitutions were NOT allowed at all. Hence it was India to suffer. Whatever it might be his tale of long NEVER ENDING INJURY just tells that physically he was NOT fit enough to play those GRINDING HILLS game for India. That was reflected when he would miss more matches than that he could play for India.

He scored only FOURTEEN goals for India in the FIVE Olympics games that he played. That is less than Udham Singh, who alone in the 1956 Olympics games scored FIFTEEN ( 15 ), less than Roop Singh who scored 26 in TWO Olympics Games and very less than Dhyanchand who scored 39 in three Olympics games.

He stands NOWHERE as compared to Major Dhyanchand but he is EQUALISED as him for winning THREE Olympics Gold Medal where he played in only FIVE GAMES to score FOURTEEN goals as against FIFTEEN by Dhyanchand who scored  39 Goals in these 15 games that he played for India, in the Olympics. The DIFFERENCE between Dhyanchand and Balbir Singh Senior is that Dhyanchand scored a HATTRICK in every Olympics Finals that he played but Balbir Singh Senior just has ONE to his name.

I do not know WHO IS THE FOOL TO CARRY OUT A WALL STATING THAT BALBIR SINGH SENIOR SCORED 246 GOALS in his entire Hockey career. A player who played even less that 100 Hockey games in his entire carrer that ranged from 1946 to 1956, HOW CAN OR COULD HE SCORE THAT MANY A GOALS.  This remains a MYSTERY.

After every Olympics event, he would be pushed to the duties of police by the Punjab Police authority. He had to undergo many a Police Trainings and classes as he was always used by Punjab Police for their administration matters and as a Public Relation of Punjab Police. His job took more of his time and as a result he could not play in many a various tourneys at India during his regime.

WHO ARE THE FOOLS TO CREDIT HIM WITH MORE THAN 200 GOALS, 246 TO BE PRECISE. THESE ARE ALL FALLACIES ABOUT HIS RECORDS FOR SCORING 246 GOALS IN HIS ENTIRE HOCKEY CAREER

Balbir Singh Senior Destroyed Many A Career Of Indian Hockey players ::

In his tenure as a ADMINISTRATOR , be it as a COACH, be it as a Manager, be it as a SUPPORT STAFF, he DEVASTATED and DESTROYED many a career of many a players especially those who rose from Punjab and who could have been a SPOILSPORTS to his CREDITS and IDENTITY of a PLAYER – IN – CHIEF – Of – PUNJAB  and its Hockey

The sufferers were Udham Singh,  WHO HAS THREE OLYMPIC GOLD AND A SILVER, A TOTAL OF FOUR OLYMPICS MEDALS,  AS COMPARED TO BALBIR SINGH SENIOR WHO IS CREDITED WITH THREE.  but is NOT talked about anything by anybody. Balbir Singh Garewal who in his entire career in Hockey that lasted for 21 years has 846 career goals , Inam-Ur-Rehman whose hockey career was BRUTALISED by, first by Ashwani Kumar and then whatever remained by Balbir Singh Senior, to name a few has 845 goals in his EIGHTEEN years of Hockey career. .

That he DRINKS, that he owns a GIRLFRIEND, that his Father sells eggs on the open street,  that he puffs the cigarettes like a chain smoker, that his LOYALTY would be to the Pakistanis and NOT to India,  were the EXCUSES to drop the Hockey players from the FIRST ELEVEN and Balbir Singh Senior brought it to the folds and to the realms and backbone of Indian Hockey . These actually does not finds any place that has to do with the games and sports.

Balbir Singh Senior brought it, and brought all these,  to the folds and to the realms and backbone of Indian Hockey .There were many to suffer on these accounts which has actually nothing to do with sports at all.

He was a policeman and he brought to rough concept of the fundas of discipline that are adhered in the Police job to the fold of Indian Hockey. That was not required not  at all.

Balbir Singh Senior as a player-::

As a player he did not possess the skill at all of either K.D.Singh Babu or of Major Dhyanchand. He was nowhere as a sppedy player as compared to Balbir Singh Garewal who could cover the 100 metres in 10.04 second. He did not possess the dribbling skill of either Inam-Ur-Rehman, Ashok Kumar or Mohammed Shahid. He was a player who had to be fed with the final pass at a distance of about six feet from the goalkeeper.

If he got that kind of a pass, he would control the ball, just do one of his roll wrist to the right, then immediately to the left,to create a gap and then move forward very close to the goal and from there he would place the ball out of the reach of the goalkeeper to score. That is what he could do. That was his game.

He was not of those player, who would run for about 25 to 35 yard holding the ball on his stick absolutely gluing the ball onto his stick to pierce the entire defense to enter into the goal and score the goal like Inam-Ur-Rehman or Balbir Singh garewal or Roop Singh or Mohammed Shahid would do. He never possessed that kind of a quality.

