OLYMPICS - 2024  And India    Absolutely  DISSAPOINTING  ,  FRUSTATING  and  NERVE - WRACKING  Olympics for India -  RESOURCE AND MONEY WASTAGE 

So at last the final day of the Olympics of the year 2024 is over. The next one would be held at America and that would be at Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has held the Olympic Games in 1932, 1984 , and it would again host the games in 2028 for the third time.

We at India are making a sincere effort to hold the games at Gujarat in 2036 and the RELIANCE FOUNDATION is keeping NO STONE UNTURNED  to see to it that the games are held at India .The mute question is – ::

“ ARE WE STRONG AND CAPABLE ENOUGH TO DECREE OURSELF FOR HOLDING THESE KIND OF AN MEGA CONTINENTAL EVENT ”.

I shall write all about India strength in terms of the medals and the kind of an signal that it gives for us to hold the event in 2036 as India is making a strong bid to hold this prestigious event.

First . let me make an indepth analysis of India and her performance in the recently concluded Olympics event.Did we really make any impression in this Olympics.

India with a SILVER through Neeraj Chopra and another FIVE  Bronze medal stands up at ran number 71 in the final medal tally as per its standing in this Olympic Games. Pakistan with a Solitary   GOLD IN THE Javelin throw stands at number 56 as compared to India.

IN AN “ UNCERTAIN “ WORLD AND WITH A “ DESPAIR ” , YOU CANNOT MAKE ANY “ LEEWAY ” IN SPORTS.

The world of SPORTS is very uncertain and with ONLY ONE OR TWO GOLD MEDAL WINNING HOPE , you simply cannot hope for anything in sports. That has been India’s nemesis everytime, after the Paris Olympics 1900, when India had won  TWO SILVER through Norman Pritchard, only to see the Britishers taking it away from us , to the recently concluded the Paris Olympics 2024 where we won  SILVER as the best through Neeraj Chopra who we had expected to win the GOLD.

Let me fall back to some events , that India participated in this Olympics. Let me start from Table Tennis. The ONLY finalist in the CONTINENTAL TABLE TENNIS  event has been  B. K. ARUN KUMAR in 1974 in the ASIAN TABLE TENNIS BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP which was held at Japan. It is  FIFTY YEARS that India has  FAILED  to produce even a single TT paddler, who could make it to the semis to win something .

Now , let me come to the  TRACK EVENT. We never had any Indian wiining any MEDALS in the track events at the Olympics ever since 1948 when India had an Olympian Finalist for the Triple Jump in Henry Rebello to this stage when we had Avinash Sable to make it to the finals of the track event with he eventually finishing eleventh in the Steeple- chase event.

We had MILKHA SINGH IN 1960,  we had SRIRAM SINGH, in 1976, we had P.T.Usha in 1984 , we had Shivnath Singh in 1976, and we had a few female athlete, here and there at times in there track events, and now for ONE  we had a Avinash Sable in the steeple-chase events where they finished from the FOURTH POSITION to the ELEVENTH position

Well - if anybody asks or questions me about  HOW WAS NEERAJ WINNING THAT SILVER, WHEN WE EXPECTED A GOLD FROM HIM , I WOULD ANSWER IT AS SUCH - ::

" HELLO, YOU MAN - HE WON THAT SILVER ON A DAY WHEN HE WAS AT HIS WORST PHYSICAL CONDITION, AND ONE OF HIS WORST DAY.

Well ,I shall write about him and about Madam Vinesh in a separate write - up and in a seperate blog, but here let me fall back to the Olympics Squad that India had sent this time and the money for every medal spent on the players taking the entire squad.

Ever since  NORMAN PRITCHARD  won the SILVER in the Paris Olympics in 1900, in the Track event , it is about 124 years that  NONE  of the Indian has ever won  A medal IN THE  TRACK EVENTS IN THE Olympics.

