July 19th 2026 according to the " GREENWICH MEAN TIME ". This would be , as per the counts,  the " 23rd finals " that the F.I.F.A World Cup football would see. Of this 23 finals played, there have been ELEVEN  ocassion where the Finals of the title was played by a Latin American team , in the finals,  outwitting their more fancied European finalists .

The FIRST such ocassion was the moment and the year , 1958 when Brazil in the finals for the first time defeated an European team Sweden by 5-2 to win the FIRST ever contest between a Latin American team and an European team , in the finals of the F.I.F.A World Cup.

From 1958 to 2026, there has been as many as ELEVEN contest in the World Cup Finals, between the Latin American team and the European team, where the Latin American team, has won EIGHT titles and the European, only THREE.In that manner the Latin Americans are FIVE TITLES ahead for having won the EIGHT out of the ELEVEN finals played between them.

Argentina would become the THIRD team in the history of the World Cup football, to win BACK - TO- BACK titles , if they win the 2026 finals , the  FIRST being ITALY,in 1934 and 1938, Brazil being the second in 1958 and1962. Holland as a nation has played TWO  back - to - back Finals of the World Cup in 1974 and in 1978, having lost in both the ocassions. It's the only case, as an example, for having played two back - to- back, finals without winning any of or either one of them.

Infact Brazil, and West Germany, are the TWO teams, and of them Brazil is the only team,  is the ONLY team to have won TWO titles, out of the three played,  ie,  three consecutive world cup finals, in  1994, 1998 AND 2002. Nevertheless - West Germany too, played in THREE consecuite Finals, in 1982, 1986, and 1990 and they won the ONLY one in 1990 , which was their THIRD success in the World Cup Football.

Of these three finals played consecutively by Brazil, Brazil as a nation won TWO  Titles ,  in 1994 and in 2002.

Brazil as a footballing nation, has played in FIVE WORLD CUP FINALS, IN 1958 DEFEATING  Sweden by 5-2, in 1962 defeating Czeckhs Republic by 3-1, in 1970 defeating Italy by 4-1, in 1994, defeating Italy by 4-2 on penalties and in 2002 defeating Germany by 2-0 in the finals.In all of those five ocassion, they got the better of their fancied European rivals.