For whatever quality he had and for whatever he did for india and Indian hockey he was deservingly awarded the Pma Shri which is more than enough that he could wish for.  He was helped in every manner by the Punjab State Government to get that Padma Shri ahead of K.D.Singh Babu , else he was nowhere near to Babu at all for all the credential of the QUALITY that a Hockey player ought to possess. Never was it that he was the BEST player of the last century.

Balbir Singh Senior Made Himself as The " PIED - PIPER "  Of Indian Hockey-::

It was that Captain Roop Singh and Dhyanchand were dead by 1979. In between K.D.Singh Babu shot himself dead in 1978 immediately after the World Cup Hocket at his home place at Barabanki.

There was nobody left by 202 who all played with Balbir Singh Senior. Leslie Claudius, Randhir Singh Gentle, Udham Singh, Kishen Lal, Keshav Dutt, all the MARBLES of Indian Hockey were dead.they had left this world.

The BHARAT RATNA for Hockey which was meant to be for Major Dhyanchand, was cruelly and unceremoniously taken  away by Sachin Tendulkar , by cricket. There was a national outcry but it died soon .Dhyanchand and his family could not do anything good for the Bharat ratna to be corrected and conferred to Hockey.

This gave the impetus to Balbir Singh Senior, who was alive. He started making the moves and the overlapping. Based at Delhi he started using his home and the office at Delhi, running to the echelons of the Police and to the Ministry to try out and put his name on the hold for the Bharat Ratna.

Players like Leslie Claudius, Randhir Singh Gentle, Keshav Dutt who were not based at Delhi till they were alive and who were far, far and far and far better than Balbir Singh Senior, wnd who had also won THREE GOLD beside a SILVER, a total of four in their Hockey career just could not rake up their name for the same.

Guided by the NONSENSE of the film makers who produce all SHIT in terms of the film from Bollywood, they came up with a film GOLD which was all BULLSHIT and which completely makes a SHIT of Indian Hockey and HOCKEY in terms of the RULES and REGULATION

In that movie without knowing the intricacies and the A,B,C,D of either the history or the factualities of Hockey they potrayed Balbir Singh Senior as a DIAMOND of Indian Hockey which he NEVER was. That made him a FALSE HERO of the Indian hockey.

We have some IDIOTS in the Ministry of Sports, who have a HABIT of opening their FRONT DOOR OF BUSINESS everytime, before they speak on sportsman. MAYBE, getting some business out of the fools who rant in the name of Balbir Singh Senior, they compare his effort of three consecutive gold at the olympics to Dhyanchand's three Gold before Independence. The fact is Dhyanchand was an INDIVIDUAL effort.Balbir Singh Senior was  the effort of all the NINE players playing to lay passes from him to score. These FUNDAS are not read out by the FOOLS of the Sports Ministry to speak for the players after opening their door of the business to them  and to their families, about whom they ought to speak. THIS IS WHAT THE ELEMENT THAT THE SPORTS MINISTER AND THE MINISTRIES  HOLDS.

INDIAN HOCKEY IS 95 YEARS OLD, IT HAS STILL NOT COMPLETED ITS CENTURY . THERE ARE IDIOTS AND FOOLS OF SARDARJIS IN THE FRATERNITY OF SPORTS WHO CLAIM THAT HE WAS THE BEST EVER HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE LAST CENTURY- WHAT A JOKE

HIS DAUGHTER MADAM S.BHOMIA IS THE GREATEST OF THEM ALL AND HIS GRANDSON STANDS AHEAD IN THAT MATTER IF COMPARED TO ANY OTHER WHO RANTS ABOUT ANYTHING GREAT ABOUT BALBIR SINGH SENIOR.

He really does not deserves anything more than the Indian Government has conferred him,

Uselessly he is being made the ELEVENTH GURU SAHIB for the Punjabis and the Sardarji's within the state of Punjab, in Hockey and that is a CRIME beside a constitutional joke in all manner to publically bestow the honour on him for india to do a HATTRICK of winning the Olympic Gold in Hockey. If Shankar Laxman was not there as the Goalkeeper of the Indian Hockey team in 1956, India and Balbir Singh Senior would not  have won the GOLD. That is a FACT that nobody talks about.

YES- MAJOR DHYANCHAND, K.D.SINGH BABU, DESERVES A BHARAT RATNA ROOP SINGH EITHER A PADMA VIBHUSHAN OR A PADMA BHUSHAN AND ASHOK KUMAR DHYANCHAND A PADMA SHRI DEFINITELY

The time to confer them this award is NOW

 That is it

Regards and Thanks
