International Civil Aviation Day-:
Working Together to Ensure No Country is Left Behind
The purpose of International Civil Aviation Day is to help generate and reinforce worldwide awareness of the importance of international civil aviation to the social and economic development of States, and of the unique role of ICAO in helping States to cooperate and realize a truly global rapid transit network at the service of all mankind.
Civil Aviation Agenda 2030 - ::
As the UN and world nations have now adopted Agenda 2030, and embarked on a new era in global sustainable development, the importance of aviation as an engine of global connectivity has never been more relevant to the Chicago Convention's objectives to look to international flight as a fundamental enabler of global peace and prosperity.
Themes- :: Special For The Intermittent Years With Separate Messages
Every five years, coinciding with ICAO anniversaries (2014/2019/2024/2029/etc.), the ICAO Council establishes a special anniversary theme for International Civil Aviation Day. Between these anniversary years, Council representatives select a single theme for the full four-year intervening period.
For 2015-2018 inclusive the Council has selected the following theme: Working Together to Ensure No Country is Left Behind.
The campaign highlights ICAO’s efforts to assist States in implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The main goal of this work is to help ensure that SARP implementation is better harmonized globally so that all
States have access to the significant socio-economic benefits of safe and reliable air transport and can address safety, security and emissions-related issues.
Well this is the importance of the day.
Civil Aviation in the World was given birth by the Wright Brothers, Auroville Wright & his younger brother who first designed an aircraft and flew it in America and in India it was the vision of the Tatas, Mr Rata who first brought it here in India and it was they who carried out the business of Aircraft flying the passenger lest they gave it to the Government of India to operate it.
The AIR-INDIA took its birth then and came the Indian Airlines for the internal flight to carry cargoes and passengers . Today we have a fleet of other Airlines as well.
As expected, when the TATAS had given it to India to operate it, it was envisaged that one fine day the Airlines that the Tatas gave it to India to operate will come back to them and it did happen. The Tatas have purchased it back from the Indian Government for 18,000 crores of rupees to operate it and hence the Maharaja which had been away from it's house has come back to it's own house- this is what is said.
Good- it connects us to the world- from one end of the world to other and it also amuses when we are in the air.

That is it

Regards and Thanks