Yes, we can BOAST  about Neeraj Chopra  WHO IS THE “ BOUNTY ”  OF THE GOD to us to have fetched us and who gave us  TWO – BACK – TO – BACK - MEDALS at the Olympics, the GOLD  at Tokyo in 2021 and now a SILVER in the same JAVELIN THROW, at Paris 2024.

To fall back on the adage in the past decades and so, the Indian Olympic fans used to be  SAD, full with ANGER and would BLAST everything that was before them, to see the finality of the Indian sports, In this era where the media glare and the social media is in full view and in the BEST  as well as the WORST of it’s operation , it becomes increasingly very HARD  and it also become  FULTILE A useless exercise,  at last to describe the  ACTUAL tale of India to analyse and comments upon it’s performance in the Olympics.

A country with a POPULATION of about 145 crores and with all the backing from the NATIONAL GOVERNMENT,  what have we performed in the last THIRTY  years in the Olympics . Well to put it in words, we had ONE Bronze in 1996, 2000, a SILVER in 2004, a “ GOLD ” the FIRST  ever by India outside the periphery of  “ HOCKEY ”,  and two Bronze in 2008 surpassing the two silvers by Norman Pritchard in 1900 Paris Olympics and the gold and bronze medals won by the Indian field hockey team and Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav respectively, at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.

Came the 2012 Olympics the picture was such that after heading into London with 83 competitors, India won six Olympic medals, including two silver and four bronze. That tally convincingly overtook India's previous best haul of three medals won at the previous edition of the summer Games in Beijing 2008

India left Rio de Janeiro with two medals. These medals were won only by female athletes for the first time in history, a silver to badminton player P. V. Sindhu and ONE  medal in wrestling by Sakshi Malik who became the FIRST ever female wrestler to win the medal in the female category of wrestling .

Came the Olympics 2021, India won  SEVEN MEDALS in toto, including ONE, A BRONZE, in Hockey which it won after a gap of about 41 years ..Taking the counts of all, from 1996 to 2024 INDIA HAS WON 21 MEDALS, WHICH CONSISTS OF TWO GOLDS, TWO SILVERS', AND SIXTEEN BRONZE. 

I'M NOT TAKING THE SIX MEDALS THAT WE HAVE WON AT THE PARIS OLYMPICS 2024 AT ALL. If the counts of the of the ParisOlympics are taken then the total count of the Indian medal at the Olympics would stand at TWENTY SEVEN, and that is the total number of medal won by CANADA in this Olympics at Paris in 2024.

These medals to us ,  came through Hockey,  Boxing , Wrestling ,Badminton, Shooting and  NOTHING ELSE  to say or to write. 

I shall now fall back to the Olympics 2021.This was held a year later as scheduled. Because the COVID – 19 took the time at Tokyo for the organisers to hold it a year later and when it happened  IT SAW THE FIRST EVER OLYMPICS GOD WON BY INDIA IN THE TRACK AND THE FIELD EVENT, PRECISELY THE FIELD EVENT THROUGH “ NEERAJ CHOPRA ” IN THE Javelin throw

From 1896 when we first participated in the Olympics to 2024, in this span of 128 years  WE HAVE MANAGED TO WIN ONLY TWO GOLD, and after 2008 to 2024 , in the last  SIXTEEN YEARS, we have managed to win  ONLY - - TWO  –  GOLDS.

One can add the EIGHT GOLDS that we have won in the Hockey event, THAT MAKES ONLY TEN GOLDS for India in her 128 years of the Olympics history.

IF WE TAKE THE OVERALL ACCOUNT, WE WIN A GOLD ONCE IN SIXTY FOUR YEARS. If the last difference between the two gold that we won and if we take that GOLD into account, then IT IS NOT BEFORE  Olympics , 2032  THAT WE MIGHT WIN ANOTHER GOLD.I'm not taking the gold won by the Hockey as an event at all in these summation, narration and descriptions. 

The mute question that arises is  WHY IS THAT WE SEND AN CONTINGENT OF 100 PLUS KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT ON AN AVERAGE WE CANNOT WIN MORE THAN THREE MEDALS IN THE OLYMPICS- AND WHAT IS THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE MONEY SPENT ON IT. 

If I take the amount of Rupees Four Crores, it is the entire AFTER RETIREMENT BENEFIT that is paid to a I.A.S Officer for having rendered about 35 years of service .That amount in a span of four years ois spent by the Government of India on a sportsman or women to preapre them for the Olympics.

In other words , what the Government of India spends on a Olympian in a span of FOUR YEARS, IT TAKES ALMOST 35 YEARS FOR A  CIVIL ADMINISTARIVE OFFICER to earn the same kind of an amount in terms of his after retirement benifits . 

The result is almost the same.The Civil Servant Officer  HARDLY DOES ANYTHING WORTH FOR THE NATION , and the SPORTSPERSON that represents India in the Olympics hardly does anything  WORTH for themselves or the nation. The only dent that one makes in both the case is  THEY WATSE THE ENTIRE ENERGY AND THE MONEY OF THE NATION WITHOUT GETTING ANYTHING WORTH FOR THE NATION.

The difference is  THE CIVIL SERVICE OFFICER IN A SPAN OF 35 YEARS LOOTS THE NATION BY A MINIMUM OF 35 CRORES OF RUPEES AND THE MAXIMUM BY 350 CRORES OF RUPEES, WHEREAS THE OLYMPIAN IS SEEN BEGGING ON THE RAODSIDE WITH A BEGGING BOWL IN HIS HAND

Coming back to the main theme and the subject, I focuss my study to the MOST IDIOTIC GAUNLETS that the sports throws and we totally immerse our self believing that. Whenever a  WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is held , in BOXING, ARCHERY  and also in WRESTLING, we see that our athlete come up with  a  GOLD in these kind of games.We go BOMBS AND BONKER whenever that happens.There are a lot of words written and spoken, both in the print and the media as well as on the TV SCREEN, FOR THEM TO MAKE A (T)IRPAT (R)APATROLLA KA (P)AATSHAALA for them 

We hardly understand that in these kind of the competition that they call it as a world championship, the other nations, sends only the second class of athletes or those, who are the future representatives of their nation, only to gain international experience in terms of the exposure to horne them for the highest level of challenge for the future This is the reality and this is the mirror for us to see the actuals.

On their return we lay a RED CARPET  for them to walk and we accord them with the HIGHEST awards for  NOTHING THAT IS AT THE STAKE..we start talking about them as if there is a NINTH SKY that is going to fall on our bag in the necxt Olympics .In reality the others bring out a  WEAPON UNDER THE SLEEVES TO OUR PLAYERS WHEN THEY MEET THEIR OPPONENT AT THE OLYMPICS

SELECTION WHICH LEAVES A LOT TO BE EXPLAINED AND TOLD -:;  HOW IS DEEPIKA KUMARI AND PURNIMA MAHATO BY COUNTS, ANY ARCHERS AND COACH AT ALL.

Let me come to the selection of the players or the athletes for the Olympics and the selection of the Coaches for the events as a Coach.Let me completely cite the selection of the Archery team.When you look into the Archery team of the Asiad 2023 held, one would find that India had WON three GOLDS one in the ladies event, one in the Men's event and one in the team event. The lady Archer was JYOTI SUREKHA VENNAM  who won that GOLD for India in the eves category THROWING away the Korean Archer to the PACIFIC OCEAN..That was the performance. MAY I ASK WHY WAS SHE NOT INCLUDED FOR THE OLYMPICS GAMES.How was that Deepika Kumari a ROTTEN archer included in the squad.

This lady JYOTI shot TENS hitting the BULLS – EYE for all her game from the first to the finals of the team competition and in the individual event for the GOLD she shot  ALL TEN  from the FIRST round of the event to the FINAL in that Asiad in 2023.

 .She was NOT in the team in either of the events, be it the individual be it the team event. MAY I KNOW HOW THIS KIND OF A ATHLETE BE DROPPED AND HOW THE ONES WHO MADE IT WERE SELECTED ESPECIALLY DEEPIKA KUMARI.

Similiary in the Men’s event, India had won  gold THROUGH a ARCHER by the name of  DEOTALE. He hails from MAHARASHTRA. This man in the Asiads in 2023  SHOT every arrow and hit them on the  BULL EYE  when he was competing for the Men’s Team event, The consistency and the manner in which he shot them was  UNBELIEVABLE  and UNEXPECTED. He beat all his competitor so easily and so handsomely that he as expected gave India the GOLD. He too was not seen at all in the Indian Squad for the Olympics.

We were so UP ABOVE THE SKY  when our Archers failed to win any medals at the Olympics saying that  WE FOR THE FIRST TIME REACHED THE SEMIS OF AN ARCHERY EVENT IN THE OLYMPICS.

The  ACTUALITY AND THE TRUTH IS WE PURPOSELY SPAT ON THE MEDAL TO GIVE IT TO OUR OPPONENTS BY SELECTING A TEAM WHICH WAS NOT AT ALL WORTH TO REPRESENT INDIA IN THE OLYMPICS.

HOW CAN YOU WIN A MEDAL IN THE OLYMPICS BY SELECTING THOSE WHO HIT THE SIXES AND THE SEVEN IN ARCHERY AND BY DROPPING OUT THOSE WHO ARE EXPERTS IN SCORING TEN OUT OF TEN FROM THE FIRST ROUND TO THE LAST ROUND OF AN EVENTPic - :: The Wall That Depicts The Resources And Money Wastages

That Lady Madam Purnima  Mahato who was the Chief Coach of the Indian Archery team-  MAY I KNOW HOW MANY MEDALS HAS SHE WON IN THE " GALLI – MOHALLA " ARCHERY EVENT AT JHARKHAND WHERE SHE HAILS FROM. Practically having  big zero  AS AN ACHIEVEMENT you select her as the National Coach of the Indian Archery team for the OLympics .What do you expect to get ? shit I say and you got  SHIT.

You can only expect to get  a big ,  R G MEDICAL COLLEGE RAPE WHICH YOU GOT IN ARCHERY , and that is what got that in archery at Olympics 

You select a Coach who has you  NOTHING  at all in terms of any credentials in Archery YET you select her as a  NATIONAL COACH of India for an Olympic event. The selection of the Indian Archery team leaves a LOT OF ROOMS FOR DOUBTABLE QUESTION.It is very obvious that the selection was  NOT MADE ON MERIT but on consideration.If NOT how can a  Deepika Kumari gets selected .

That also raised another  QUESTION WAS IT THAT THERE WAS SOME TRANSACTION BEHIND THE CURTAIN INVOLVED

Is is that  IF DEEPIKA KUMARI BY MISTAKE HAD WON A MEDAL, WAS SHE GOING TO SHARE A PORTION OF HER BOOTY WITH PURNIMA MAHATO

Underhand dealing for selecting the national team for Cricket is nothing new.  HAS IT ENETERED THE OLYMPICS FRAY IN INDIAN SPORTS.

The Prime Minister while visiting the foreign nations, gets a   LOT OF GIFTS as TOKEN OF APPRECIATION.  He might have received  MANY A TRUMPETS  and  MANY A FLUTES

THIS WAS AN “ UNFIT ” SELECTED HOCKEY TEAM – HARMANPREET AND SREEJESH TO THE “ RESCUE ”

Selection of some of the players for the Hockey squad for this Olympics,  completely defies all the logics. We may  GLOAT about Hockey but having played this game upto the University ;level as a Goalkeeper myself, between 1976 to 1978, I can very  SAFELY and very  SQUARELY say that there were as many as  SEVEN PLAYERS not at all FIT by any standard to represent India and  FIVE  of them were  SARDARJIS

Had it not been HARMANPREET SINGH and P.R.SREEJESSH especially Harmanpreet , who gave a rousing display of  ALL – ROUND – HOCKEY we would not have won that Bronze. Sreejesh was  GOOD  and   was PATCHY at times .It was very evident that the age had taken away the AGILTY and that told upon his anticipations.The THIRD goal that he conceded AGAINST Germany ,  was a LOUSY and  COMICAL. Act. He could have easily saved that one but he erred because of the IMPOVERISH defense Still he could have saved that goal and could have pushed India to the finals. The chances that Abhishek, Lalit Upadhya and Shamsher Singh missed just could not be SPAREFD at all for inviting the NOOSE TO BE TIED ON THEIR NECK.

THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO WASTE AND SPEND MONEY WITH SUCH A NEGATIVE RESULT

‘Between Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 the INDIAN Government did spend Rs 470 crores to build this Olympic contingent A maximum of 117 athletes were sent to Paris for the event. Taking into consideration of the  TOTAL OLYMPICS MEDALS WON BY INDIA FROM 1900 TO 2021- THE ACTUAL MEDAL THAT INDIA SHOULD HAVE WON IN PARIS , 2024,  SHOULD HAVE BEEN THIRTEEEN Instead we won  SIX just  HALF of what we should have won Of this  THREE came from  SHOOTING

This was the event where the Government  SPEND THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY  amongst all the events that competed in the Olympics this time. Every things needed was provided by the Indian Government. The BEST of the facilities, the BEST of the TRAINING, the BEST of the INFRA STRUCTURE was provided with a ZIFF and PUFF

Compare it with some very small nation and compare it with some  BIG nation, say UZBEKISTAN  and  CANADA  as example.Canada in this Olympics, with TEN Gold won as many as 27 or maybe 22 medals, and Uzbekistan won EIGHT Golds.The training facilities and the money spent on the Canadian  contingent by Canada was about, ANYTHING BETWEEN 158 Crores, to about ,   Rs 205 crores in the last three years and Uzbekistan , WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT.The Government of Uzbekistan was forced to spend only  58 crores on their entire contingent as they  CANNOT afford to spend that kind of an amount of money , as compared , to India  AS THEY ARE COUNTRY – IMPOVERISH.

BOXING   :: WELTER – WEIGHT:: “ UZBEKISTAN -  WEIGHT ”

As Brazil BOASTS  about its football, as India boasts about it HOCKEY, the IMPOVERISH  and the TINY nation Uzbekistan  BOAST ABOUT THE WELTER WEIGHT division of BOXING

Uzbekistan has  been winning the WELTER WEIGHT division of the boxing event in every Olympics since 2004 and this time also Uzbekistan's Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev beat Mexico's Marco Verde to win gold in the men's welterweight boxing final by unanimous decision at the Paris Olympics on Friday and added to compatriot Hasanboy Dusmatov's victory ‘

Uzbekistan has for its Olympics campaign, 2028,  pin pointed  the welter weight division/ category of boxing to see to it that it  WINS  atleast one GOLD at that division for get ATLEAST one GOLD in the Olympics.  DO WE HAVE ATLEAST ONE SUCH EVENT OR A CATEGORY AT INDIA WHICH COULD HELP US TO WIN ONE GOLD.

This is the SIGHT, this is the target that we attach and that we fix. The “ TOPS ” scheme floated by the Indian Government is all  “ BULL – SHIT ”

Every year we select the sportsman and woman, and fix a TOPS which is  TOP OF THE PODIUM.  The Government of India allots money for these sports personalities, to train and spend it on themselves for winning the MEDALS be it the Asian Games or the Olympics.  NONE EVEN THEN COULD PROVIDE US THE ASSURANCE OF WINNING THE KIND OF THE MEDAL.

The ONE that we hope to win or get ius GOLD  comes with a  BRONZE or  a SILVER the rest if they are LUCKY  win us  Bronze . We as a nation go berseck and we hear a lot of LULLABHOYS from the TV expert when they do it – WHICH ARE ALL BULLSHIT
